Overall it was horrible and a waste of time and money.
Description of Work: The Bixler Bros. were to repair the leak around the chimney. They were never prompt. They did shoddy workmanship all the way through. They did not finish the job. We hired another contractor to complete the job and he said that the boards that the Bixlers put around the chimney would have caused a fire hazard.

Correspondence began May 24, 2008 by my home telephone to Clay's cell. He showed up initially and gave an estimate for several home repairs besides the services described, including floor patch, drywall patches, hanging two bedroom doors, replacing a screen, and fixing or removing a ceiling fan. My father, who lives in another state, sent the Bixler Brothers a $400 up front payment for materials. The check was cashed long before the Bixler Brothers contacted me again, and that came after several unanswered telephone messages. Today is July 9. Clay and Corbin Bixler have showed up exactly twice, to do the work mentioned above. The first time was very short, where they put in another kitchen faucet.? Corbin's cell never worked, Clay's often had a full mailbox and messages my father and I did leave went unanswered. My father and I have been very patient, and I have spent many days waiting for them to show up when they promised to be here. I was starting this report today when Clay finally called back, said he was on his way, and then never showed up, AGAIN. Even when I asked them to please call if they cannot make it, they have not contacted me once to say they could not be here. The day they did show up they worked only a couple of hours and then apparently got called away. I believe a reader can infer what kind of service they will get if they try to use Bixler Brothers. The only thing, as a kind person, I can figure, is that they are way too busy doing other things to be in business for themselves at the present time. Their clients are on the bottom, if at all, of their priority list. If Clay Bixler was having trouble with his phone, I'm sure there are several other telephones he could have used to contact me. I did a people search on Clay Bixler, and came up with several addresses and two phone numbers. Niether number was his. I don't have a report yet on how honest these guys will be in providing an itemized list of expenses and refund of any money they have been paid. In fact, I will have to research this information myself to compare it to their claims. That is, if they bother to respond.
Description of Work: Remove front door. Remove rotted wood under door. Replace wood. Replace door. Replace outside screen door handle. Clay told me that, underneath the door, they used a special kind of board that would resist water, and it is partly true, however, underneath the treated piece is another board they put in, which is untreated. I spilled water just inside the door a few days ago. I cleaned it up, but three days later, noticed that this untreated piece of wood is now warped and will need to be replaced. One other job performed was the removal of an old and replacement with another kitchen faucet.
