This review is actually for Republic Services. This company is horrible!! Do not use them for garbage removal. They are over double in price from their competitors and there billing activity is very suspect. They quote you low in the beginning, but every bill afterward will have suspicious additional costs they add in until eventually you are paying double what you were initially quoted for! I've heard even higher from other customers, but when they jacked my bill up to twice what I started paying them, that was when I was ready to leave them as a customer. But apparantly me leaving them and no longer being a customer did not stop them for billing me additional fees! They have sent me a letter threatening collections for 6.88 that I don't even know what is for as its the first letter I received from them since leaving their service. I'm being threatened for collections of a bill I was never notified of and for services I did not receive. And based on other online reviews I am by far not the only victim of this company's crazy billing tactics. So not only do you over pay for what services you do get, you'll be charged for services you don't get! ANY garbage removal company would probably be better than this company! And I mean ANY!!

We have had Hoosier Disposal (now Republic Services) for almost 3 years. When it was Hoosier Disposal, they were pretty good about picking up our trash on our scheduled day or calling if there was a problem they couldn't. Once Republic completely took over, the service tanked! We would go a few weeks without our trash being collected with no call as to why. After a few times I called to complain only to be told that they would pick up all our trash that was missed. The final problem was our trash not being picked up but every other week for about 6 weeks with no explanation. I called to complain only to be told my can must not have been outside by the required time. I told them to quit making excuses and cancel my account. She informed me that no one in our neighborhood had complained when I know several neighbors who had called because it was posted on our neighborhood facebook page. Hoosier (now Republic) disposal is terrible and does not care about their customers at all. They only take your money and refuse to give a refund when you cancel. I will never use this service again!!!

For more than ten years, we have used the Sears and Son trash removal company. They were wonderful to work with. We live on a private driveway off S Smith Road but they had no problems with driving up the driveway to service their three customers who also have homes in this private addition. In March 2014, Sears was acquired by Hoosier Disposal and fortunately they kept our Sears driver on staff. The service continued as before and I had no complaints. The service costs approximately $20/month or $240/year, which is a very fair price. Two weeks ago, Hoosier Disposal sent a letter stating that they would no longer be collecting trash from loose bags or from trash cans owned by owners. Instead, they would deliver a large container designed to be lifted by their truck. They delivered the container and left it on our property, not on S. Smith Road, as they did with the other three customers. Last week, on the designated day, Thursday December 18th, the trash was not picked up and we called them. They said they'd changed routes and perhaps the new driver was not aware of the trash can locations. My wife explained the driveway layout and where the container was and they said they'd collect the next day. They never picked it up and we called them on Monday 12/22, when they said they'd try again that day. They never came and I called them again on 12/23 when it was explained to me that the reason they did not pick up was that the container was not left on the actual county road, (S Smith Road). I explained that I left the container where they had dropped it on our property two weeks ago. I explained that for more than ten years Sears had picked up the trash on our actual property, which is more than 100 yards from S. Smith Road, including since the acquisition of Sears by Hoosier Disposal in March 2014. The lady with whom I spoke told me that their policy was not to do so and that the driver was wrong to do so. I explained that it was not in any way practical for me to drag the trash can 100 yards from my house to S Smith Road, but she just repeated their policy. I am cancelling my service. Several other trash collection companies in Monroe county are quite prepared to pick up on the property and we'll be trying one of those.
