AIR-TITE WINDOW

The service was great. They got me the price of the windows. They installed the windows within a month of me making the order. The guy only took six or seven hours to install all my windows. We got some high quality windows. The windows are still there today and works great just as good as they did fourteen years ago. They are in great shape. We had sixteen windows in that house and they were ready to bring down the price and I thought they were overcharging us. So we decided not to go with them. We would not use them again only because of that.

Our initial quoting process was pretty bad - super high pressure and unwilling to leave us a written quote. The only reason we ended up working with them is that someone my wife worked with knew someone else in the company and assured us they were honest and would be more helpful and professional. To be clear, we thought the product was pretty solid, but certainly more expensive than the other two quotes we received. The second salesperson came and was definitely more pleasant and professional, but "missed" two of the windows which changed what we thought was a pretty reasonalbe quote significantly. I'm not 100% convinced this wasn't a tactic to get us comfortable with the price and then put us in a position to have to make a decision on the fly. Overall the first quote was a bit more than the second which was nice, but still more expensive than anyone else we had come out. Installation went smoothly and we generally like the crew, however the clean up was less than perfect. All quotes we received either included or had additional charges for EPA required clean up measures for older homes that potentially had lead paint. Our home was built in 1939, so we had an additional charge for "special" clean up as EPA required contractors to go above and beyond typically performed clean up (special vacs, plastic everywhere, cordoning off the area to a specified distance, etc.). After they left, in every room we found small bits of paint from the demo, and one of the main reasons we replaced the windows, aside from efficiency, was getting rid of any old paint for our child. Considering the extra fees for the "special" clean up, they should have been more thorough. We like the windows and are generally happy, but would not do business with them again if the opportunity presented itself.

Crew arrived on time. Removed trim and disconnected door alarm chime wires. Removed door hardware. Removed storm and front door. Removed old sill and cut new wood for sill. Installed new storm door, lockset, and new closer. Installed front steel door and lockset hardware. Installed new door trim. Could not reinstall hardware for door alarm chime due to liability rules. Results: On doors facing the morning sun, the storm door handles are too hot to touch with bare hands. This is due to the exterior color of the door (Mountain Berry) which absorbs solar heat. This possibility was not called to our attention when we selected the color. One of the plastic clips holding the screen and glass for the storm door split in half. I will ask for a replacement. The steel entry door allows for the transmission of heat or cold from the outside. I cannot determine whether there is a thermal break between the exterior and interior still panels. Entry door seals tightly.

The company representative would not provide an estimate without both spouses present. Due to the time-line of my remodeling project and my disagreement with this policy, I will not attempt to do any business with them.

It took them forever to complete what they had promised to get done. They came to us, we choose the windows, and also included a door with our purchase of windows. The windows are so great, I will probably go back to them.

The three-man work crew showed up on time. They removed the old wooden windowns and installed each of the three replacements. The job was expected to take about four hours; instead, it took about six and a half. Once the windows were installed, the bending and fitting of the aluminium sheeting around the frames was done. I was a bit surprised that the perimeter of the windows was not better insulated to fill in the air space and keep cold from infiltrating. I was told that expandable foam was not used or recommended because it would bend the window frame and and make opening the sliders difficult. Instead, the spaces were partially filled with pieces of thin foam insulation sheet. I do believe that a low-expansion foam could be found to do a good insulating job. The crew cleaned up the site very well, including vacuuming the rug.

The overall experience was top notch. The windows are of very high quality and have increased the comfort in our home. Fantastic crew; efficient, friendly, capable, hard working, respectful, and tidy. AirTite's windows are a little more expensive but their quality is excellent. The only thing that I would change would be their estimating process. When the salesman came out to give a bid on the job, he used a slight pressure tactic by offering a "discount" if we signed a contract that day. It is a pressure tactic that would normally be a deal breaker for me but i was convinced of the quality of their product.

I called Air Tite for an estimate based on good ratings here. When I called to make an appointment they asked if I was married, then stated that both my husband and I had to be present for the estimate. I thought that was ridiculous! My marital status is not their business, and I am capable of making decisions regarding windows on my own. Products may be great, but professionalism is not.

They arrived around 10 am and were gone by 7:30 pm. There was a rain storm which delayed them for about one hour. The men didn't work for Air-Tite but were contractors. I was satisfied with their work and timeliness.

The experience was excellent. Everything we were told would happen took place as described by the sales person and contract. The installation crew was neat, clean, and professional.

I GOT ALONG REALLY WELL WITH THE WORKERS. THE WINDOWS ARE GREAT QUALITY AND THEY ARE STILL IN GOOD CONDITION. THEY SHOWED UP EXACTLY THE RIGHT TIME AND DAY. THEY ARE A SUPER COMPANY TO BE INFORMED ABOUT.

MY NEIGHBORS HAD THEM INSTALLED, AND THEY RECOMMENDED THEM TO ME. THEY GAVE ME A TIME FRAME AND FINISHED WITH IN IT. THEY TOOK CARE OF ALL THE CLEAN UP, AND THEY WERE CAREFUL OF MY FLOORING. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM.

THEY DID A REALLY GOOD JOB. THE WINDOW DONT LEAK AIR. THEIR PRICE WAS FAIR. THEIR RESPONSIVENESS AND PROFESSIONALISM WAS VERY GOOD ALSO. THEY CLEANED UP THEIR MESS WHEN THEY WERE DONE.

THIS COMPANY HAS A GREAT PRODUCT. THE WINDOWS ARE WONDERFUL, THEY ARE EXACTLY WHAT WE WANTED. THERE WERE NO HIDDEN COSTS. I PAID JUST WHAT THEY QUOTED ME.

THE WORK THEY DID WAS GREAT. THEY CLEANED UP THEIR MESS. I WAS VERY PLEASED AT THE GOOD JOB THEY DID. THEY REPLACED THEM WITH LITTLE DISRUPTION TO MY HOME. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM.

THE CREW WAS VERY GOOD AND FRIENDLY. THE WINDOWS ARE WONDERFUL, AND WE HAVE ENJOYED THEM. THEY ARE EASY TO TAKE CARE OF AND CLEAN. WE HAVE HAD MANY COMPLEMENTS ON THEM.

THEY DID ALL THE WORK IN A REAL QUICK MATTER. THEY WERE A VERY PROFESSIONAL PLACE TO WORK WITH. THEY HAVE GOOD QUALITY PRODUCTS JUST LIKE THEY PROMISE THEIR CUSTOMERS.

I DIDN'T PRICE ANY OTHER COMPANY SO I FEEL THAT THEY ARE ABOUT THE SAME AS OTHER COMPANIES. I FEEL THAT THEY DID A PRETTY GOOD JOB ON THE WINDOWS. I HAVEN'T HAD ANY TROUBLE WITH THE WINDOWS YET.

WE SHOPPED AROUND, AND THEY HAD THE BEST PRICE. THEY DID A VERY GOOD JOB. THE TWO MEN THEY SENT TOOK ONLY SIX HOURS TO INSTALL ALL OF THE WINDOWS. THEY WERE NEAT AND RESPECTFUL OF OUR HOME, AND THEY CALLED TO MAKE SURE WE WERE HAPPY WITH THE WINDOWS.

THEY WERE SUPER QUICK, GETTING DONE WITH ALL 14 IN LESS THAN A DAY. THEY HAD PREMEASURED EVERYTHING, SO THEY JUST SHOWED UP AND SLAPPED THEM IN. WE PROBABLY COULDVE HIRED A CHEAPER COMPANY, BUT THESE WERE HIGH-QUALITY WINDOWS.
