Mr. Sivells returned my call promptly and came to our home to do an estimate while we were gone. By the time we arrived home he had left a message describing the work to be done and the estimate. This was followed by a paper copy sent via mail and a subsequent telephone call. Very professional. Norman and Mario did excellent work. The grout matches perfectly and you cannot tell where the repairs were made. The step repair was much superior to work we had previously hired done. They also grouted a couple of cracks that had not been in the estimate at no extra charge. They swept the debris and washed the work area after they were finished. Both men were also very pleasant to deal with. The Sivells' quote was not the lowest but we were extremely satisfied with the final product.
Description of Work: Performed tuck point masonry repairs on arch entry to front porch and repaired concrete steps.

Mr. Sivells is very professional and so are his work crews. He agreed to repair the mailbox for $300, which was less than other estimates. The repairs were so good the mailbox looked like it had never been damaged. He kept me informed throughout the process and was always prompt, polite and helpful. If you need masonry work done, I recommend him highly.
Description of Work: Repaired a damaged brick mailbox that had been struck by a vehicle. Required replacing several bricks, moving a brick flowerbox to its original position and matching mortar to the existing color.

They did a good job. They came out rather quickly and got started just as soon as I got a price from them. Because the job was unexpected, they didn't have time to match modor color, which wasn't a big deal.

I was impressed with how our estimate went. Scott Sivell with me walked the entire house and he and I pointed out areas of problem. Scott took digital photos to use for reference later. The quote was quite reasonable as compared to other quotes we received. Scott's crew did an excellent job, cleaned the work site after the work was finished, and responded the same day when one of our walkway bricks didn't cure well with the new mortar. Scott's worker couldn't fix it because it was rainy and came back the following morning, which was a Saturday, and made the repair.
Description of Work: We have an all brick home. Sivell Masonry tuckpointed and repaired steps, windowsills, walkway, keystone on front porch ceiling, mailbox with flower boxes and repaired chimney.

They were excellent. The only issue was that they were contracted to acid wash the brick, I think they might have been rushed, and forgot about it. However they apologized and came right back out to fix that.

They took care of the problem, it no longer leaks. They did a good job. I did have some problems with it leaking after the first time they came out, so they did come back out and fix it. In the beginning, his responsiveness was not the best. Once he came out the second time, it was an excellent job. It looks real nice and it looks like they tucked and pointed the entire chimney.

The bricks from our front porch slab and capped steps had deteriorated with age. Juan and Mario completely took out the front porch slab and rebuilt it to match the existing brick of our home. They re-capped the steps as well. They were very precise in their work and attended to both quality and detail. They communicated well with us. Scott Sivells, the owner, oversaw the entire project and made it possible to achieve timely completion, in spite of the rain! We are grateful for the fantastic work by Sivells Masonry. We highly recommend this company.

Everything went as planned. The crew showed up around 9:30 and were done by 4:30. All of the areas in question were fixed. The mortar color-match was done with great care. Having everything properly tuck-pointed has made a huge improvement in the appearance of the exterior of our home.
Description of Work: Scott Sivell came out and looked at the brick pointing on our house which was built in 1927. We have a yellow-tone mortar joint which isn't the norm for our area. Red and Brown are the commonly used colors. Scott said that he would be able to match the color and that his crew could start within three days. Scott took many digital photos of the areas that needed tuck-pointing. His crew came out three days later and ground out, chiseled out the bad areas and then filled in the voids with new mortar. He had to rebuild one area of the column between the garage doors. The crew did an excellent job, finishing all of the necessary repairs in one day. They cleaned up everything. If you didn t know that they had been here then you wouldn t know it by the next day. The place was that clean. The Sivell crew was very polite and courteous and I wish I had more for them to do!

We called to receive an estimate regarding brick patio and sidewalk repairs. Scott came out promptly, and went through our needs with us. He indicated he would get back within a few days with an estimate with two different options. It is now three weeks or more since our initial contact and still no estimate. I called a week ago and left a message on his answering machine asking that if he wasn't interested in the job to at least give me a courtesy call and say so, we we can move on with our project and get additional quotes. I'm disappointed to say the least.
Description of Work: No work was performed because we never received an estimate.

The finished result was good, but it took too much cajoling on my part to get it done. Scott never answered his phone and although he always eventually got back to me, it sometimes took a couple of calls to get a response and he did not keep me posted on progress with the job. I had the fencing company booked to install the fence once the columns were built, but the building was completed at least two weeks behind schedule, as a result of which the fencing company had to postpone their work by two weeks. And the one corner column was built six inches out of place - may not sound much, but now I will not be able to have a fence installed on the side of my property because it will not connect to the center of the column. The columns look great and Scott's son and his team did a good job with building them in icy-cold weather - but I just had to spend too much time chasing up the company. If they were more responsive, quicker and followed through with their promises, they would be excellent.
Description of Work: I needed three four-foot brick columns built along the road edge of my yard, between which I later had aluminum fencing installed by another company.

Scott was very responsive in giving us an estimate and scheduling the work to be done. The work was done quickly and professionally. When we called with a couple of problems that we had failed to address, we received a quick response and the work was completed immediately. The crew was very courteous, professional and cooperative. We're very pleased with the work which was done. Our patio looks new again. We would definitely use Sivells in the future if we need any further masonry work.

I explained everything to the guy over the phone. He came out himself, was straight with us and explained what he had to do to fix the problem. He came out when said he would and it was a holiday weekend. He came out the same day we called, he analyzed the problem, took care of it, and they were out here today, finished it and it's lovely. I would recommend them highly.

Scott was professional from start to finish. He is a very pleasant man to talk with and explained the pros and cons of each choice. His crew did a great job tearing down the old porch, propping up our porch roof and cleaning up each day. The only unexpected thing was waiting for the limestone caps; that took a few weeks, but creates a nice clean look as a finished edge.
Description of Work: We have a house that was built in 1914 and the walls of the porch had been damaged by 90 years of water, causing them to bow out. We had Scott completely rebuild the brick walls of the porch and cap with limestone to finish it. It looks beautiful.
