We are extremely pleased with the excellent experience we had today with Baun's Chimney Sweeping. Michael showed up on time, he was very friendly, personable, and was a pleasure to talk to. The vast amount of education, knowledge and experience in his craft was honestly quite impressive! He was very honest and advised me the more costly service that I had ordered was just not needed in my case. He could have completely taken advantage of us, but that is not what he did. As he put it, "It would be stealing" from me and he was not about to do that. His work was high-quality and he was very careful not to leave a mess. Apparently, our fireplace screen door was missing a screw. So, he took it upon himself to go out to his truck to get an extra screw, bring it in and installed it for us! We were EXTREMELY impressed with Michael! Baun's has a customer for life.

Michael is an outstanding professional. Probably the only one around with an actual 4-year degree in chimney sweeping! Very knowledgeable and friendly. Honest and fair pricing. If you need any work completed on your chimney or fireplace, call this guy.

Michael Baun is very professional and the most knowledgeable Chimney Sweep/Repair service contractor in central Indiana. Weather played a role on completing the work agreed to be performed but when it was completed, I believe that everyone was please with the cost and scope of work performed and the overall process and end result.

He arrived promptly and fully prepared with all equipment including his own ladder. He was professional in manner and work, while also courteous. An unexpected bonus was that he recaulked the chimney with appropriate caulk because caulk apples by builder (wrong kind) had cracked. This appointment took several tries because of my schedule. He was responsive and flexible.

I contacted MIchael due to concerns about the masonry fireplace in a home we purchased recently. Every time that I started a fire, the house would fill with smoke. I tried opening a window to help draw a draft, but nothing seemed to help. He showed up on time, and helped me realize the problem, which was me. I have had fireplaces in homes before, but the houses were always newer, with taller chimneys. He walked me through what is required for using my fireplace, to get a good fire and a good draft going. He was VERY knowledgeable, and you could tell that he truly enjoyed what he did. Was a fountain of knowledge, and answered all of the questions I had. Helped build a fire, showed me what was needed. I feel like a fool for not knowing that I was doing something wrong, but am glad that he was able to help set me straight. I will surely use him again!

Provided helpful advice regarding installing a wood burning insert that we had purchased. Friendly, punctual, professional and very knowledgeable.

We contacted Baun Chimney after the inspection report for the home we purchased to have him clean and personally inspect the chimney to give us a second opinion. Michael arrived on time and executed the cleaning of the chimney, he lit the gas fireplace and confirmed its functionality and was very honest with us that the chimney had been converted from wood to gas and being that if we left it gas, the chimney would not need future cleanings. So I appreciated the honesty of Michael. He climbed on the roof and did confirm the inspection report and took pictures of the issues and explained that he could return in the next week and execute on the masonry work and he would recommend that we cap the chimney with a waterproofing sealant that would protect the chimney for a minimum of ten years. We agreed to move forward and Michael returned the next week and performed the work as estimated and the cap looks great. I would always recommend Michael and his company due to the great ownership and pride he takes in his work and name in the business.

We did use the Chimney Sweep. I was Baun's Chimney Sweeping. It was very good. It was another person who gave me a few options on when they could come out, was very prompt and I was very happy. This home that we live in, we had not used the chimney sweep before. We have only been here a couple of years. Like I said, I never had this done before. It was very clean and there was no dust in the house or anything. It was a specialized vacuum that kind of sealed the whole chimney up and everything. I was totally impressed. I was thinking that we are going to have some dust in here but they did their best and there was nothing. It was very good. Something that stood out to me was how professional and he had equipment that I had never seen before that actually really cleaned the chimney out and then he inspected it and told us that we were supposed to not have any problems with the chimney. That was good to know when there being so many hereabouts chimney fires and things like that. It was A) getting it cleaned but also B) finding out from a professional that the chimney was in fact in good condition, which is something you don't really know until you have a problem. It is hard to rate the price. I thought it was reasonable for the amount of time and the equipment he had. He knew what he was doing. Everything was clean. We didn't have any problems afterwards. The chimney works fine. He was here on time and answered all of my questions. He was here on time. He really explained things to me and some of them I didn't know. I thought that was very good. I would definitely use him in the future. He suggested to do it in the spring instead of waiting for fall. In the spring he is actually less busy so we have a wider variety of options. We plan to use him again in the spring.

I was totally impressed with Michael, he came in looked at the fireplace on the main level, was very thorough and explained every detail. He then went to the lower level where we have a wood-burning stove and did the same thing. Explaining to me the operation of our stove, suggestions, and selection of wood. He then went on the roof inspected the chimney from there, came down and said every thing looked good. He did not try to sell me something I didn't need. I really appreciated his professionalism, courtesy and friendliness. Absolutely will be in contact later.

Called Michael on a Friday, he was here Monday to give estimate. Very professional, no high pressure sales at all. Returned the following Monday to complete job. Did an excellent job. Highly recommend!

Quick response and also arrived early which I appreciate because I'm the same way. Checked the chimney for a possible cleaning (which he stated it did not need) and for possible fixes. Made recommendations for future upkeep and provided price estimates. At times, when other providers do something like that, I have often felt pressured but I didn't feel this way at all. He explained why he was making certain recommendations and provided notes for me to look at later. I appreciated his professionalism and the no pressure atmosphere he created. I highly recommend.

I don't recall what all Mr. Baun did for us, but wanted to assure that I reviewed (albeit it at a late date) his services and provided input that we were VERY impressed with his professionalism and knowledge.

from the phone call to set the appt. to receiving the receipt for payment all went very smoothly, done in a short amount of time and Michael was very personable and professional . He provided photos of the old, unscreened cap and photos of the new protected cap. It was a job well done.

Baun's is a locally owned company out of Franklin, IN. The owner himself came out to our home, and arrived slightly early. He is very personable and took the time to explain his work to me (even when it meant admitting he couldn't perform a service that day). We will use Baun's Chimney again and plan to recommend him to our neighbors. He even mailed us a handwritten card thanking us for choosing his service!

Mr. Baun was very professional on time and great personality. He answered all of my questions (I had many) and had so much more knowledge than other sweeps I have used.

Mike inspected the chimney on our newly purchased home. He found that it was clean and needed no further service. He showed my husband that a few bricks were starting to age and told him how to spray a chimney water proofing material on to prevent further problems. He knew that my husband could do that job & save some money and since it was sprinkling, it needed to be done on a dry day.

He was great. He was so much better than others I have used in the past. He was really knowledgeable. He was quick and clean.
