Emily Cobb

I hired Emily as a favor to my roommate who was Emily's cousin. Emily lost her job, had a young son to support, and really needed extra money. Her cousin stated that she was a marvelous at house cleaning, lobbied me hard to hire her, so I decided to give Emily a chance. Meanwhile, her cousin told me several horrid stories about Emily including how irresponsible she is with her own child and other reckless behavior. I'm kind of a bleeding heart for people in need, so I did hire her anyway. I regret that now. I use certain products and methods to clean my home and I asked Emily to use them. She balked a little at my suggestions, yet did as I asked. Overall, she did an ok job in spite of the numerous cigarette breaks she took. In spite of this, I still hired her to come to clean a second time and gave her a nice tip because she had a two-year old son and was broke. Shortly after the second cleaning it was apparent her cousin was not working out as a roommate and I told her to move out. It was then that Emily launched into a foul mouthed tirade against me, my home, my cleaning methods (and even my mop!) on Facebook. In my estimation Emily is unprofessional and immature. I would never trust her in my house alone. It is completely unprofessional to launch into foul-mouthed public tirades on clients who hire you to help you out when down on your luck.

Emily was referred to me by her cousin when I complained about not having enough time to clean house. Her cousin told me that Emily was just starting this business and needed clients. Emily came over to see what I needed done a few days in advance. Emily was conscientious and asked which products I wanted to used on which surfaces. In particular she thoroughly dusted my antique dining room furniture with Scott's Liquid Gold which makes it gleam. I also like Simple Green used on the tiled kitchen floor and back porch floor. She arrived on time and completed the work in about 4 hours. She even came back the next day to fix the belt on my vacuum. She can bring her own equipment or use yours. For me, I prefer she use the cleaning products I specify. Based on this first cleaning, I plan to have her come back each month to ensure that my cleaning does not fall behind.
