POTTER & SONS ASPHALT PAVING

They came out two days after I accepted their bid, they ground some stumps, graded and compacted some sub base, and paved the driveway. They were very professional, punctual, affordable, and did a great job. They returned calls within a day when I had questions about their bid. I'm going to have them come back to seal coat next year. I recommend them.

I work at a gravel pit and get off work at 3 pm. as I left work a potter truck pulled out in front of me from an asphalt plant. my windshield was busted, I called them immediately and explained what happened. I talked to Pat, she said there's no proof, that's why you have insurance. She also said she would talk to roger. they never called me back, so I left a message that I would write reviews for them. Their insurance man called and asked what happened and I told him. He said they were tarped and not hauling rock. He also said asphalt is too small to break a windshield. Asphalt is crushed so it has sharp pointed edges and if it hits right it can break a windshield. He said it probably came off the tire so there for its not covered. the tailgate had stuff all over it so it could have come from there. So now I can file paperwork at the courthouse and be pro se. Since they cant prove it didn't come from the tailgate and I cant prove it didn't come from the tire. judge will probably have each of us pay half. they will probably pay more for their attorney than my windshield. It's my opinion that they have no integrity and I wouldn't hire them for anything. I suggest Pete George.

Had one issue that was not their fault, and they came back out promptly and fixed. Excellent service and job.

They came out within a day or so of my call to give a quote. I mailed back the quote to accept the offer. After that, they couldn't provide a date or any indication whatsoever of when they work would be done. They couldn't even tell me how many jobs were ahead of me to give me an approximate timeframe. I called them about 5 or 6 times. They always promised to check and call me back, but they never once called me back. They always promised that they would know the timing of the work soon, but they never were able to tell me. I gave up on them after two months of this. After seeing the reviews here and complaints on the BBB, I decided to cancel the work and hire another contractor. The second contractor did the work the day after my call, for about half the price that Potter and Sons was asking, and with high quality.

I called right after receiving the bid in the mail and scheduled the job to be done and was told the work would be done in a week to 10 days, and that never happened. I called a second time in late fall around October and was given a bunch of excuses and promised the work would be done before winter. That Never happened either. Today is May 12th, 2014, almost a year later. I called them a third and final time and not surprisingly, I got a load of excuses again. I explained I would wait no longer and cancelled the work order. DO NOT deal with these people, as excuses is all they can produce, No work, No asphalt repair, No Sealing...just excuses. My driveway was in bad shape prior to the Hard Winter and now it is worse than ever. i was hoping to be done with all this month's ago, but NO...only Excuses from Potter and Sons
