Sears and Sons Waste Removal

Eric was great, we had some weather issues and he worked through all that to get it don when it was need and the costs were under what I was quoted.

About 6 months ago, we started getting really terrible service. For 5 weeks straight, we would come home and our trash can would be knocked over, the lid in another yard, and sometimes trash from the bottom of the can all over our yard and our neighbor's yard. I tried calling in to complain and ask if they had a new driver on our route and it took me three or four phone calls before I could actually talk to someone. We've had this problem every single time we call to try to pay our bill over the phone. Once I finally got in touch with someone, she became extremely defensive and unprofessional with me and blamed the knocked over cans to wind. I asked her why it has been going on for weeks (not just an isolated occurrence) and why none of my other neighbor's cans were knocked over when they had the same pickup days. She continued to deny and blame the weather and at the end of the phone call still hadn't excepted blame but said she'd leave a note to the driver. Miraculously, I never had an issue with a knocked over can after that. Now I am back to the phone tag game while trying to cancel service. I'm on my third call attempting to cancel service and I promise it will be my last phone call whether they answer or not. Overall, the trash service itself is fine and like I said we used it for years and just recently decided to switch carriers due to the phone experience and better services from a competitor in town (they offered recycling services for not much more). However, if you have any need to contact them over the phone, make sure you block out multiple days on your calendar to try to reach them.

Service was excellent - always picked up, even on holidays. They picked everything up, even if we had extra when moving, etc. They also had the lowest price when I called around to compare - $15/mo. There are only two drawbacks. One is that you have to pay by check - no way to do an online payment. I usually paid for severa months at a time in order to cut back on the check-writing. The other is that they don't offer any recycling services.

I've tried to reach this company by telephone several times over the last two years concerning trash pickup issues. I've left messages but unable to receive a return call. On one occasion, the telephone message stated, and quot;The mailbox is fulland quot;. This company has no published email address or website as an alternative means of contacting them, to my knowledge. After making the decision to drop this company, I mailed them a certified return-receipt notice letter. It's been two weeks, and I still haven't received a delivery confirmation. Hmmm... This company did pick up our trash on a regular basis. Regrettably, however, we're forced to drop them, as it seems a fundamental business tenet to respond to your customers if you wish to remain in business.

The overall experience was great. The price was really reasonable and the service was exactly what we needed.
