WE'VE BEEN IN BUSINESS FOR 21 YEARS, SPECIALIZING IN INSURANCE REPAIR WORK. WHEN THE HAIL STORM IN APRIL 2005 STRUCK OUR AREA, WE WERE INUNDATED WITH ESTIMATE REQUESTS FOR HAIL DAMAGE. THE MEMBER CALLED OUR OFFICE ON 4/25/05 AND REQUESTED THAT WE INSPECT HER PROPERTY FOR DAMAGE. PRIOR TO THIS STORM, WE COMPLETED NUMEROUS REPAIR PROJECTS FOR THE MEMBER. WHEN THEY CALLED, THEY STATED THEY HAD NO LEAKS IN THE HOUSE AND THAT THEIR MAIN CONCERN WAS REPLACEMENT OF THE FIBERGLASS PANELS ON THE OPEN PORCH AND PAINTING OF SOME TRIM THAT WAS DAMAGED BY THE HAIL. WE EXPLAINED THAT WE HAD ALREADY RECEIVED NUMEROUS CALLS FOR HAIL DAMAGE INSPECTIONS AND SINCE THEY WEREN'T IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION, WE WOULD FOLLOW UP AS SOON AS WE COULD. WE FELT SINCE WE HAD A RAPPORT WITH THIS MEMBER FROM ALL THE PREVIOUS PROJECTS WE'VE COMPLETED, THAT THEY WOULD BE PATIENT AND WAIT FOR OUR SCHEDULE TO FREE UP A BIT. SINCE WE RECEIVED NO SUBSEQUENT PHONE CALLS FROM THE MEMBER AFTER THE INITIAL CALL, WE ASSUMED THEY WERE WILLING TO WAIT. WE MET WITH THE MEMBER ON 6/2/05 AT WHICH TIME HE INFORMED US THAT HE HAD ALREADY HIRED ANOTHER COMPANY TO COMPLETE THE REPAIRS AS HIS WIFE COULD NOT WAIT FOR OUR SCHEDULE TO FREE UP. WE APOLOGIZED FOR THE DELAY AND TOLD HIM TO PLEASE CALL IF HE WAS NOT SATISFIED WITH THE OTHER CONTRACTOR FOR ANY REASON. WE ASSUMED EVERYTHING WAS STRAIGHTENED OUT AT THAT POINT. WE ONLY RECENTLY BECAME AWARE OF THIS REPORT TO YOUR COMPANY. THANK YOU FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO RESPOND.
