A-1 Affordable Tree Service

I was unable to be there during the job. Affordable Tree Service dropped a branch on a gutter. I found this out when I returned home. They didn't tell me about it. It was a cash job, so they could deny they did this, but my gutter was undamaged when I left and now needs replacement. They dropped limbs on my garage roof, damaging some of the shingles. Those, too, need replacement. I would like to say this is a unique situation, but a colleague of mine hired them and when we compared notes, we discovered that they dropped a tree limb on his roof, too, damaging shingles. The difference is that he paid twice what I paid. Avoid this company at all costs. There are better tree services in town.

I called A-1 Affordable Tree Service to get a quote and time-line for having 2 trees removed from my property. I left a message, and was called back a few hours later (by that time, I had called 6 other companies). When we spoke, I explained what I wanted done, and that I needed it done very quickly, as a fence was being put in, and one of the trees was in the way of where the fence was going (short time frame I know, but I just purchased the home, 4 days prior). He stated he would take a look at it the following day and give me a quote. In the meantime, I found 2 other companies who gave me a quote the same day, and one of which would do the work the following day. I heard nothing more from A-1 Affordable Tree Service, until after noon the next day and he proceeded to leave a voice message chastising me for not "saving him a drive" by my house when someone else was doing the work. While he is correct, I should have called him, I find it far from professional to leave a rude voicemail about it.

Unprofessional. Fast talker. Would not honor the contract he had me sign- said he could not do the job for the amount HE, himself, had quoted. Was late, didn't return calls, didn't even show up a few days and gave me a new heart-wrenching excuses each time, all of which I assume were lies. His workers smoked on the job, didn't wear any safety gear whatsoever, left huge metal spikes in our yard that we almost mowed over. And BEST of all- they didn't remove ANY of the wood or debris- another part of the contract he did not honor. So we now have 4 enormous trees down in our yard, cut up into gigantic chunks. It was a horrible experience. They quoted such a great price- far less than anyone else- to secure the job, I assume. But EVERYTHING then changed once they actually started the work.

Called and came same day for a free estimate, No one else ever showed up that I called. Started work next day and worked 8 hours straight and came back second day worked long hours again and finished the job
