My elderly mother should have asked how much the total cost would be before agreeing to have this company come out. They told her on the phone that there was a trip charge (but did not quote the cost of the trip charge). She was expecting a $60 trip charge, but she did not ask for the cost of the trip charge. That is on *her* - she should have asked for the cost of the trip charge. But, they should have told her what the trip charge was going to cost when she made the service call; they had to have been able to tell she's an elderly lady, and all she was asking for was to have a doorbell switch replaced. The switch was fixed in less than 10 minutes, and the tech apologized; "sorry, I have to charge you for the trip", which was over $110. If you feel compelled to apologize for something before you do it, then maybe you shouldn't do it, or at least ask a supervisor to make an adjustment. I see from other comments here that such a action was taken with others. Sure, it's reasonable to charge for a trip, but over $100 for a $5 doorbell switch fix that took 10 minutes?? ($5 = what she was was charged for the actual work/part). Yes, my mother should have asked them for the cost of the trip charge when she called, but she's a classic "little old lady" who expected to pay about $60 for a trip charge and couple of bucks for the fix, and don't think it would be too much to expect some reasonableness on-site given that the person who took the appointment on the phone told her there would be a trip charge, but did not disclose the cost of the trip charge. Seems the policy = if the customer doesn't ask how much the trip charge is, don't tell them. I have a problem with that; not a legal problem, just an ethics problem. The tech did fine work, and everything is legal - she asked them to come out, and they charged what they charged. It's her fault for not asking what the trip charge was. She would not have hired them if they had told her the cost of the trip charge when she called to set the appointment, but I guess that's why they don't volunteer that information unless asked. While this company won't miss my mother's business, I have several active rental and flip properties in Marion and Hamilton county, and have already sent the word out to my management company and GCs not to use this company.

Excellent work. They had to move a table and place a tall ladder to get to the fan 18 feet up. Replaced the table and were very professional. Took two hours, no problems.

I spoke with Mike at Frye Electric over the phone to set up a time for his repair men to come out. Chad and Eric came out on time as scheduled. Both were very polite and professional. I was in my living room doing some paperwork while they got started. Before no time they were done! Ceiling fan was in place, working. Receptacles were changed out, working just fine. They cleaned up and was finished in just a little over an hour. The price was fair for the job that was done. I will tell my friends when they have a electrical issue in their homes, Frye Electric is a very good condition pay to use. I will definitely use their services in the future. Great job guys!

Once again, these guys came in and took care of business! Very professional and prompt. We were worried that the lights were too high but the Frye guys got it done! We will continue to use their services.

Everything went perfectly. I had called a few other places first to explain my issue and get some ball-park figures on what it would cost. When I got to Frye, they just said they would send someone out to give an estimate. If I liked it, they would do the work today and if not, I didn't owe them anything. I was surprised at the prospect of getting it fixed today and agreed. The electricians that came out were Chad and Eric. Chad called to let me know when they were on the way. Once they arrived, they inspected everything from the weather head to the breaker box inside. They provided a written estimate with all the details of the work to be performed. Though there wasn't a materials list on the estimate, I did see it on his copy. Based on the other phone estimates and the research I was able to perform, the price seemed fair so I agreed. They left to go get materials, came back, performed the work, cleaned up after themselves, were polite and professional. They explained how to go about getting the power company to reconnect the lines. The final bill matched the estimate exactly. They explained that they would be going to another job site but if there was any issue when the power was reconnected to call and they would be right over. Fortunately, everything worked as it should. I was very impressed with the whole experience and they will definitely have my business in the future. .

I sent a message through Angie's list and got a reply in my email within 24 hours. I was told to call into the office and speak with Kelly and it would be taken care of. I spoke with Kelly who was very helpful. She explained that all I needed to do was email a copy of the inspection report and she would get it to the estimator. She stated that I would receive a response either by the end of the day or first thing Monday morning. It was Friday morning at approx. 8:00 am when the inspection report was emailed to them. It has now been just shy of one month and I have yet to receive the first bit of communication. Whether it is the case or not, it is apparent that the work I was requesting an estimate for was not enough for them to be bothered with. This led to them simply choosing not to even send me a courtesy email, they simply didn't try to reach out at all. It is extremely insulting when a service business flat out ignores a potential customer simply because, by all appearances, the work isn't deemed worthy of their service. This may be a rant, but insulting isn't a strong enough word to describe them ignoring customers.

Fan rough-ins and exterior lights went in just fine. The GFI issue resulted in a 2nd trip out, as I don't really think it was fixed right the first time. They tried to say a wire came loose and wanted to charge me for a 2nd visit, but then thought better of it!!!!

The electrician was helpful and knowledgable, worked through the list of items to be corrected with his apprentice, answered a few questions that I had unrelated to the work at hand, cleaned up and left. I found a few scraps of wire and hardware that they missed, overall very pleased.

The actual install went very smoothly. Justin was meticulous and he and his helper were finished in about three hours (3 hanging light fixtures and replacement of an exterior outlet). My wife wasn’t happy with the height of the foyer fixture (my mistake, not Frye’s), so Justin came back the next day to raise it (no charge). There is a reason Frye has so many A ratings – they deserve it!!

Generally good. The end result was what I was hoping for. I was satisfied with the price, so I rated an A. My only complaint is the small mess left behind. Felt it should have been cleaned prior to leaving. However, I will hire Frye again if I need service. They seem to be a very good company.

I was satisfied and they were about half of what the other estimate I got so I think their TV ad was right.

The tech was nice and on time. The job was more complicated than was initially thought, but the tech still gave me the quoted price, wich was really nice.

We are extremely satisfied with all the work completed in our home. They were out twice for different projects. All the servicemen where efficient, pleasant and well qualified. The charges on both occasions were less than we expected. We will definitely use Frye for future electrical needs and would highly recommend them to others.
