We are a roofing and remodeling company. We do bathroom remodel, kitchen remodel, flooring (tile, ceramic, vinyl, laminate, wood), room additions, drywall, roofing, siding and painting. We have been in this business for 15 years. We have a reliable and dedicated crew who will put your needs first.
"Josh used the wrong connector in both our showers. He replaced one of them and the leaking has stopped. However he refused to replace the one in our main bathroom. The leak was in the wall and we did not see it until it had warped our brand new laminate floor that we had installed. He cussed out my husband, told me there was nothing I could do about his NOT repairing his work and refused to even replace the leaking part. My husband had to seek help to get the leak stopped and now we will have to pay someone to come in and repair the damage he caused. He claimed it was a faulty part but the plumber said he used the wrong kind of connection for the copper pipes we had and that it would always leak. Now we are worried that the shower he supposedly fixed will also leak. We also hired him to do a job for us in Illinois which he was paid in advance for and refuses to complete. He wanted to bring his entire family to the job site and camp out. When we told him we had heavy equipment out there operating and he could not bring his kids, he refused to finish the job. He told me that he talked to his attorney and that there is nothing I can do about his shoddy work or his refusal to complete the jobs or his refusal to fix the damage he caused. He showed up late and left early many days and caused the job to take much longer then it should have. He put a whole in our drywall and fixed the drywall but had to repaint the bedroom to match the color. He did not remove the wall paper at the top of the wall to do the paint job correctly and he painted about a three inch stripe of white on the ceiling on one side that sticks out like a sore thumb because he did not repaint the rest of the ceiling. He put in an outlet for me but the whole is too big and the outlet cover does not cover all of it. He did not put the trim up in the shower along the floor and there is a gap. He did not use the correct caulk around the tub and never came back to replace it. On the house in Illinois he put down the floor but did not mark or cut out the vents in the floor. The gap he left next to the wall is too wide and can't be covered by the trim. We have to pay someone to fix the gap and we have to pay another person to do the floors in both bathrooms that he was already paid to tile. The shower he put in our one bathroom does not drain properly. The drain is not the lowest place in the floor and I have to manually make sure the water drains. The shelf he put in my shower is too long and sticks out past where the shower curtain goes so I have to cut and tape the shower curtain around the shelf to keep from getting water all over the floor every time I take a shower. He was very friendly at first but very belligerent and cussed us out when he was asked to complete his work and/or repair the damage he caused. He brought his wife to the jobsite and she tried to start a fight with me. I do not want to fight. I do not even want him to ever come back into my home. I do think he needs to pay us the money he cost us and the money he was paid for work he did not do. I also do not want to see him do this to anyone else."

The cost to refinish hardwood floors is $1,900 on average, ranging from $600 to $4,500, depending on the area size, the floor’s condition, the type of wood, the type of coating, and the refinishing method. Traditional refinishing includes sanding the floors, which can be very dusty and costs about $3 to $8 per square foot. Dustless refinishing uses a vacuum to collect dust during the sanding process, reducing the amount of dust produced, and costs about $5 to $8 per square foot.
The cost to install hardwood flooring is about $4,800 on average, ranging from about $1,000 to $12,000. Nationally, the average cost to install hardwood floors ranges from $6 to $12 per square foot for labor and materials. High-end woods and large spaces may cost $13 to $25 per square foot.
Additional cost factors include:
Square footage of the area
Type of wood
Preparation requirements
Type of finish
Location
Floor style and pattern
Plank thickness
Wood grade, color, and grain
It’s time to refinish your hardwood floors when they show signs of age that diminish their overall appearance and function. A few surefire signals that you should consider refinishing your hardwood floors include:
Gouges, scrapes, deep scratches, and dents over a significant area
Discoloration from stains or sun exposure
Water damage causing rotting, warping, or bowing
Weak, spongy, or soft spots in the floor indicating damaged subflooring
Dull and worn appearance across most of the floor
Despite the costly upfront expense, hardwood floors can add value and appeal to your home, making them one of the highest ROI home improvements. In terms of functionality, hardwood floors are very durable and can last several decades when properly maintained, making them well worth the investment. In some cases, installing hardwood floors can even alleviate allergies in household members, as it’s easier to keep this floor type free of dust mites, pet dander, pollen, and other pesky allergens.
Several kinds of wood can be used for wood flooring, not all being hardwood, ranging in price per square foot. You should choose the best type of wood for your flooring based on desired color, cost, durability, feel, and texture.
