Jj's Handyman Services

Description of Work: JJ's Handyman Services performed a wide range of work on our house between May and December 2011: painted the exterior of the house, installed four new Anderson windows and two new Anderson sliding glass doors, painted and repaired two decks. Most of this work was completed satisfactorily. I have several major complaints, however: 1. I paid for a set of window inserts ($130.24, in November 2011) which were never delivered and I was never reimbursed despite repeated requests. 2. A large deposit of $3,000 was collected in June 2011, out of which final labor and materials were to be paid, with any balance returned to me. The final bill however was inflated by excessive labor claims (56 hours in November, although my calculations showed 27 hours), a surcharge of $870, in addition to the window inserts which were never sent. 3. Copies of receipts for the 6 Energy Star windows installed were never provided to me despite repeated requests. 4. Repair of a shower door was never completed though I was charged for 6 hours labor ("searching for shower parts"), a task which I had to employ another person to undertake (without any problems) a month later, at a total cost much less for labor and parts than what I was charged by JJ for his futile "search." 5. Finally, the large sliding glass door in the upstairs bedroom was installed backwards, which I did not realize until it was in place. My protests were dismissed by JJ. I am reluctant to file such a negative report on JJ's Handyman Services, because all began well and most of the work was done well. However, his unprofessional behavior in the matters enumerated above leave me with no choice. I could not recommend him to others.

Description of Work: I used J J's Handyman Service to help redo a kitchen and floors. They also put doors in and built some cabinets.
