+ -1 moreHe was referred by a chandelier lighting company, but he explained that he was going to be out of town for the next three weeks. During this time, I sought several other quotes and, while the reps were kind, the prices were rather high ($5000 and $2000), Additionally, they all claimed there was no power running through the garage, necessitating total rewiring. I reluctantly decided to go with the $2000 offer, but that gentleman called the day prior to scheduled work to tell me the company had gone out of business. The remarkable thing about was that John Hurley called me back the very next day, and came out immediately. He walked right up to the garage and found that there was, indeed, power running through my garage. All he had to do was rewire an outlet and he had the whole thing fixed! It was only $125 and he did in ten minutes.

Description of Work: They installed some ground fault interruptors in my kitchen and garage. They also changed some of the electrical in the basement.

+ 0 moreThey quoted about $350 for the work and ended up subcontracting the project. He was installing 9-10 lights and he charged $600. I wasn't there when he did the work, but I did leave a check for my nanny to give to them when they stopped by. When I called him to ask about that he said that the ceilings were higher than he expected, but it seems that he took advantage of us. If you live in a nice house be careful because they may charge you extra.
Description of Work: I hired Hurley Electric to install interior and exterior light fixtures.

Description of Work: Had electrical outlets added for wall mounted TV, outdoor outlet added, garage outlet added, attic fan wired and also had breaker updated to 20amps for kitchen microwave. Both John and his brother did a great job determining best course of action with minimal holes in drywall. Already planning on having them visit my parents for work done on their home.

+ -1 moreAs indicate above, they have been the best electricians (Hurley company) that I ever had over 40 years. Besides giving you a reasonable price (again not outrageous), their workmanship, expertise and professionalism are characteristics that are hard to find these days. You will not find anyone who would take the time to really make sure that you are happy and completely satisfied with the work performed. They back up what they performed. Again, Hurley is the company that I would hire without a doubt or hesitation.
Description of Work: In over 40 years of owning a home, I never had an such an exemplary electrician (John and Tim) in completing and correcting my installation of two new ceiling fans and one existing fan. I had trouble with the switch that turns on individually both the fan and light ( a minor humming noise in the switch) They came out the very next day to correct the problem immediately. They know what they were doing and identified the problem immediately. Their profesionalism and dedication in trying to please the customer (me) was outstanding. John and Tim went out of their way to make sure that I was satisfied and pleased by calling me as well to insure that their were no other problems. What makes them exceptional is their honestly in pricing (I had bids of close to 2,000), professionalism, expertise and knowledge about wiring ceiling light fans in 3 bedrooms correctly. I would highly recommend them to anyone who has electrical problems. They will answer any questions that you have even while they are working. They know what they are doing and can solve any issue (in my opinion). Their workmenship was quick and efficient. If you want an electrical job done right and pricing (not ripping you off), then this company Hurley is for you.

+ -1 moreWe were quite pleased with the services provided by Hurley Electric and will hire them again in the future if we require additional electrical work.
Description of Work: Hurley Electric did an extensive upgrade of the electrical service to the first floor and basement of our Victorian home. They replaced a worn-out fuse box with a new circuit breaker panel, checked electrical outlets, removed out-of-code wiring, etc. Quite a bit of work was involved, but they managed to complete the job in three days. They also did an extremely thorough clean-up after completing the project.

Description of Work: They installed a fluorescent light in a room and they had to run a line through a partition to do it.

+ -1 moreThe two electricians arrived on time(8:00 am). They began to work keeping me informed along the way. They worked until the job was finished, about 2:30 pm. They did an excellent job including cleaning after themselves. They have done several jobs for me all with excellent results.
Description of Work: Removed circuit breaker box and replaced it with larger (30 position) breaker box. Installed large(4000 watt)heater in wall.
