We started out searching for homes in the area between Bedford and Bloomington. 90% of the houses we looked at were from the ones we found ourselves on the search sites. We had to come from 100 miles each time we looked with the realtor. Sometimes, the realtor would tell us that some of them were not available to view anymore, but wasn't until after we arrived in the area. One time the realtor caused a delay because she didn't check her office voicemail to get a message from the buyer's realtor. When we did find a house to put an offer in on, we had lots of problems with the relocation company (CARTUS). After we made an offer, we went 30 days with back and forth problems until I had to finally call the president of the company's office and have them contact their agent to resolve issues to complete the transaction. It was finally accepted and signed that very day. I feel that the realtor could have taken more initiative, like doing what I did, to get the problems resolved quicker and an faster acceptance. I had asked the realtor to find out if we could build an outbuilding on the property before we put in an offer and, after waiting several days and we needed to get going on it, I contacted the county planning commission myself and got an answer within 3 days. The next day, the realtor said she had a call into the city to find out if we could do it. I informed her that the property was in county jurisdiction and that I had already done it. The realtor was very nice and the road to acceptance and closing on the house was very rough one, some of which wasn't her fault, but we do feel it could have gone faster and smoother with more initiative. Her office is in Bedford and we did end up buying in Bloomington, so she was probably not that familiar with the area. Even though most of the issues were with the relocation company, the delays did cost us a few hundred dollars, because we had to change the closing date on the house we were selling.

Greg Taylor was a great realtor. The home I bought was a short-sell (owners owed more on it than it was being sold for), so there were a number of non-standard issues. Greg was a lot of help and did a great job of communicating everything with me and keeping me in the loop. He even came out and helped me take down a fence and do some painting (which the appraiser required before I could buy it.) He's friendly, professional, and makes buying a home fun!

I have a realtor for life! she was the best person for the job. When I called her on Monday about the possibility of selling my house, she came over that night to help me sell it. She helped me set a competitive price and after just 4 days, even in this horrible economy, i had an accepted offer! So far everything is going great and I could be out of my house by the end of the month.
