+ 0 moreThey did not properly screen the tenants. The tenants had alleged criminal history and decided to stop paying the rent. Veerkamp Realty permitted the tenants to remain in my residence for 3 MONTHS without paying rent until they were finally evicted. (Per our agreement, after 15 days of being late on the rent, eviction should have taken place!) The tenants DESTROYED my property and stole my appliances. I have spent thousands of dollars to bring the home back into awesome condition. Veerkamp never checked on my property, they were continually late getting our check to us, and as a result, I am the victim!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING real estate related. They never even gave me the deposit to cover losses...basically stealing $1250 from me. The list goes on and on. I am extremely upset by the dishonest lack of concern and diplorable property management from this company.
Description of Work: Veerkamp Realty was the Property Mgmt. company I used to rent out my home from Oct. 2009 to Aug. 2010. They were to screen tenants and manage the property.

+ -1 moreMy experience with Scott Veerkamp was horrible. Do not use this man or his company to purchase real estate. He has a legacy of fraud and was dropped by Remax due to his unethical business practices.
Description of Work: My wife and I purchased a home from Mr. Veerkamp on land contract in August 2006. We have made timely and accurate payments of $900/month to Mr. Veerkamp with the long term goal of owning the home. We have also done extensive renovation to the home as well. In January of this year, we received information from Mr. Veerkamp that the home was being forclosed on. Mr. Veerkamp failed to pay anything to the bank which resulted in my home being foreclosed on after he had promised us that we would be able to pay him on a rent to own type contract. My wife, my three children, and I now have to find another place to live after the children have become accustomed to attending Beech Grove schools. Mr. Veerkamp showed very little professionalism or concern for the well being of my family, the stability that the home provided my children, and lied to us about being able to own this home. This was a calculated exploitative business endeavor by Mr. Veerkamp to defraud me of my money with the false hope of home ownership.
