Description of Work: We asked for cleaning and advice for our aging chimney. The technician cleaned for a while, said that the creosote was too thick for removal, and suggested that we put a 5" chimney liner in. Dave at Stoker's Chimney worked using additional tools to get the creosote reduced so that a 6" liner could go in; he also suggested a coating for the exterior of the chimney to improve its draft and stop the crumbling of the masonry, which had begun. The chimney was clearly improved in draft this winter.

Description of Work: They cleaned out gas fireplace and relit pilots. My main concern was it took weeks for the appointment and when they arrived only had one fireplace to clean, not two. I was very clear when I booked appointment. On the other hand they had a coupon for $20 off which I appreciated.

The service has turned out fine so far. I think the service was very good. We were pleased with the work they did. They cleaned up after themselves and were very careful about putting drop clothes down. There was a whistling in the chimney cap, so they came back out to address that issue. We will not know whether or not that worked unit we use the chimney again this winter.
Description of Work: They installed a wood-burning insert into an existing chimney. We also had them originally inspect the chimney when we purchased the house.

Our dryer vent was not working. We thought it was plugged up, because moisture was coming into the house when we used the dryer. He inspected the dryer vent, hose etc and found that it had pulled loose from the dryer. He repaired this connecting it to the dryer again and cleaned the vent with his equipment. He also cleaned up the area around the dryer and vent hose connection. He also suggested replacing the outside cover that put back in place, but said was worn. He also gave me some information about other services like cleaning our fireplace and chimney.
Description of Work: Laundry dryer vent cleaning, repaired disconnection of vent hose, cleaned the area of vent. Consulted on further repairs and fireplace cleaning.

I had a pleasant experience with Old Smokey's, which started when I walked into the door of their showroom. Friendly and professional and some gorgeous displays. We were sold. They installed an absolutely elegant and beautiful fireplace with a chimney with no mess left behind, we are very happy with this company.

They only provided an estimate, but I was able to schedule the estimate fairly quickly (within a week and a half) and they were on time.
Description of Work: Gave me an estimate to repair a leaky chimney. The lady I spoke with on the phone to schedule asked me in depth questions about the nature of the leak so she could send the right person out. The estimate was to repair cracks in the mortar and brick at the corbel and repair a cracked cement cap and seal loose flashing. Unfortunately, their quote was twice that of another chimney sweep who quote the job.
