We commented before that the installer had not been in the house 15 minutes before he broke one of the pair of bookends that were the NY city library lions. The insurance contacted us and are going to send a check to cover replacing the lion bookends.
Description of Work: Installed phone and internet service and this is an update on that service

Description of Work: I tried my best to avoid having to use Comcast. I wouldn't have graded them so poorly had they not hidden fees. I was told that the installation fee would be $39.95. If I wanted wireless installed as well, it would be an ADDITIONAL $49.95. I said "no thank you" for that, but then I received my first bill with TWO charges for $39.95. When I called in, they said it was a mistake, but only that the second charge should have only been $20. The fact that they never told me that in the first place? "Sorry". I cannot stand dealing with dishonest companies. They tell you they record your call for "quality assurance purposes" - how about they go back and review what they ACTUALLY tell their customers and then do as they say?

After trial period, pricing went up and I'm not sure it is really a good deal anymore, but I don't want to change to Direct TV or Uverse.

It is one of those when there are times when it is good, and there are times when I wish I was back in Virginia, so that I could use another provider. We have been here for 6 years, and we have had Comcast the whole time, and there are times when it works just fine, and times when I want to throw it out of the window. We have 2 DVRs, and one is and older version. My wife has a newer version, and she will want to record a show, and it will record one or two minutes and then stop, or it won't record at all, or it will record something else all together. I have been getting her to take it to the local office to have it switched because we have had nothing but problems with this one. There is a lot of problems going on with the software in it. We haven't had any problems with the internet, unless it is because of weather. We haven't had a problem with the phone except with the voice mail. We have an answering machine on our home phone, and it is one of those that you can be listening to a message and if it a telemarketer, you can delete it, and it will delete and move to the next one. With the voice mail from Comcast, you have to listen to the whole message, and then wait for it to give you the option to delete it. It gets annoying. We are waiting for the new platform to come out, so that we can switch to that. I think the price is expensive. We were paying 130 last year, and a couple months ago, they increased it to 180 Dollars. We are a family of 4 living on disability. Our service kept going out in December, and one time I told them that I was not going to pay until they sort out the issues, and they said it was okay. Then they charged me for not paying it. I called back, and their quickest is, it is computer generated.
