RCV Roofing, Siding & Gutters

Our 20-year-old house needed a new roof. I looked at several roofers in the area, got bids, etc. RCV wasn't the least expensive, but they did do their best to match the next comparable bid. Given the overall roofing package they offered, their reviews here, and their professionalism, I decided to go with them. I was not disappointed! They did the full tear-off and re-shingled the house in a single day (we have a big house with a complex roofline). They cleaned up after themselves and were friendly and professional throughout. Given the age of our house I wasn't surprised that they found a few problems -- some decking issues and the like -- but they handled them quickly and competently and barely added anything to the earlier estimate. We did have a communications hitch in the middle of our process (after I accepted their bid), which can happen. I don't knock them for that because they really went above and beyond to make it right afterward. I'm happy to have found a trustworthy roofing company, and would definitely use RCV again (though given the size of this project I really hope I don't have to!).

My roof is complex. RCV did a nice job. They have good customer service. The crew did quality work and were hardworking. The sales rep and crew foremen were very knowledgeable.

Staff of RCV went above and beyond. The workmanship on the roof is wonderful. They were honest, on time, and cleaned up when completed.

The service was great. We felt we received a great overall picture of where our roof is. The gentleman who can to the house was knowlegeable and professional. Luckily our roof has a few more years in it but we will be looking at RVC when the time comes

RCV (Jay and Ashlee) was very professional and extraordinary in their response to questions. They worked with us and our storm damage insurance claim to maximize the quality of our roofing replacement. They provided an excellent discount and they worked with us to get us on their schedule quickly so that we did not sustain any further interior water damage. They clearly put the customer first and did all they could to make sure we received the best service at a very fair price. Jay and Ashlee know their business, are terrific to work with and and it very evident they enjoy what they do!! Our roof is very large (6000 sqft) and they were able to remove and replace the roof with Owens Corning shingles in two days. The crew did a wonderful job of cleaning up after this big job!

RCV sent a representative very quickly when we contacted them for an estimate. As we had a leak, the serviceman tarped all areas of concern. He was polite and helpful in explaining the insurance process which we needed to initiate. When the adjuster came out, Jay walked the roof with him. He was diligent in impressing upon the adjuster just exactly how damaged the roof was and ensured we got the best coverage possible. Jay was very helpful in explaining all of our options and provided clear, detailed estimates. When the work crew arrived, they were polite, efficient, and mindful of people coming and going throughout the day. They completed our roof replacement in a single day and then came back to complete the gutter work. We have children and dogs and were concerned about nails and such. No need. The work crew went around the house mulitiple times doing clean up and checking for nails. They were emaculate. Not having dealt with an insurance claim like this before, Jay and Ashlee were wonderfully pleasant, patient, and helpful in understanding the process. We are very pleased with the whole process, and the roof looks great!

RCV Roofing replaced the roof on our home October, 2016. From the initial telephone call to the final thorough clean up, the professionalism and knowledge of roofing, roofing material, their suggestions for improvements, the documentation we were supplied with during the process and the timeliness of it all was impressive. Also, we want to give a hold hearted thanks to all involved for their professional workmanship, for answering our many questions and for completing a special request of installing the new cupola we bought. That was the crowing touch to a job very well done. P.S. RCV Roofing and Seamless Gutters is highly recommended.

We saw the good work done by RCV on the home across the street.We knew that our roof was in need of replacement, and had discovered a possible leak.We were on a very tight schedule, and would be away for an extended period. We received a call, and due to a cancellation, our job could be done very quickly. The materials and crew arrived on schedule. The crew did the tear off of two layers of shingles and replaced the 4X8 roof panels as needed. The roof was covered with felt, "ice shield" and new flashing, and the Owens Corning Duration shingles were applied. This all was done in one day. The crew was well trained and worked together like a well oiled machine. Rain and darkness caused part of the crew to return early the next morning to finish the chimney flashing. There were several minor gutter guard repairs which were immediately made by a RCV crew. There has been a heavy storm with wind and rain to "test" the roof. There are no leaks. I have received a good warranty from RCV and Owens Corning which will cover this home for many years.I give this job "five stars", an A+, or 99.9%. ( I don't give 100%s) T.H.Hollingsworth, MD

After a severe windstorm in March 2016, I had RCV inspect the roof on our 2.5 year old house for damage and loose shingles. They found that over 30% of the shingles had not sealed, the nail pattern was totally incorrect for 60 mph wind (Indiana mandate), and there were no starter shingles or drip edges installed. Jay Nelson and his crew came out multiple times to show me the parts of the roof that were most vulnerable to high winds (we get straight-line winds here). I was on a ladder watching as they lifted shingle after shingle, sometimes five at a time. It took a lot of convincing, but weighing those results against the cost of replacing drywall, mold remediation, PLUS a new roof, we decided it was cost-effective to just replace the roof. Good thing we did, because when RCV tore off the old shingles they found several large holes in the decking and no ice/water barrier in the valleys. Jay and his crew carefully photo-documented the tear-off and the sloppy construction and sent me the images, which I then forwarded to the Indiana AG for an ongoing case against the builder. Even though they had completed another job earlier that day, the crew worked very late to finish our roof, and came back the next day to inspect and do touch-up. Now we have a secure, 50-year roof, and we sleep through storms just fine. I highly recommend RCV and their product, Owens-Corning.

They were spot on as for their estimate. Arrived as scheduled and even took pictures of our roof where we could see the trouble spots. Very professional and courteous from the office to on the job site. Cleaned up after themselves which is many times an issue when having work done at our home. Explain action of their product and description of what they were proposing to do was always very clear. Always returned my phone calls or emails promptly and even alerted me when their was a delay in install of gutters because the color I picked was on back order. Did a wonderful job and have no problem in using them again. Have since recommended them to a friend and they offered the same prompt reasonably priced service as they did to me. Great job!

RCV was fantastic to work with. Very professional and helpful throughout the process of getting quotes, selecting options, and performing the work. Any minor issues with the work were promptly corrected. We get complements from neighbors on our new roof and are very pleased with the results. Highly recommended.

it was a simple job, but the communication and follow-up was timely, courteous and professional. Even though there was a mix-up in the street address, which prolonged the service getting done, RCV handled the mix-up and made efforts to get the work done in a timely fashion.

Jay the owner personally gave me the estimate and help me pick the tiles. Then he got the work done within 3 days as I wanted to get it done before Thanksgiving. He kept me informed of every step from the beginning to the end of the project, as there were some big surprises. I was able to make informed choices the whole time. I was very pleased with their services.

We had a simple job for them. We needed a gutter replaced, and they had a leftover piece of guttering from another job in the neighborhood. They did the job cheaply and well. (I'm guessing on the date and price above.) I cannot say how well they would do on a more extensive regular job, but I would not hesitate to try them out on it.

Originally, I had asked for an entire roof replacement estimate as well to have as a comparison and for future planning, but that never materialized even after a few emails back and forth. In August, I signed the contract to have them complete the repairs as quoted and I was very pleased with the promptness and attention to detail. They even painted the boards they replaced before installing, which I hadn't expected them to do.

The project is supposed to cost around $23,000 and we have paid them $8,202 so far. The project is not at all anywhere complete and some work done incorrectly and the company has not been back out to my home since Jay Nelson left on 6/23/15 after a heated conversation due to poor workmanship and bad quality. They have damaged 5 of my existing windows that was not in the contract to be fixed or anything by putting screws into the jambs of the windows . One guy worked 3 or 4 days and then he was fired and replaced by RCV internal guys. This is when it went from bad to worse. They have been caught doing things that they have been paid to do and not done. The siding is not installed per manufacture specifications. There are over 29 areas on the house with issues with the siding. there is one wall the siding isn't even fastened. Not to mention the starter cleat is put on backwards. The house wrap isn't installed properly, not at all in one area. In addition, they are extremely overpriced, I can buy the siding for $229 a square from ABC Supply and they are charging $700 a square. The owner of RCV has threatened me verbally and in email about putting a lien on my property. They have removed all downspout, some of the guttering, our front storm door, the bathroom window brick molding and have left it this way. I have caught them not insulating the attic like they were suppose to. Had to argue with them about that and prove them wrong before they insulated the area above the bathroom, they still haven't insulated above the garage and laundry room. Not one thing they were hired to do is complete or correct, even the roofing. I have had another contactor look at the siding on my home and he couldn't believe what RCV had done not only with the siding but putting screws into my windows. Bottom line is RCV CANNOT be trusted to do the job properly or to spec. I am willing to let anyone come to my home and inspect the what RCV has done to my home. From day 1 we told RCV we want things done correctly and to spec and if they found anything wrong let us know because we wanted it fixed. . Most of everything Matt Hunsucker has stated IS NOT TRUE. I have every text message and email from Jay Nelson and Matt Hunsucker I would be more than happy to share with Angie's List and anyone else that would like to read them. Bottom line is RCV has made shambles of our home. Matt never once touched base on the damaged windows by RCV (which I have emails from Jay acknowledging the damage to the windows). I can prove most of Matt's response's ARE NOT true. If RCV has everything perfect as Matt states why isn't the home wrap installed per code. I have had our home inspected and that was one of the findings is the home wrap is not installed per code (listed in report and we have pictures). The starter cleat is on backwards and I have pictures for anyone to see, not to mention the siding isn't nailed on properly. I have inspection paperwork and pictures to prove this. The drip edge on the back porch is not installed properly also listed in report and have pictures showing this. The removal of most of our guttering and all of our downspout which was functional is now gone and left this wayby RCV, (also listed in report and we have pictures). Insurance even had the skylight on there estimate to be replaced and RCV did not replace the skylight. Heat stack pipes were to be replaced and wasn't, they just sprayed painted them which we have pictures of as well. RCV has done a very very poor job on our home and has done more damage than good. Matt also stated I got out of my chair and acted like I was going to hit him, this is non sense. Jay is the only one I have had words with and that is because Jay got in my face because I was upset over RCV's poor quality of work. I also requested bonding and insurance information from RCV and Jay sent me an expired bond and insurance information with an insurance company they no longer had insurance with (still have the email). I told RCV from day 1 I didn't trust any contractors and I would be checking their work, ands that's just what I did and they got caught. How many other home owners (especially the elderly) have they done this way and got away with. Like I said I would be more than happy to let anyone come and look our home and the work RCV has done to it. I also have all emails and text messages from RCV for anyone's review that would like to see them. We can prove our case.

Jay Nelson called me back promptly when I left him a message about my job. He sent his crew out to get me an estimate right away, and the work was completed within days. This was a great help to me, since I had been getting water in my basement as a result of the improperly installed downspout for one of my gutters. I had called another contractor before RCV, who promised to get back to me but never did, so working with RCV was a pleasure. Overall, I was very pleased with RCV's prompt and professional service.

I'm still amazed at how quick and professional RCV is. I contacted them last fall about an estimate - they got back to me right away. My wife and I decided to wait until the Spring to replace the roof, and I wrote them on a Thursday letting them know that we'd like to move forward, and that we were aware the price might change. They wrote back immediately and said they would honor the estimate from the fall. We signed the estimate and emailed it on Saturday. On Monday morning they called and said they would be able to install the roof that afternoon. They delivered the materials to our driveway in the early afternoon and shortly after a team of extremely professional and obviously skilled installers came and went to work. The next day someone came by to make sure caulking was ok (it rained a little bit towards the end of the install). He went up and inspected/re-caulked. I HIGHLY recommend RCV. Extremely professional and fast. The roof looks great and they cleaned up very well. A+

I discovered that the OSB under the siding on the chimney was failing due to water infiltration. RCV came within 24 hours to look at the problem in order to give me an estimate. They came back the next day to cover the chimney with a tarp to protect it from future damage (before they had sent an estimate, and at no charge). RCV was the only company who correctly diagnosed the problem (chimney cap failure) in their estimate, and they were less expensive than another company who did not include replacing the chimney cap. RCV did the work promptly and professionally, and were responsive to my scheduling constraints. I couldn't ask for anything more!

It went very well. They came right away and checked the roof. They then gave us an email estimate for the gutter guards, and when we gave them the go ahead they came out that afternoon to install them. I would highly reccomend and use this company again.

I discovered a leak in the ceiling of our lanai this morning that originated from one of 2 skylights. RCV responded very professionally & was able to have the job completed the same day. Very nice young men performed the services & appeared to be very honest & forthcoming. They even cleaned the skylights while they were making repairs. I'd highly recommend RCV based on my experience today.

After getting an estimate via email on April 7th, I responded back that the file format wouldn't open and could they fax it. No response. I physically went to their office. Because no one is in the office full time, I had to make myself available to their schedule. Jay told me that they would be there on Wednesday, April 15th. They showed up sometime after 1pm on Wednesday April 15th and neither Jay or Matt were on jobsite. The work was completed/supervised by their laborers only. My father who is a general contractor with 35+ years experience, checks in and calls me to tell me that they are throwing shingles on without using some plywood to help the shingles lay flat in one corner of the house. In addition to that, they ruined a 3x6 landscaping bed of hostas and broke a branch off a $180 smoke tree I just planted last year. They finished the job about 8pm that evening and as they started to leave, I noticed part of the roof was installed wrong. I called Matt who tried to tell me it was properly installed and if they fixed it, it would void the warranty. My father called the shingle company and the shingle company (Owens Corning) told them that the shingles I wanted on that particular section of roof were to spec. Matt was to come out the next day to see what was going on. After 20 minutes past what time he said he could be there, I called him to ask if he was coming out. He says, yeah sure if someone is going to be there. I scheduled off work and my dad had been waiting there since 9:30. Matt came out and agreed the roofers had installed it wrong and that they would be out that day to fix it. They also took back material that was never deducted from my bill. Someone from their office called me on Friday April 17th that the roofers would be finishing up and was wanting to know if I was going to pay my bill. I said send me the link and I will pay online. Again on Monday April 20th, I was contacted again about paying my bill, which technically would not be past due until Monday April 27th. I felt like they were more responsive about me paying my bill than any other part of the transaction.

RCV roofing were timely and professional. Repairs were made in time stated and at a fair price.
