Avon Gardens

We had two meetings to discuss what plants/trees might work, Karen was to design something (she is very good and had done landscaping work at my home previously several years apart), and then get back with me. Very poor communication. I had to initiate the follow-up. A two-person crew came one day while I was at work and did a lot of weeding and prep. I thought they would be back within the next few days. Nothing happened. I texted Karen and we set a day when she and her crew would come and start the work. I took a vacation day and stayed home to see what the plantings would be and to make sure my two indoor senior dogs didn't get too agitated. No one showed, no call or text. When I texted to ask if I had the wrong day, she apologized and said they ran long on another job the day before because of hard soil and needed to finish that job. She didn't expect me to have taken time off work. She said they would be out the next week and I never heard anything from her after that. Very disappointing as she is very talented with landscaping design and understanding what will work in a given area.

While shopping for perennials, mentioned we had moved over the winter and we needed ideas for landscaping as far as which plants to put in different areas. I was told the owner could come to our house and give input for a fee of $60. I completed a form with our name, address, and phone number and also a place for our estimated budget (which was minimal at that time). I was told we would be contacted in a week of so. After several weeks I stopped back in to see when we would be contacted. I was told they were "running behind". After 3 or 4 more weeks I again stopped in and was told once again they were "running behind", and that they liked to finished up jobs before starting a new job. I left a message that I had stopped in and to please call. I never heard from anyone and finally gave up. I simply wanted input about which areas would be best suited to various perennials so we could get started on the yard and it would not look "random". If they are only interested in bigger jobs I wish they would have just said so in the beginning. Very disappointed!!

Arrived with a crew of 5. Worked fast and worked well together. My landscape beds needed to have dead cut off the perennial plants, dried leaves pulled out from under the bushes and plants and new mulch put down. There were several bushes that need to be trimmed back plus one taken out that had just overgrown its area. When they left, everthing was completely cleaned up and it looked so fresh and inviting again.

They are incredible. They are going to put in a fire pit but I'm going to wait until next year to have them do that. Se is extremely knowledgeable about the plants and she plans the designs herself. Se has perennial gardens in Avon that will take your breath away. It is on a pond and everything. It is just beautiful. She is just excellent and it is just beautiful. I walk around with a grin on my face. I intend to use them again. Never any follow up. Several plants died, no instructions on care. For amount of money I spent I was very disappointed that I never heard from Karen again. Not very professional in my opinion.

Excellent! Steve helped us decide what trees we wanted in our bare backyard. He is quite knowledgeable and friendly. The day we went to the Gardens was a pretty busy Saturday, yet Steve spent a good 45 minutes with us. The owner, Linda, is just as accommodating with her time and takes pride in what she does. She mentioned many times that "the work would be done right" b/c she really cares about the plants and her customers. We staked our flags where we wanted the trees to go, and ahead of schedule, I returned home from work to find all of the trees planted, no signs that anyone had even been in the yard! The trees are beautiful, full, robust and healthy. The mulch around the trees is of high quality and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase mulch from the company. I really can't say enough about the quality of service provided in addition to the quality of the trees we purchased.

They are absolutely great. They sell me mulch for the lawn. They have beautiful grounds to walk around shop. They offer special events, weddings, music in the gardens, and they also have how to classes. All the people are friendly and very helpful. They have even come to home to help me with my flower beds, pulling out trees, replanting. Excellent quality of annuals, perennials, trees, and shrubs.

Karen, the owner, is very hard to get hold of and doesn't always return messages promptly. She did a very nice design, and the execution was very good (although we are still missing one shrub that she was having trouble locating.) Karen's guys actually did more work than we originally contracted for, and she did not charge extra. She also brought in a tree contractor who removed 2 overgrown river birches and ground out the stumps AND all the surface roots that had taken over part of the front yard.

WHEN I ARRIVED HOME IT HAD BEEN LEFT RIGHT WHERE I ASKED AND THE QUALITY IS EXCELLENT.

QUALITY WAS EXCELLENT AND DELIVERY COST WAS MUCH CHEAPER IF YOU LIVE IN HENDRICKS COUNTY.
