Sowers Sealcoating Inc

We have used Sowers twice for our 900 foot drive, first in 2012 and again in 2014. Previous owner had let the drive languish. I was having trouble getting anyone to even quote given the size (too large for some sealcoaters, too small for the big boys that would rather pave walmart parking lots). Sowers gave me a fast quote. He applied the work with a hand mop where others insisted on a machine spray. On the first visit, we had rain delays and some equipment issues, but Sowers handled everything professionally, communication was great, and we enjoyed dealing with him. We called again in 2014 for a refresh and service was again excellent. I'm going to trust him with my maintenance as long as I own the drive.

I contacted Sowers to provide a quote on filling cracks and sealing my driveway. They were very responsive in the quoting stage and came over the same day to provide an estimate. Upon arrival to my house, I explained that my primary reason for the work was to have the cracks sealed to prevent further damage to my driveway due to the freeze/thaw process of the winter. I asked if they used sand to fill the cracks. The gentleman giving me the estimate quoting the compound they used to fill the cracks and the temperature the compound was heated to and said that all the cracks would be completed sealed. The price was in the range I wanted so we scheduled the work for a few days away. I made the mistake of leaving the check for Sowers at my house for him to pickup when completed. They only sealed the driveway and did ABSOLUTELY NO filling of cracks, which was my primary reason for having them out. When I returned from work to see that none of the cracks were sealed, I called and he said that they forgot the equipment to seal the cracks. He said he would be out by the end of the week. The end of the week came and went with no one coming to my house or even calling. Mid the following week, I called again and was told that the weather kept them from coming, but they would be there on Friday. Again, no show and to this date I have heard nothing from the company. Bottom line is they got my $ and were trying to get as many jobs scheduled done as possible before the weather got to the point they couldn't do any more. While their seal job was good, they only did half the job. After reading the bad review regarding the window issue, I still went with Sowers. Wish I would have had someone else do the job I needed. I hope that there is not too much additional damage to the driveway over the winter until I can have someone seal the cracks in the Spring.

Jamie responded very promptly to my email inquiry and went to the house quickly (the next day) to give me a quote. The drive is in pretty bad shape so we decided to save the repair money for a new drive in the spring. I appreciated his resposiveness and will definitely get a bid from him in the spring for the replacement.

Sowers Sealcoating came and sealcoated our driveway late this spring. Unfortunately, we discovered a crack in our large bay window later that day. My wife contacted Jamie Sowers about the matter. Sowers denied responsibility, and in the course of the phone call was very rude and disrespectful to my wife. She described him as a bully. He did eventually agree to replace the window, but was often hostile during our interactions. All in all, everything was very stressful and I regret having gone with Sowers.

Mr. Sowers came when he said he would and did an excellent job. I have a really old driveway and he did his best to fill the cracks and stabilize it. I was very happy with his work and actually recommended him to my neighbor, who also had him do his driveway. Unfortunately 2 little place popped up that need to be repaired. Repeatedly called Mr. Sowers, but he will not return them. It is a small job but it needs to be done.

I contacted them to provide an estimate for sealing our asphalt driveway and doing some crack repair. Jamie came out that same day for an estimate. I wasn't home, so he called and explained what he recommended and left a written estimate for me. They recommended using hot pour rubberized crackfiller on some cracks, gator mat on several sections of alligator cracking, and sealing the whole driveway with tarconite. The written estimate was the most detailed I received from the companies I contacted about this job, listing out what work would be performed. (In contrast, 2 companies only scrawled a total amount on the back of a business card!) In addition, Sowers' price was very competitive. I called to ask some follow-up questions, and Jamie was very courteous and professional when explaining things. When performing the job, they prepped the driveway one day and applied the rubberized sealer. Jamie called and said he'd prefer to wait until later in the week to do the remainder due to the threat of rain. He called the evening before they came out to finish the work, and they wrapped up on the second day with applying the gator mat and sealing the whole driveway. I'm very pleased with the professionalism, communication, and service provided. Their price was very competitive, and the result looks great. Our driveway looks so much nicer, and I know it will be protected from excessive wear for the next few years.

I called Sowers Sealcoating to give me an estimate for sealcoating my driveway. He answered right away and told me that he was in the area doing another job and that he would swing over and take a look at it. He came and looked at my drive that very same day and explained everything in detail that my drive would need. After he was done explaining everything, he wrote up the quote, which was very reasonable. I agreed and signed for him to do my work, so we set up a time to have it sealcoated. He showed up exactly when he said he would. Jamie and his son got started right away, trimming back the grass along the edges of the drive and killing weeds that were coming up through the cracks. Once all that was done, they did an exceptional job cleaning the drive and filling all the cracks. They then applied a very thick coat of sealer by hand, which was very pleasing because I searched a lot of companies before choosing Sowers Sealcoating and most of them spray the sealer on, which didn't look appealing to me because of the over spray on the grass, not to mention, the sealer didn't look like it produced a nice even thick coat. When they were finished they roped off the end of the driveway and explained to me that the sealer needed to dry for 24 to 32 hours before getting on it. We were very pleased with the work!. The drive looks amazing! We will definitely be using Sowers Sealcoating again for all our future needs! This is a very professional and knowledgeable company without question! Definitely a class act!

Experience went very well overall! There were very hot days that the deck was being stained and company never complained and was very professional. Arrived early and stayed late to complete section as needed.

There were no problems with the service of having river rock delivered to my home. In fact, I also had sand delivered for under my swimming pool without problems!

Looks fantastic!! As I did part of the work myself, it was pretty much having Sowers Sealcoating come when I finished my portion. At no time were there any complaints and the job was completed in a more than satisfactory timeframe and to my satisfaction! Overall, there were approx. 12 windows replaced as well as siding on the entire home.

Mr. Sowers showed up when said. He cleared and prepped our drive and then he applied the coat of sealer He was very professional and the drive looks outstanding Highly recommend. Will use again!!!! We were told another company that we could use possibly 2 coats of sealer, so he quoted us both prices....for one coat and two coats. We did not use that company and thank goodness we didn't. They were higher in price and we later found out by Sowers Seal coating that you only apply two coats of sealer to pavement that has never been sealed before. You would never use 2 coats in any other case. I appreciate his honesty and he was very knowledgable! For all these reasons this is the company that we will use is for all future driveway needs!!!
