B & R HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING INC

Came out one time to give an estimate. Never heard from them, called and never got another response.

Furnace and a/c were installed promptly during renovation. Heating and cooling didn't work well at all in the new part of the house, and it took several service calls before faulty duct hanging was identified as a problem, and then one additional call before the problem was fixed. The problem was clearly an error in installation, and it was very frustrating to have it take months to be corrected when we repeatedly pointed out the problem in maintaining temperature and poor air flow. The service tech's were all very polite (albeit not always able to see the problem).

Broad Ripple Heating and Air Conditioning went above and beyond the call of duty. Our daughter was due to be discharged from Methodist Hosp. after her heart transplant. We were given a list of things for home preparation. One of the requirements was to have the ducts cleaned, as it had not been done in 15 years. The furnace filter and air conditioning were checked. But, when Tim called to get the vents cleaned, the company originally said we had to wait three days for an appointment. Daughter Lucy was coming home in two days, and you wonderful people heard our story and sent David and Tim. The ducts looked like a health hazard with the pet hairs they suctioned out. When they left, we turned on the furnace as the evening was cool and no particles floated through the air. The men worked hard.

AFTER FINISHING THE SERVICE JOB THE AIR CONDITIONER NO LONGER WORKED. THE TECHNICIAN ADMITTED HE HAD BROKEN THE CONDENSER. THEY OFFERED TO REPLACE THE UNIT FOR $3700 OR REPLACE THE CONDENSER WITH A USED CONDENSER FOR FREE. I OPTED FOR THE THEM TO REPLACE THE CONDENSER. I THEN RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE OWNER AND HE SAID THAT THE CONDENSER WOULD HAVE GONE BAD IN A FEW WEEKS ANYWAYS SO THEY WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE, BUT HE WOULD REPLACE THE UNIT FOR $3500. I HAD AN EXPERIENCED ENGINEER FROM A LEADING HEATING AND A/C COMPANY COME OUT AND LOOK AT THE UNIT. HE SAID THAT DURING REGULAR MAINTENANCE THE CONDENSER SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN DAMAGED IN THE WAY IT WAS. THE TECHNICIAN FROM B & R MUST HAVE BEEN REALLY JOLTED THE UNIT FOR HIM TO DO THE TYPE OF DAMAGE THAT WAS DONE. I HAVE SINCE BEEN QUOTED $1500 BY ANOTHER COMPANY TO REPLACE THE UNIT. I DO NOT WANT B & R BACK AT MY HOUSE BUT THEY NEED TO REIMBURSE ME FOR THE DAMAGE THEY CAUSED. MY WIFE IS 9 MONTHS PREGNANT AND WE HAVE NO AIR CONDITIONER.

A SERVICE PERSON SPENT A GOOD DEAL OF TIME HERE FINDING AND CORRECTING THE PROBLEM.

VERY GOOD.

TOOK 15 MINUTES TO DIAGNOSE AND REPAIR. THE ONLY PART USED WAS A 1 FT. STRIP OF WIRE WITH A SCREW TYPE TERMINAL. A $3 PART THAT COST ME $74.THE $75 SERVICE CALL DOES NOT BOTHER ME, BUT $74 FOR WHAT SHOULD BE A $3 PART DOES. I WON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN DUE TO THIS BILL PADDING.

NOT ONLY WERE THEY VERY THOROUGH IN CHECKING MY HEATING SYSTEM THEY GAVE ME HINTS AND TIPS ABOUT THE HEATING SYSTEM, AND THERMOSTAT (I JUST MOVED IN), AND ALSO GAVE ME INSTRUCTIONS ON MANAGING THE BUILT IN HUMIDIFIER WHICH I WOULD HAVE NEVER KNOWN.
