Arlie's seems to subcontract this type of work to another guy. Dennis returned a call promptly, showed up on time to inspect the tree and then was supposed to send the trimmer by later that day to estimate the cost of the job. The trimmer knocked on our door the next day at 8:00pm and offered to do the job immediately. We agreed to have three limbs removed, dead wood trimmed, and all trimmings cut to less than 8 ft so they would be accepted by the city yard waste pick-up. He removed the limbs we wanted gone but neglected much of the dead wood and had to be reminded to cut the limbs. Dennis stopped by later for the remainder of the bill and told us he would send the trimmer by because he thought it looked poorly done. He (the trimmer) came back (even after being paid) and trimmed up a bit but there is still quite a bit of dead wood. The trimmer was a bit unprofessional: showing up unannounced, agreeing to the price without a contract or written quote, being a bit unprepared for the labor (asking for a beverage (though I was happy to give it, folks who work outside should be prepared for the intense heat of our area)), and crass offensive language. But you really can't beat the price! I will definitely use them again.
Description of Work: They removed several limbs, cut a little dead wood, and cut and stacked wood for pick up by the city.

I contacted Arlie's in mid-April and we set a date (after playing phone tag for a couple of days). He and a worker came by as scheduled, trimmed the tree, and piled up the branches. They even made some into campfire-logs for me. The job was well done. However, when they cut the branches, it was clear that carpenter ants had burrowed through the trunk and into the branches, so now there are holes through the stumps of the branches, which I worry may lead to rot and the death of the tree. It would have been nice if they had pasted a sealant over these stumps. They recommended that I put pesticide pellets around the base of the tree to prevent further ant damage, and I appreciate them sharing that information with me. Arlie was friendly and professional.
Description of Work: I have a large silver maple in my backyard that had branches over the power lines to the house.

The roofing was completed in a timely manner. However, our front porch now has water dripping on it. We have 2 skylights that had never leaked. Then 15 months after the roof had been completed, one of them leaked. We were under the impression there was a 20 year guarantee, however as it turned out there was a 12 month guarantee. When the skylight leaked it had been 15 months. So they charged us $40.00 to come back and caulk around the skylight.
