First Choice Professional Painting

It was a little expensive, but they did a good job.

He said that he would start the work the following week. He then had to move it to the following week. It's a brick house, so he did power wash it to prep, but never started the actual painting work. There was also some rotted wood, and one of his workers came to take out the bad wood but never came back to put in the new wood. We gave him a $900 deposit, and at some point we had a confrontation and he did go to get a $200 cashier's check, so we are currently still out $700. I don't even think we should be responsible for paying for the power wash and we will need to wait until the spring to have the work done now and it will need to be power washed again at that point. I texted him last weekend saying that he needed to give us the $200 and repair the wood by November 5th, and he said on Tuesday night (November 4) that he would be there and he would take care of it, but he never came.

They did a great job painting but after a year the paint started to peel. We have tried to contact them but their answering machine is always full

My wife and I recently decided to have some interior painting done in our home and we contacted First Choice Professional Painting to give us an estimate on the cost of the job and the time needed to perform. We had contacted them because they were listed on Angie?s list. I read all of the reviews for those participants listed in the Bloomington, IN area. Brandon Hood called and we set up an appointment to view the scope of the work and give us a estimate. He showed up on time and after viewing the rooms to be painted and recommending a color scheme with a reasonable cost estimate for the job, we decided to proceed and hired him to do the work to be performed on the following Wednesday. On Sunday he called and asked if he could move the schedule up to do the job on Monday, the next day. We agreed with the changed schedule. He and 3 others, a crew of 4, showed up on Monday at the agreed upon time. My wife and I had prepared the rooms to be painted by moving small items out of the area, and also removing switch plates and outlet covers. Within 10 minutes they were at work patching holes, taping the floors, and starting the ceiling. During the day they were efficient, courteous, hard working, and all business. We found it easy to relate with them, and they asked questions before proceeding with any questionable activity. We had initially expressed some doubt that they would be able to finish the job in one day. They painted the ceilings with 1 coat, 2 coats on the walls and 1 coat on the baseboards and trim in the front entry way of a split ranch, and the living room, dining area, kitchen, and bedroom hallway. They were good about cleaning up and protecting furniture that was still in the work areas. The job was finished ahead of schedule, and within the amount quoted for the job. The extra paint for the walls and trim was left with us for future touch-up. I would unequivocally recommend them for any work that they choose to bid on. We will hire them again if we have a need for interior / exterior painting services.

Owner Brandon Hood and crew completed project in just under a day. Had good communication and follow ups thru out bidding and scheduling process. Prompt replys made to all inquires. Brandon was present and did some painting as he supervised the work. Crew was careful not to get stain/paint on adjacent surfaces and shrubs. Brandon and crew were responsive to being sure any and all missed spots were redone to owners satisfaction. All used paint cans, etc. cleaned up before crew departed. Over all a fine job by a hard working group.

They got started later than they we supposed to, but finished on time, and did and excellent job. They stuck to the quoted price, even though the trim and doors took five coats to cover! We thought it look fine with 4 coats, but Brandon wasn't satisfied until the fifth coat dried. He takes great pride in his work, and is maybe even a little OCD about it. That is not a bad trait to have in your painters. There was an entire crew of 6 guys working on the project to get it done on time. The work is excellent. We are super happy an will hire First Choice for our next painting project.

I was very impressed with Brandon Hood and his painting company, First Choice Professional Painting. Brandon came out very promptly to look at my house when I first called him and had an estimate ready for me within days. His bid was considerably lower than those of other painters I contacted. He was able to start work right away and had the whole job done in less than two weeks. During this time he was quick to respond to my phone calls when I had questions and was good about notifying me when his crew would be showing up to work and about what they would be doing. Overall, I was very satisfied with the job his men did, and I've already received several favorable comments from my neighbors. I would recommend First Choice without hesitation.

Brandon is the owner and he met with my wife and did an excellent job of picking out wonderful bright and vibrant colors for all of the rooms to be painted. 2 days later he sent a "crew" over to the house to do the actual painting. The crew did a very poor job of neatness by splattering paint over many edges of baseboard, ceiling, outlets, and even the floor. We had to call them back the next day for some clean-up and a second coat in 3 rooms. They failed to remove some items from the walls prior to painting and failed to protect some items from getting paint on them. We were not about to call them back a 3rd time , so we ended up doing some clean up and touch up ourselves. Perhaps if Brandon had been more proactive in the actual painting or supervised the crew more diligently we may have enjoyed a more favorable experience. At any rate we felt that for the price we paid we deserved a much more professional job!

Brandon answered the phone on the first call, and scheduled an estimate on the same day. He came out and provided a prompt estimate in terms of paint and in terms of the cost. Once we had agreed he honored his Angie's List promotion and power washed the house the same evening! We provided the paint and he had workers arrive the next day in the morning. Despite the heat and humidity of a Bloomington summer they were courteous and prompt and completed the job in short order. The paint looks good and our house has significantly improved curb appeal! Upon completion of the job they returned the remainder of the paint, and walked around the house with us to ensure we were happy with the job.

Brandon (owner of First Choice Profesional Painting) and his crew did an excellent job in staining our house. We were changing colors so it took two coats on everything. This was an early spring job and had to battle the cold and rain, but we got the job. We will use FCPP again without hesitation.

Brandon and his crew were great. They did the work quickly, they rolled with several changes that I requested, their prices were fair, and they never exceeded the estimate. They took good care of our artwork and furniture. They moved things as needed (I didn't have to do that in advance), and everything is in good shape. The house looks wonderful. We are putting it on the market, and we are delighted with the improvement that First Choice provided. We recommend them highly!

Brandon show up as schedule. We paid for one coat of paint but they decided 2 coat of paint looks better so they did the 2nd coat for free. Great service.

Brandon met us on time and provided us with a complete, written estimate. He and his crew appeared when promised, and worked hard from the time they got there until they left. No long lunches, smoke breaks etc. The work was very professional and thorough, and Brandon and his crew were the kind of people we felt comfortable having in our house. The entire crew communicated well with us, and showed a commitment to doing the job completely to our satisfaction. We have used other painters in the past, and First Choice was far and away the best we have used. We have already recommended them to others, and will hire them again for an upcoming project.

Brandon arrived on time to estimate both jobs. He painted the bedroom in November 2012 and finished the work over a couple of days (as he stated in the estimate). The quality of the work was excellent. He noticed that the window sills needed some work but required an enamel coating to prevent future water damage. I appreciated his mention of this so that a new painting job would not be required in a couple of years. I elected to have this work done at a future time. I had Brandon come back to evaluate a complete refurbishing of a large downstairs family room. Over time, the drywall had water damage from condenstation on the HVAC ducting. I wanted the damaged drywall replaced and duct work moisture wrapped before painting. Brandon brought in a colleague with drywall experience who priced the job separately from the painting. All of the drywall work was completed satisfactorily and on time. Bradon made some paint color suggestions that went well with the intended use of the room. He did an excellent job with the painting, and completed the work on the time schedule he originally told me and for the agreed upon price. I have another couple of rooms to remodel in the fall of 2013. I intend to have Brandon do all the painting work. He has good ideas for selecting colors, is easy to work with, and does high quality painting.

Clean up at the end of the job could have been better but overall we are very happy with the work done and the professionalism of the crew. A nice group of guys.

Brandon missed his first appointment to give me an estimate (due to illness, but he did not call to let me know he wouldn't be coming). He gave me an estimate at a later date, which turned out to be $400 higher than the painter I ended up using. He stated he would email his estimate, which I never received. I phoned him, and he never returned my call. The day before the work was to be done, he emailed me wanting confirmation that he was to do the work. I replied that I had found another painter. I did not feel like a valued customer.

Brandon is very busy, but he quickly made time to come out and give us an estimate, along with a lot of advice on colors, accent walls, etc. You can tell he is very artistic. He also likes animals, which is always a good sign. Cheerful, friendly, very professional; he had a couple of young guys (younger than him) that needed a little supervision, but he also has an older (older than Brandon), very experienced painter named David, who is very good and a pleasure to have around the house. So I guess it took them about 3 days to paint the whole downstairs and half of the upstairs, which included 2 full bathrooms.

Fantastic! Brandon was quick to come out to get an estimate and my first impressions were good. He was polite, thoughtful, and was clearly paying attention to detail. When our quotes all came back (three companies), his was considerably less than the others. That made our decision a no-brainer. The painters came out a few days later and got started. They were happy to accommodate a few "special needs" that our house had and they worked quickly. They were friendly and polite, conscientious of the neighbors (no power-washing or music until later in the morning) cleaned up and packed up each night. Most importantly, they did a fantastic job. We are thrilled with how the job turned out and we would recommend them in a heartbeat.

The painters were very friendly and professional. They started on time and worked steadily. They used utmost care ***around this cabinetry*** and the paint went where it should and not where it shouldn't. I'm pretty much a perfectionist and I'll always find something that could have been done better. I did find some places where paint got on some baseboard trim, and a place or two where paint was dripped onto carpeting or tile. But this was the exception and not the rule. The end result was a vastly improved look at a reasonable price. They finished the job in a week, where doing it ourselves was too daunting to contemplate. I would definitely use them again and I would recommend them to friends.

Brandon walked through the project with me the day I called him and provided a verbal estimate on the spot with hard copy a couple days later. Several paint samples were applied to the cedar siding and trim and once we selected the paint & deck stain his team was on the job. There weren't any delays and they finished the job on time within budget. Brandon worked hard to make sure we were satisfied, was onsite several times following up and his team did an outstanding job. I've had several major projects done on the house over the last 20 years and this was the most professional and pleasant experience I've had with a contractor out of Bloomington.

I was referred to them by a paint store. They were great, and did everything they were suppose to do. They went above and beyond what I thought they were going to do. They didn't leave any mess whatsoever. They take pride in their work and do a good job.

The were very professional, showed up when they said they would, and the quality of their work is excellent.

The crew was on time. They were very neat as they went from room to room They finished up and our house looked amazing!

They did a good job for us and were very reasonable. I would use them again in the future.
