Wednesday August 9, 2023 I had a huge silver maple tree in my back yard. Monday afternoon a large (24” diameter) limb fell over onto our neighbor’s shed. Matt came out to inspect the tree Tuesday morning. After a thorough inspection he found large decay within the main trunk and recommended removal. Today a 7 man crew arrived to take down this beast. Their teamwork along with their impressive machinery got the job done in one long day. Every worker was polite, efficient, professional and never did I hear an utterance of one profane word. After having a difficult time removing the main trunk (6’ in diameter) they graciously allowed my wife and I to have our picture taken on the stump. They even blew off the sawdust to make a good picture. They are worth every penny! “Quality is remembered long after price is forgotten.” I’ll never forget them.

This company is top notch and well worth the money. Their estimate was a little higher then some other tree services. But when they left there was ZERO wood chips, branches or leaves left in the yard. They also did not tear up my yard in anyway, they take all the extra steps to protect your lawn. We have used other company's before and they did leave a mess in the yard and ruts from driving the heavy equipment in the yard. I would recommend this company and worth the little extra money and your yard will be in perfect shape.

Short Review: Jerad and Bluestone were accomodating, patient, and professional. Disclosures: I don't know Jerad, not related by blood or marriage. I have only had this one business interaction with him. I am a paying customer. I am not some sort of internet reviewer for money. I say this because my long review sounds gushy. Long review: Jerad was incredibly patient with us when we were trying to set-up the removal of this 80-90 foot silver maple that overhung our house. If you don't know your trees, the silver maple is one of the crappiest. 70 years ago the developer of our neighborhood decided that he would plant them on every plot... They have a shallow root base, grow fast and wide and shed huge branches easily. I removed a couple of threatening branches myself, but I wasn't going to touch the massive one or the one overhanging the power lines. I got quotes from 4-6 contractors and they were all in the same ballpark, but Jerad/Bluestone had the least amount of scheduled work time. They also had the best equipment (tree mek-saw). I didn't worry at all about the branch falling on my house. Anyways, we had some hiccups in the process because we had to pivot to another home project first due to time deadlines and this caused some issues with financing. We kept getting ready to pull the trigger, but could never afford to. Jerad patiently worked with us and conformed to our schedule. No other company followed-up with me through the process. The day of the job, my family were all sick and I wasn't feeling it. I had forgotten that they were coming even though Bluestone sent me a reminder, and was just not ready to do anything. The Bluestone guys took care of everything (and our yard was a wreck). I didn't have to do anything. And unlike the other contractors (not tree guys) that I have worked with over the past 5 months not one of the Bluestone guys asked me to use my bathroom. Believe me when I say that's a huge plus after the last guy to use my bathroom... It almost killed my kid. I didn't want to use my bathroom after that. When Bluestone showed up, I also changed the plan up on them and asked them to do additional work that we hadn't even discussed. Jerad didn't even blink. Said he would get it done. I thought the job may take the whole day even with the mek-saw because of the additional work. Nope. These guys banged it out in 5 hours and that included clean-up. They even hauled off my unraked leaves. Something the city said they would do and never did. My yard looks better now then it did before and it was a rainy, muddy day. I can't say it any more clearly: This is the most professional outfit that I have worked with in terms of tree removal (also worked with Townsend here, independents up north, and dropped trees myself for money) and probably in general as far as contractors go. Again: Accommodating, patient and professional.

Efficient, fast, professional and courteous. Took only a couple hours. The team that came out had the knowledge and proper equipment to be able to make very fast work of the job. This included a thorough clean up so you couldn't even see they had been there. And all of this at a very competitive price. I couldn't be happier with the result.

Communication via phone and internet was so good that we didn't need to meet in person. Weather caused some delay due to soggy driveway, but our job was not an emergency situation. Bluestone chose their optimal workday for the hilly and somewhat distant site, and their work completely fulfilled our exact requests at a very fair price that was clearly established in advance.

They gave me one of the best price quotes and performed the work in a timely manner. Very professional.

Jerad and his crew were extremely efficient, worked quickly and left all in great shape. They were even willing to add a bit more trimming per our last minute request.

They were very good at responding via email, came and provided a reasonable estimate, and were prompt in setting up a day to remove the tree. We were happy to have the wood remain as firewood, and had--in writing via an email--that they would "cut it into firewood size" at the estimated price, "but [we] would be responsible for the placement" in our yard. I agreed to these terms. First, the crew cut down the tree and left it in HUGE chunks all over our backyard. They just left. I was unable to go out and speak to them, and my husband asked whether they were going to cut it up, but the owner Jerad said they were not. I couldn't believe the mess they left! I wish I could include photos! 8 foot long, 3 foot in diameter chunks of the tree lay all over my yard, flower gardens. They left branches that fell on my other plants. When I saw this, I immediately called and left a message, and resent Jerad his email stating that he would cut it up into firewood side pieces. They returned 2 days later when we were at work and cut the larger pieces into semi-movable chunks. They were nowhere near firewood size. They did not clear the awful mess they made. My husband and I had to manage to clear it as best we could around work and our 1 year old. I would NOT recommend this company and I think they should be ashamed of their service. The best I can say is that they were punctual initially and returned emails quickly.

Upon first contacting Bluestone, the phone was immediately answered by a lovely woman who agreed to have Jerad come out for an estimate. He came within the day and sent an email with the estimate that same day! I asked a few questions via email and he promptly answered them all to my satisfaction. Every time I needed to call them (not frequently), the same nice woman answered and would promptly get a hold of Jerad. After we agreed on a date, his crew was here on time and with proper safety gear. Not only did they do an excellent job but they cleaned up afterwards and also made provisions to avoid leaving huge ruts in our yard. We have never had anyone concern themselves so much with making sure the place looked the same when they left! They returned a week later to remove the stumps from last year's tree removal and we gladly paid the bill when it arrived. If we ever need tree services again, we will most DEFINITELY use Bluestone. Jerad and his people are superb!

Arranged a time to review the job the day after I called. He was right on time. I had an estimate for the work later the same day. Work was completed fast - 6 large trees removed and an additional 6 smaller trees removed. Price was good. Communication was excellent - called on phone and communicated by email. Made a big job -- easy. Professional. Excellent work. Would definitely use again.

I was very pleased with the work. The price was lower than the other quotes I received and the service was reliable and professional. I also like that they had a woman on the tree-removal crew.

I interviewed and got bids from 4 different tree and quot;expertsand quot;. Jerad of Bluestone was the best by far. He was prompt, professional and clearly experienced in every sort of tree service problem. His price was in line with most the other bids but what stood out was his clear grasp of what had to be done to safely remove this very huge 150+ yr old Beech tree without creating any residual damage to adjacent trees and vegetation. The day of the big event went just as Jerad had explained and the relief we felt when the big Beech tree was no longer threatening our home was incredible. Bluestone Tree Service will definitely be our and quot;go toand quot; tree service whenever we need ANY trees taken care of in the future.

Bluestone was a pleasure to work with. They were communicative and efficient, and cleaned up our yard well after the tree removed. We would definitely use them again.

We liked Jerad's estimate the best of those we received, and emailed him to schedule a time. He came by to do the work on 3/22. He worked by himself and finished nearly everything that day, including stacking everything up neatly on our firewood holders, and the remaining firewood next to them. He then came back the next day with a bobcat to remove the 10 foot chunk of the cherry tree and the trunk. He smoothed down the mound of dirt where the trunk was. We received the bill the following week, and despite taking a smaller chunk of the cherry than he originally wanted, the estimate stood firm, and he only charged us $350. We were very happy with Jerad's work, have recommended him to others, and plan on contacting him for future tree removal needs.
