Garage Doors Plus

I first called Garage Doors plus when one of the springs on my garage door broke. They were very punctual and polite, but did not have the right spring to replace my broken one. They did a temporary fix and told me they would call when the new spring came in. A few weeks went by and I didn't hear anything. Then the spring on the other side broke, so I gave them a call back, and they were out within the week with two new springs and they replaced one of my pulleys as well. Aside from the initial non-call back, which wasn't really that big of a deal, the work was great and the price was very reasonable. I will definitely call them for service again!

I brought in Garage Doors plus, who showed up promptly, lubricated everything they could do quickly, but the door still squeaked, albeit somewhat less. They indicated it was the best they could do, and charged me $125 for the service call. A couple of weeks later, I contacted Overhead Door, who came out and really fixed the problem.

Vendor was available within an hour or so of an 8 am phone call to do this repair. Replaced both torsion springs as one was broken and the other was the same age. Also adjusted and lubed chain and slider. Completed the job within half an hour.

My remote was communicating with the garage door, but the door would not work. I contacted Garage Doors Plus on a Saturday morning, Tom called back quickly, and came to my home immediately. He diagnosed and fixed the problem in around 15 minutes and gave me a good explanation of what he was doing. I would definitely recommend Tom to anyone and would call him again!

I called the provider in the morning and he was able to work me in after lunch time. One of my springs had snapped and the automatic opener could no longer lift the weight of the door. The service man was knowledgeable and efficient, and was done in less than an hour. He even asked if I would like the second spring replaced as it could fail in the near future. He discussed best maintenance practices for getting the most out of the system and keeping it as quiet as possible. When I asked him the lifespan of a spring system, he had the answer immediately and broke it down into normal usage patterns and estimated life. I checked his math later and it was spot on!! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Garage Doors Plus.

I contacted Tom at 8am Monday morning. I told him my situation and he asked me "when would I like to make an appt." I said, "How about right now." I met his son ( employee) about 30 minutes later. Steve assessed the problem and explained to me how, when, and cost. By 1pm I had a new, properly functioning garage door. Great! I would recommend them and use them again. Many service providers charge a trip fee plus hourly rate even for a quick repair. They made this repair quickly and charged the amount quoted as the minimum charge, without ridiculous up charges. Very fair.

I said it all in the paragraph above. They completed their work so efficiently and quickly that I hardly had the chance to talk with them.

Same day service, thank goodness! And they fixed the broken cable on our ancient garage door very quickly and inexpensively. Will definitely call them again, and plan to buy a replacement opener and door when the time (inevitably) comes.

He showed up the first day I called and was very easy to talk to. Hew new what he was doing and helped me reduce the cost of the service with his suggestions. Highly recommended.

One of my favorite things about working with Tom and Garage Doors Plus is that he was very available and helpful. When I called to set up the appointment, and when I called multiple times about other things he answered the phone. I debated between a few different styles of garage doors, and he came to my home a couple of times to bring me samples so I could see the difference between different designs and different amounts of insulation. Tom was patient and answered all of my questions. I ended up going with a nice garage door, but certainly not the most expensive door I was considering. Tom respected my decision and didn't try to convince me that I needed a more expensive door. I like that the Garage Doors that Tom buys and installs are made in Illinois. Our new belt drive opener is very quiet. I also like that keypad entry and the safety sensors of the opener a lot. Sometimes contractors make decisions without asking the homeowner. Tom gave me a choice about how to add some weatherproofing for the garage door, and I really appreciated that he gave me two options and asked what I preferred. Overall, I was very happy with Tom's responsiveness and knowledge.

They arrived promptly at the agreed upon time. Took the time to accurately determine exactly what the source of the problem was and had the parts and tools on hand to repair everything in the same visit. They took the extra time to address a couple of additional issues to help avoid future problems.

Garage Doors Plus came within a couple of hours of my phone call. The gentleman determined the old unit was no longer able to function and that a new unit would be necessary (the old one was 22 years old, so I didn't feel as though he was trying to sell me something I didn't need). He came the next day, installed the new motor, key pads, sensors and programmed new garage door openers. He was professional, helpful and answered all my questions. I would recommend Garage Doors Plus to anyone who asked.

I picked them off Angie's List. They were very polite and very prompt. They came around within a couple of hours and had a look and did the service. There was a part that I had to go buy because it was a bit more than normal. They came in two days later for me. They did a great job. I was very happy. I was happy with the price. I didn’t really do any other research, but I thought that their price was reasonable. The quality was excellent; I couldn’t do it. With regard to responsiveness, they were very quick. They came out the same day within a couple of hours. I would definitely use them again in the future.

The technicians were well acquainted with their work. They knew which tools to use to preform the job safely and proficiently. They were courteous and cheerful when preforming their job.

See above I am uncertain of the repair dates. The first repair was $60 and that was about a year prior to the second repair,which was $150.

I had no idea what was wrong with my car and a friend who was doing my roof told me what the problem was. Even though I didn't know whter I had a wooden or steel door, the repairman sent his assistant back to get the proper spring immediately upon inspecting my door. They had it fixed before 9 AM. I was so appreciative as the temps dropped into single digits that week, and there was snow. Glad to be able to get back into my garage.

Called the day after Thanksgiving, and happened to catch the him in the office. He came right out and determined that he would need to pick up an extra spring in Indianapolis, as it is best to replace both springs when one breaks. He came and finished the job while I was at work--did a fine job at a reasonable price.

The Friday before Xmas (a Tuesday) at ~5:30, we had a tension spring break -- Disaster! But we called these guys, they answered, asked if we needed the right away or could wait til the morning; we could wait -- they showed up at 9:30 on the dot (like they said they would)... And fixed it i about 15 min -- replaced both springs, tightened the chain, and had the door closing perfectly. No complaints -- overall it seemed pricey, but I have no basis for what this should have cost given emergency service on a holiday weekend.
