The contractor showed up for a "consultation" that consisted of telling us the spring needed to be replaced (well yes, it's in two pieces and we already told you that over the phone) and that Lowes does not do that work (again, why not mention that BEFORE we paid you to come out). He did suggest a couple of places in town that can replace a spring. He was there for less than five minutes. We do not understand the purpose of this visit that we paid for and will be hiring someone else to not only replace the spring, but install the new opener.
Description of Work: We needed to replace a broken spring and have a new garage door opener installed.

The experience was mostly positive. They worked quickly and the quality of the work seemed to be good. The quality of the materials and everything was quality. There's only one thing we're still trying to resolve and that is they put an exhaust fan up in my attic to replace the old one and it never shuts off, it just keeps running. So, for the past month I've been trying to get somebody back out here to take a look at it because I know it shouldn't constantly be running. The reason we have the fan is to push the hot air out of the attic and it's not hot up there anymore. They were about an hour late.
Description of Work: I had a new roof put on a couple of months ago through Lowe's.

Caused about $10,000 worth of damage at least, not to mention a huge awful hassle. Lowe's demurred accepting responsibility and I received no compensation whatsoever from the store. The washing machine is unusable but not reimbursement there either. soThe washing machine was also defective because it had plastic connectors to connect with a metal supply line which cannot sustain a permanent connection which any plumber knows. So very bad quality washing machine, incompetent installation, and failure to accept any responsibility whatsoever.
Description of Work: Lowe's delivered a new washing machine which was installed by people with whom they subcontract; according to my plumber months later the washing machine connections were installed poorly resulting a drip from the connection which flooded my basement.

I didn't know that the size had to be adjusted at the store. I ruined one shade in discovering that. It was not noted on the package. I returned to the store with the existing shade to be used for measurement. Bought one more shade. Only 2 of the 4 trimmed shades fit. Returned a second time with the original shade to be used for sizing. Two shades trimmed. One fit. Returned a third time to the store with the original shade to be used for sizing. Rather than trimming last shade a third time, the store cut a brand new shade. It fit. The service at the store is deplorable. It is difficult to find someone to assist you. On the second visit, the first time I came in to have the shades trimmed, I had to wait 15 minutes while the clerk was on the phone. Finally a second clerk, the person assigned to the department showed up and said she had to help out up front because someone was helping a customer take something to his car. The third time I found a clerk in another department who paged the clerk who worked in the department with the shades. I returned to the shade department. There was a clerk talking to a man. Now seeing me, she bid the man a fond goodbye. Clearly they knew each other and she finally helped me. I only go to Lowe's as a last resort. Menard's is better.
Description of Work: Purchased 4 Levelor shades at $20 each. No one in the department.

Lowe's is very good. They are the only one in town. I go to Lowe's three times a week. I do my repairs and fixings because i live in the middle of no where. I buy my supplies from there. They do a great job. I go there for hardware, windows, doors, and lumber. Whatever i need, that is usually the store i go to.

Dolan was fantastic. I came in with my plan so discuss them. We come up with a plan. He was just great. They were great. From time to time, I had to talk with somebody else that was there because Dolan might not have been there. He did a fantastic job on helping me with the cabinet people. When I had a cabinet that came in from the manufacturer that had a floor in it, he ordered me a new one. There were no questions ask and the new one came in. I really like working with them. They were fantastic. The guy started on the flooring and I had a phone call and went in the other room and when I came back, they had it in. It’s like they laid it down in 20 minutes. I did a lot of shopping around and I’ve had to say I had the best deal with them. We had cabinets that they had to redo and actually they came fairly fast. They worked around my schedule just fine.
Description of Work: I used Lowe's to remodel my kitchen. The remodeling includes new cabinets, put new insulation in, put new lights in the ceiling, new appliances, added cabinets that it didn’t have before, dishwasher and new floors.

Their pricing is same as everybody else, nothing special. I like their store and their way of doing things. Most of it is self-service, so when I do need help they're very helpful in their interaction with the customers.

I am a veteran so they give me a 10 percent discount on everything I buy. Their return policy is good. They stand behind the products they sell. I am totally satisfied with the shopping experience.

We purchased a washing machine from Lowe's due to the fact that the price was competitive, the washer we chose was there at the store in stock, the new washer would be delivered to our home at no cost in three (3) days, and our old washer would be taken away at no cost.After waiting around home to hear from the delivery personnel on the scheduled day of delivery and getting no call, we called Lowe's to check. The delivery dispatcher said we were not scheduled for delivery that day. In fact, upon searching records, the dispatcher said we were not scheduled for delivery until the middle of the following week, eight (8) days after our in-store purchase.When we asked to speak to the salesperson who provided the delivery date, it was reported that he could not talk to us about this since he was busy servicing new customers. We asked to speak to the store manager who then said he would investigate and give us a call-back. Within a half hour, the manager called back to let us know he would do every thing he could to "squeeze" us into the next day's delivery schedule, but that we should not take that as a certainty due to the fact that their delivery schedule was full with deliveries to other customers. He could make no definite promises.Upon receiving no delivery 'alert' call the next day as promised, we again called Lowe's to check and the same manager responded to say that he didn't call since he didn't know when the machine might be delivered. He said he would investigate further and give us a call-back. Within a half hour, the manager called to let us know that he had managed to work us in for a delivery that day, but no time frame was available. He hoped it would be sometime between 9:00AM and 5:00PM.The delivery occurred at 5:00PM and the only bright spot that came as a result of this business transaction was the professionalism and efficiency of the two delivery men, Ross and Tyler. These two men installed our new washer, verified its operation and then hauled away our old washing machine.
Description of Work: Lowe's sold us a washing machine to us which was already in their store. They agreed to sell us the washing machine and have it delivered to our home three (3) days following the purchase and to give us an phone call alert the evening prior to the actual delivery along with an estimated time of delivery.

We found out later (24 hours later) that the installer has up to 48 hours to contact you to schedule the installation. When our installer finally called she said they would be out on Friday morning to install. I contacted Lowes and was told that the salesman did not have the authority to promise me an installation by Thursday, or even by any date. On Friday morning, when the installer was supposed to come, we received a call from the subcontractor saying her installer had called in sick, and that they would not be able to come until Tuesday of the next week. I called Lowes and was told that they would try to find another installer who could do the installation that day and that "we will call you back." After waiting four hours with no return call, I called Lowes again, and was told that they would try to call the installer and see what the status was. They finally called me back and said they would be out to install the toilet that afternoon or evening but that it "might be late." We went without a toilet in the master bath for more than a week.
Description of Work: We purchased a new toilet and installation on Monday for approximately $350. We were told by the salesman that it would be installed not later than Thursday. We were also told that we would be called within 24 hours by the installer to schedule the actual installation time. The salesman apologized for not having the repair parts for the toilet that was broken ( a Lowes exclusive line, Aquasource) but that it was basically a "throw away toilet." So we had to buy a new one.

They were extremely responsible. They were on time when the subcontractor wasn't getting back to me fast enough. They tracked him down and changed that. The contractor did excellent work on budget. I had no complaints at all. I would absolutely use them again.

We had a very bad experience with the delivery of a refrigerator and range we purchased from Lowe's. Lowe's did not deliver these appliancs on the date scheduled and no on called to explain why. When the appliances arrived the next day (after several calls to the store by us), the delivery guys damaged the refrigerator bringing it through the door because they did not remove the refrigerator door. After several calls to the store, they agreed to replace the refrigerator and reduce the price due to delivery problems. When the replacement refrigerator finally was delivered, the Lowe's delivery guy mentioned that their truck was not properly equipped because management was trying so hard to decrease the store's costs. We also purchased a dishwasher and microwave from Lowe's at the same time, which were delivered on time and installed quickly and professionally by an independent contractor arranged by Lowe's (Action Appliance Installation). I suggested to Lowe's they eliminate their own delivery staff and use independent contractors

They were on time. Since we bought at Lowe's, we used their installation and we did not have to pay sales tax on our purchase. It was nice as it saved us couple of dollars. They seemed to be very knowledgeable about what they were doing. I did not have any dislikes. There were no issues or complaints. Depending on what the work is, I would use their services again in the future.

I am not sure I would use them again in the future. If I could afford them, I might. I think they are overpriced. I would like to use them again in the future, but I am not sure I can afford them. I am very satisfied with the appearance of the blinds. They are a custom made type blind but I thought they were overpriced. I would like them to be matching another room so that they would be the same blinds and that would be the only reason that I would order those again.

I ended up buying my washer and dryer from Lowe's because they were the only place in town that carried the highly-rated models I was interested in, and because they offered 12 months interest-free financing. I got a good deal and appliances that work, but it was not a good shopping experience. In the store it's just about impossible to find someone who can give you any information -- so do your research before you go. Even after I decided what models I wanted, I had to walk around for 20 minutes trying to find someone to take my order. When I did find an employee, he acted like he was offended, grumbling and doing everything in the slowest way possible as if to show me how totally unhappy I was making him by asking him to take my money. Lowe's is not a place I will go back to unless it's absolutely necessary. Delivery and installation was ok and basically on time. The installers tracked mud into my house, though. Where did they find mud on a dry sunny day in August? Overall, I am not impressed with Lowe's people. But I got the appliances I wanted at a good price. Since I use the appliances several times a week, and since I don't have to deal with Lowe's employees ever again, I guess the overall deal was not bad. I would purchase from Lowe's again if and only if they were the only option for the particular appliance needed. Given a choice, I'd go elsewhere.

I ended up going to them because they were having a sale. I was looking at Sears as well, who offered me slightly under Lowes’ sales price. I went back to Lowes, and they offered me another 10% off the sale price, so we ended up getting the fridge for a great price. The service on the front end was superb, and their price negotiation was great. The installation was okay. They were neat and did not make a mess, but they were not quite as helpful as they could have been. I still had to re-install the door handles and do the leveling myself, but they did a sufficient job of bringing it and hauling it up the stairs. The service in the store was wonderful, and I was very happy with them.
