+ 2 moreThe estmate was performed in a timely manner and came in midway between two other contractors. The crew doing the work were professional and courteous and got the job done in a timely manner. Finished product looks great! I will be having them back out next spring to pour concrete as well.
Description of Work: Large retaining wall built alongside house and existing driveway to have a place to park a 27’ trailer, fire pit, and several trees planted.

+ 0 moreAt first I used the phone book to get my project completed. I could not even get an estimate let alone the work completed. So I went to Angie's List. I contacted 2 contractors and chose Sturgeon Stone & Landscape. They came by as promised to look over my project. They gave me a competitive bid for the work and completed the project as promised. They provided insurance info up front. They did not ask me to sign a contract or for money up front. Mike Sturgeon and his team were courteous throughout the project.
Description of Work: I had Brown County stone patio, retaining walls and siding repaired/tuck-pointed. An old RR tie retaining wall was replaced with an interlocking block wall.

+ -1 moreIt was clear that they did not listen to us as we explained our vision for the renovation. We asked for an estimate for each stage of the project and did not receive this, but instead, received an estimate for the entire project that was pricey and did not include many of the things we wanted in the project. The estimate was also fairly "bare bones" and not detailed enough.

Description of Work: I requested an estimate on some basement concrete block mortar repair, some tuck pointing of limestone facade and corresponding grading on the exterior. Mike Sturgeon came out, looked at the situation, told me what what was needed, even explaining how the masons installed the limestone facade back when my house was built. He said it wouldn't be the huge job I thought it was going to be! He was honest and straightforward.

+ 0 moreThe results are exceptional. Even much better than my wife and I thought possible. The erosion issue is corrected and we have a nice back and side yard! I would highly recommend Mike and his crew anytime!
Description of Work: We had a storm drainage gully that came within 3 feet of our house and was a major concern and causing major erosion. Mike assessed the situation and moved the drainage gully away from our house by clearing and creating a concrete basin. Then he brought in approximately 30 tri-axle loads of fill dirt.
