NIERMAN LANDSCAPE & DESIGN

John came out and walked around the property and we talked about what weeds to remove from the gardens (several years untended). He provided me with an estimate of about $800 which was over our budget. We cut out two back gardens and reduced the price to $600. I requested that the weeding be done by 7/16/14 which it was on the Friday before. I had to to call and find out when they would be coming which would be my only issue is I wasn't sure when they would show up. Although once I called, they were very responsive. A week before, they sprayed all weeds on the flagstone patio and walkway. The two men who did all the work were very nice, and they did a great job. They performed all the work in about five hours. They took all the brush away and cleaned up after. The gardens look excellent and not like weedy nests anymore. I would recommend them for yard/garden work.

This experience was a positive one from start to finish. The designer listened to our needs and wishes and came up with a great plan. He was flexible when we asked to make a few changes and suggested a few more. The installation was on time and went smoothly. Of course the weather was an issue, but Mike kept us informed and always showed up when promised. The entire crew was professional and friendly. We couldn't be happier with our beautiful new road and yard and would highly recommend this professional, courteous company to everyone.

I phoned NLD in late May and received a call back the same day. Set up an appt. with John, the project manager, to stop by and look at the property and discuss what landscaping we wanted done. John came out within a day or 2 and he emailed me an estimate that same afternoon. I was impressed by the company's responsiveness and professionalism. The landscape team (2 men) arrived as scheduled - approx a week and a half later, understandably, as it was already the "busy" season - and John returned also to instruct them on exactly what I wanted done. The job took two full days, the men worked quietly and unobtrusively and cleaned up the yard waste very well especially considering the large amount of shavings the pine tree removal created. We were very pleased with the work they did, the quality of the materials used, and NLD's professionalism. I felt the price we were charged was fair for the work that was done. I will definitely contact NLD for my future landscape needs.

They were quite responsive on doing the bidding process and what not. They came to the site and reviewed the conditions. We talked about what the needs were and they came back with a written quote by email couple of days later. They've been here for one month so far. A little bit pre-mature but I am pretty positive on them as well.

We did not use this company, but not because of any good reason! We just ran out of funds for the home imporvement we had scheduled. My husband and I purchased a new home and the yard had been neglected for close to two years. Tom quoted us cleaning it up (not a small feat) and re-doing the landscaping in the current footprint. Basically bringing it back to a "new construction" look so we had a clean slate to start with. His quote included a drawing and he listened to what we wanted and made great suggestions. When we do get around to the landscaping we will be contacting him again - likely for a bigger scale project!

I was initially impressed that the company responded to the email I sent them via Angie's List in less than 24 hours. They came promptly and gave us a very competitive price and were able to begin their services immediately. If that wasn't enough, the work they did; mowing, edging, cleanup (even the patio!) was superior. Our yard has never looked so good. I can't say enough about this company! This our second season with Nierman Landscape & Design and we continue to be pleased with the service, so much so that we hired them to do a small landscaping project and mulch our landscaping. They are slightly more expensive than the service we used to have but scope and quality of the work and the responsiveness and professionalism of the staff is worth it.

There were no charges other than the $49 I had paid for the big deal.

Very pleasant on the phone when making the appointment. When he arrived for the appointment he determined that we were too far away to efficiently do our landscaping. He was nice enough to walk The yard telling us what some of the things in our gardens were, we found him very pleasant And knowledgeable. It was too bad we were so far away or we would have hired him. Because of this He didn't do a design plan for us. I still give him an A for driving so far just to meet us and Explain the situation.

He came to talk to me about my front and side yard and what I wanted. ii asked for a shrub that he was notable to provide. he came back with the drawing and suggested plantings. We talked about completing the project in two phases.

The team at Nierman was very professional and curteous. Tom was very helpful and knowledgeable. He even pointed us to my new favorite BBQ restaurant. Tom was honest that his prices wouldn't be the lowest, and as much as I want to do business with Tom, I could not make the quote provided work within this years budget. Tom was very honest and said that he was even surprised the number was quite as high as it was and understood why we couldn't move forward at this time. Due to budget we are still investigating our options (not in a hurry), and we may decided to use Nierman for this project in the future.

They came out too expensive because we asked for a lot so basically the blame is with us. We went crazy in what we needed so that's why maybe the budget bloated. They were offering a lot of services and we didn't say yes because we weren't sure how much it will cost and then we were shocked when we saw the price. Once they did the whole layout, they gave me a detailed budget but I guess we were just so shocked by the price that we just tried not to do anything or do a little bit basically by ourselves. The agent who came out was so friendly, he was there right on the dot, and they were very thorough. I feel guilty not using them because the guy who did it did a thorough job of putting the drawings together, what would look good, and what would not look good. The reason also I ended up not using their service because maybe I should also be very expressive on how much I want to spend, maybe that was some part of the miscommunication.

Extremely quick response to my original request - Jake came out to the house the next day, I believe it was, to look over the yard and discuss what would be done. After that, very swift provision of a proposal and work commenced within the next few days. Overall, I couldn't ask for a more professional approach, both on the administrative side and in the actual work performed. There've been a few communication glitches (e.g. I requested going from weekly to biweekly yard work, but the message didn't reach the technician who was doing the work and I had to repeat the request after the work had been done), but nothing that changes my positive opinion of the company. A little pricey at $95 per visit, but after a few bad experiences with other landscaping companies, I find it well worth it for the reliability and great service.

I met with John the sales rep we walked the property and we discussed what had to be done. The crew showed up as scheduled and worked very diligently. The crew was awesome and did an amazing job for a very good price. I highly recommend NLD and WILL use them again. Top notch firm. Dave

See above. Overall, it went fine but I decided to go with someone else who, was in the same price bracket, offered good service and had good angies list reviews but just had a great eye for the artistry of the plants.

The rep came out, and we looked over our yard and told him what type of look we wanted and the types of plants and flowers we liked. He then proceeded to do a pencil drawing that was mostly unresponsive to our requests. And the quote he gave for doing the work was extremely high. I discarded the plan--it was not at all what we wanted. The designer was prompt. I felt that this 'deal' was nothing more than a sales pitch for the company. The design was done in pencil on a sheet of paper--it was not the type of professional design I expected or have seen before.

The Nierman workers were on time and hard working. The Retaining Wall experience was great.

Had a great experience with this company. They performed a great job with my fall clean-up which included mowing the grass, cleaning up the beds, removing all of the dead weeds, leafs, etc. I would certainly use them again and will also be exploring an ongoing plan for the 2013 season!

Tom was super - extremely professional and very friendly and easy to deal with. We are putting in a small patio and new landscape in our back yard. Tom came by and checked out our yard and asked questions about what we wanted. Interestingly enough, that was not always something that the reps from the companies we spoke with did. Many times they did all the talking and didn't bother to ask what we wanted! A couple of weeks after our first meeting, Tom came back with the proposal. He had created a design concept for the yard, and it met all our requests and then some! After that second meeting, I had many additional questions that I kept emailing Tom, and he unfailingly answered all of them. We ended up going with a different company that was slightly less expensive (because we bought in during their spring special). I do think that Nierman's pricing was fine, and I appreciated the fact that the design was free and part of their cost of doing business. I encountered several companies that would not proceed with anything without $$ to cover the cost of the design plan. I am certain that this company would have done an excellent job, and I would highly recommend them to someone looking for a new patio and landscaping work.

They’ve been great to work with overall! They’ve been punctual, do excellent work, and they do what they say they’ll do. They’ve been very reliable and honest.

Price was quoted at $350/week and we accepted. It was found out later that NLD underestimated the property and didn't fully understand the shape of the property. They were kind enough to honor this quoted price for the full season even though it should have been more. They came every week with no issues. Monthly price included bush and shrub trimming, which was very nice. We also have many trees that put down MANY leaves....even later in the year than most. The fall cleanup included the removal of leaves. Spectacular service! Never worried about a thing! Would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Overall, I was happy with their service and gave us ideas on how to better our landscaping. Unfortunately, we have not pursued the ideas, but may consider it next year.

Initially the owner was very responsive. meeting was arranged and he came to see the property on scheduled time. He was responsive on the requests I made during our meeting. The delivery of the sketch was delayed several times and the ownerresponded only after my requests. the final sketch was done - nothinbg to write home about. It is of good quality, I believe. Together with the sketch I received DETAILED proposal with price on the work as well as timelines for completion of the proposed work, which was never in the scope of the BIG DEAL I purchased. I was contacted by the owner later regarding the landscaping work proposal, but declined the offer.

The representative showed up on time to view and quote project. Quotation was received within the time frame they stated it would be. Work was started and finished slightly earlier than predicted. Workers were courtious and professional. Work was completed as quoted and all work areas were cleaned up properly after work was done. It was a no hassel experience from start to finish.

Consultant was on time on the scheduled day. Very knowledgeable about what we were thinking of doing but had no idea of what the details could be. He gave us a sketch and estimate. Then explained what the plan was and what was involved. Ensured that we understood what the plan required. He left us to talk about it and call when we had a decision.
