I thought they did a very good job. They were very professional and I was very happy with it.
Description of Work: I used J & R Painting to paint the main part of our house inside.

HE ONLY CAME OUT WHEN I THREATENED TO CANCEL CONTRACTS. HE WOULD SCHEDULE AND THEN CHANGE THE DATE, OFTEN THE DAY BEFORE, OR SIMPLY NOT SHOW UP. THE JOB WAS NOT COMPLETED, AND ONLY A TOKEN ATTEMPT AT A START WAS MADE. MR. HICKS REFUSED TO RETURN MY DEPOSITS OF OVER $2,700.00 AND I THEREFORE WENT TO SMALL CLAIMS COURT. NEITHER HICKS NOR ANY REPRESENTATIVE EVEN SHOWED UP FOR COURT AND I WAS AWARDED A FULL JUDGEMENT ON 9/28/05. AFTER ALMOST FIVE MONTHS, HICKS HAS NOT ONLY REFUSED TO MAKE ANY PAYMENT, HE WILL NOT EVEN REPLY TO LETTERS OR ACCEPT CERTIFIED MAIL FROM ME.
Description of Work: WORK WAS TO BE FOR EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR PAINTING AND FOR STRIP/SEAL DECK. ONLY POWER WASHED EXTERIOR AND A 2 X 1.5 FOOT "TEST" STRIP ON DECK. DROPPED OFF 16 GAL EXTERIOR PAINT - WAS SATIN FINISH BUT SHOULD HAVE BEEN FLAT FINISH.

THIS ACCOUNT WAS PLACED IN MY APPOINTED SUPERVISOR'S HANDS, WHO UNFORTUNATELY DID NOT COMMUNICATE WITH ME THE RESCHEDULING DATES. HE HAS SINCE BEEN FIRED BY ME. THERE COMES A TIME IN EVERY ORGANIZATION THAT, FOR REASONS BEYOND OUR CONTROL, LABOR ISSUES BECOME A PROBLEM; SUCH AS NOT SHOWING UP FOR WORK ON TIME OR AT ALL. I SIMPLY DO NOT TOLERATE THIS, AND AS A RESULT THINNED MY TEAM FROM 13 TO 4. UNFORTUNATELY THE ONES WHO SUFFER THE MOST FROM THIS ACTION ARE THE CUSTOMERS. MY ONLY RECOURSE IS TO RESCHEDULE THE JOBS. THIS WAS EXPLAINED TO THE MEMBER. SINCE THIS INCIDENT I HAVE PUT TOGETHER A VERY RESPONSIBLE AND MORE PROFESSIONAL TEAM OF 11; WE ARE CAPABLE OF AAA QUALITY, AND ARE KEEPING EVERY SCHEDULED DATES. NO ONE EXCEPT MYSELF IS IN CHARGE OF SCHEDULING FROM THIS INCIDENT FORWARD. I HOPE TO GIVE THESE FOLKS THE QUALITY JOB THEY HIRED ME FOR. ROBERT J HICKS, OWNER, J & R CUSTOM PAINTING
