From the very first phone call to set up an estimate Affordable Fence and Gates was amazing. I had previously received an insane quote from a competitor (almost twice the cost!), that was going to take weeks to complete once started. I was disheartened to say the least, but was so happy once I spoke with AF&G. They sent someone (David) out quickly and he provided me with an estimate within a day. The estimate was more than fair, and very thorough. I appreciated all of the detail that went into the estimate (unlike the other guy) and he spent time answering my myriad of questions. Once I paid the deposit, I understood it would be 8-12 weeks before work could begin (they are understandably busy, they do such quality work!). As promised I received a call about 7 weeks later asking if the following week would work for me. They estimated 3 days to compete the job (almost 300 feet of steel fence with gates). The day of service two men (Steven and Abdon) showed up right on time. They were kind, incredibly hard working and timely! I was amazed that just the two of them could remove my old fence and install the new one in three days, but they did. They worked consistently through each day, picking up as they went and (importantly) being so patient with my neighbors barking dogs. They were also so patient with me as I walked around with family on video chat bragging about my new fence and showing them progress. Our house backs a heavily trafficked alley, and they worked extra hard one day to get the fence up so that we had more security over night. Often times people are different in front of the customer than they are in private. My neighbor spent a lot of time outside and she kept gushing about how kind and polite they were. Any time I spoke with the two gentlemen they had impeccable manners, and were just overall incredibly pleasant. None of the niceties matter if the end product isn’t good. But my fence and gates are AMAZING. I didn’t know how happy a well made fence could make me! It is a strong fence, not going anywhere. The gates swing perfectly, and lock securely. I really could not be happier and I highly recommend that anyone looking for an affordable fence or gate not look any further. Give them a call today!

I called Affordable Fence in April about repairing or replacing a split-rail fence I had had for several years around two sides of my yard. Mr. Sterrett came out on 4/25, and we walked around my yard and discussed the possibilities. We agreed that the best plan would be to replace the fence with a chain-link fence. He sent me an estimate, and I agreed to it. Originally, they were scheduling for the second week of July. But it turns out they had an earlier opening. On June 25, the crew came out and removed the old fence. They came back the next day and installed the new one. All went smoothly and efficiently. I am completely satisfied, and would recommend Affordable Fence to anyone. The price quoted below includes the cost of the chain-link fence plus $160 for removal of the old split-rail fence.

The gates look and function great, and I was very pleased with how easy it was to get in contact with Affordable Fence. When he came to my home to give me his estimate, Michael took a lot of time to look over both gates and explain everything to me in detail. He followed up promptly with an emailed estimate. My need to get the gates rebuilt was somewhat urgent because one of the gates had fallen over. Fortunately, Michael's team was able to start the next week, working one day to remove the old posts and install new ones, and then a second day to build both gates. The Affordable Fence team members were polite, professional, and worked quickly.

During the initial consultation, Michael measured my space and discussed with me the options for a privacy fence. He was professional and affable. I asked who would be performing the work and he assured me that everything was to be done by company employees and that he does not sub-contract. He had told me that he had several jobs ahead of mine and that we were likely looking at 6 weeks before my job would commence. I was, therefore, pleasantly surprised when I received a phone call from his office a couple of weeks later saying that their workers would be out the following day to get started. Two workers arrived and installed all of the fence posts. About a week later they came back to install the fence panels and post caps, thus completing the job. Time from initial consultation to job completion was less than one month. I am very pleased with the quality of the work and plan to enjoy my new fence for many years to come!

Michael was really a pleasure to work with and the work itself was really great. Michael's communication throughout was exemplary. Promptly returned calls, resolution of problems....you name it, he and his crew were a pleasure. Truth be told, we moved the sides from what we'd mapped out originally. Michael, very patiently, had the posts moved and built where the new measurements took the job. Some of the posts were in concrete and he took it in stride to change them. All the support people for this business are not your run of the mill. You could tell they prize customer service. (Why can't all contractors operate this way?) Michael's wife had messages relayed for prompt call-backs, his staff were really fun, polite and patient. I'd certainly recommend Affordable Fence to others! Explaining my ratings above: quality: there is a gate that had to be built on a slope that was a challenge. To my eye, the inside 2x4's make it look like it is off kilter. In fairness, it is only visible when open. You can't tell anything from the street price: all of the people we asked for bids seemed to come in pretty similarly, Michael included.

The fence turned out more beautiful than we had hoped. we had some pretty exacting custom designs, and they delivered. It was done well, and even under the estimate they gave. The workers were very nice, and they left our yard looking nice, too.

When I called, it was his wife I was able to talk with unlike other companies where they will call you back instead. I called them twice and somebody answered the phone which is nice. She made an appointment right then for him to come out and talk to us. And he came after three or four days after I called which is fairly quick. He came out and measured. He was nice and showed us a lot of options. He was relaxed and it was not kind of a high pressure thing. He seems to know what he was doing. We told him what we wanted and he said he would send us an estimate for the two different things and type of fencing we were interested in. I think we got the estimate within two days. It was fairly quickly that we got the estimate. One thing I like about Angie’s List is that I like their help on finding service providers because I hate dealing with contractors and I just don’t like it. There’s a lot of telephone talk involved and I just find it distasteful and stressful experience. So, I like it when they respond immediately like this guy did. He had a beat up truck and it was not too beat up and it looked like it was a working man truck. I find the person like that more trustworthy. He is not a trashy looking guy like you will think where this guy is coming from. He is not real sleek where in you will think that this guy does not get his hands dirty. So he hauled his stuff in the back and he was dressed like he was at work. He went out and measures right away and seems to know what he is talking about. He is straight forward and showed us some pictures of his work on his ipad. He just seem real down to earth and he does not try to sell you anything. I like somebody who is fairly accessible. The thing I like about Angie’s List is the recommendation. I am the type who does not want to make a lot of phone calls and process like that. So, the first one I see that has good recommendation, that’s the one that I will use. My favorite thing about this guy is that he was okay and I think I can hire him.

The price that I paid them included all the materials and the labor as well. I would absolutely use them again in the future if I need to.

Wow. Michael and his crew are fantastic . We got the estimate and work completed in three weeks. They were very professional and the installers were perfectionist. They removed boards and replaced them when they weren't satisfied with how it looked...I couldn't tell that nothing was wrong, but the knew. They did an excellent job with clean up and even leveled the ground around the fence before leaving! I added a pergola to job and it is beautiful! Highly recommend Affordable Fence. Honest and reliable.

I originally contacted Affordable Fence via Angies List. I received an immediate response and they were extremely flexible regarding scheduling of assessment/estimate. I received an estimate and diagram documenting my vision via email exactly when I was told I would. This may seem like a simple thing, but for anyone communicating with contractors of any sort, communication and responsiveness is a big deal. You DO NOT have to worry about Michael communicating with you. I was kept in the loop and updated regarding progress. While Michael did not install the fence, he did check on progress and my expectations. His employees were respectful of my time and communicated with me in a professional manner. The fence was installed within the time frame I was quoted and was better than my expectations. I have researched and spoken with other fencing companies and was extremely put off with their lack of communication and inflated estimates. I am happy to have contacted Affordable Fence and I suggest you at least let Michael come out and provide you with an estimate, you will not be disappointed.

I was impressed by the concern of all involved to assure that the fence was what I envisioned. I am very pleased with my new fence and with the quality of the service provided by Affordable Fence.

They responded to me very quickly and were very professional. My overall experience with them was excellent.

The price was on par with everybody else I called to get several estimates. I was really pleased, they did a good job. I think something was wrong with the materials they used and the fence ended up working really bad over the past couple of months. I called them, it’s been probably 3 weeks ago and told them about it and within 2 days, they came out and pretty well pulled down the entire fence and put it back up. So, they stood behind it pretty well.

Affordable Fence was prompt in coming out to provide an estimate and then completed the work in the timeframe given and within the estimate. We found their price to be very competitive. We had an issue arise with where some of the posts were set and one of the gates not being to our satisfaction, but after talking to the owner, both issues were resolved without hesitation or question and in a tmely fashion. We are very pleased with the way the fences turned out. They are very sturdily built and attractive.

He returned our calls, came out to our house, and did an estimate. He also did the work in the quoted amount time. He was good to his word and did a great job. He was very thorough and responsive. We didn't pay until we were satisfied, and everything turned out very well. We were very impressed with the service.

This project was a great experience. Michael Sterrett does a great job--from estimate to finish. He did a great job with communication and followed through with what he said. His work crew was prompt, courteous, friendly and worked long hours to get our fence installed promptly. We definitely would recommend using them for any fencing needs and would use them again in the future.
