G & G Kitchen and Bath Restoration

We researched several kitchen restoration companies and finally selected 3 of them to give us estimates for painting our outdated oak cabinets in the kitchen and master bathroom. The price ranged widely among the 3 companies. One estimate was extremely high. GG Kitchen Restorations was the cheapest estimate however, once we had each company come out and had them explain what they were going to do it was very evident that GG Restorations was going to be a one-stop shop for us to get everything done as we needed and with high quality workmanship. We did have a couple of extra small issues in the cabinets that needed to be fixed prior to the painting prep could start and the other 2 companies would either charge us a huge amount to do a drastic re-design which really wasn’t needed or said they wouldn’t do that type of work and left it up to us. GG Restorations was more than willing to help us get past these small barriers and get our dream kitchen to our specifications at a reasonable cost. Frank and his team were great. Frank is very pleasant and fun to work with and he takes the time to really get to know what you want. Chris and Tim, that did the work in the house, did excellent work, and they never left a mess. Our kitchen and bathroom look great and what a transformation from old to a modern look. We highly recommend GG restorations to anyone.

We love our new kitchen and shower! The cabinets look brand-new and we love the countertop! The shower is beautiful! Frank is a friendly sales person and owner of the company. We had G&G paint our 25 year old oak kitchen cabinets, stairwell railings and oak doors. Our kitchen was completely transformed with hardly any inconvenience or mess. The paint finish is high quality and is very durable. Frank and his team are professional, personable and accommodating. This kitchen refresh was very reasonably priced. I will definitely use G&G for any upcoming projects in my home.

Frank was a pleasure to work with as were his carpenter Chris and painter Tim. They were all professional and great problem solvers when issues occurred. We were very happy with the final result and considering the number of cabinets involved, probably saved at least $40,000-$60,000 over replacing them with new cabinets.

We would highly recommend G&G Kitchen and Bath. We were a little nervous about having our kitchen cabinets painted, but they needed to be updated and modernized. We weren't looking to remodel our entire kitchen. We called Frank's company after reading reviews on Angie's List. Frank came to our house and listened to our needs & concerns. He and his crew had great suggestions, ideas, and options on how to make our kitchen updated, functional, & aesthetic looking, all while keeping the cost within our budget. We had our kitchen updated with paint, new cabinet doors, a new backsplash, & kitchen knobs. This can be challenging during a Covid-19 pandemic but Frank & his crew made it work within our schedule. He and his crew were professional and pleasure to work with. We are extremely happy with the workmanship and quality of our remodeling experience and would highly recommend G & G Kitchen and Bath to our family and friends.

Frank, John + team were such a pleasure to work with throughout the process of having my kitchen cabinets painted and our bathroom completely remodeled and enlarged. My house is over 100 years old and definitely had some quirks and communication about issues that came up along with potential solutions gave me such confidence and trust in the work that was being done. Pricing was very reasonable and Frank was wiling to work with me in a few areas to keep things within my budget. I know that G&G will stand behind their work so in the unlikely event something comes up down the road I have no doubts they will make things right. Would gladly hire again!

Frank and his crew were wonderful! They took our 35 year old kitchen with dark, outdated cabinets, awful tile, no space for a microwave and gave us a bright, beautiful, convenient kitchen that we absolutely love. It is a world of difference! They painted the cabinets a beautiful light grey & installed new cabinet hardware, installed new subway wall tiles and new white countertops with integrated sink, converted a pantry cabinet with pull-out drawers, and modernized the cabinet base, all within a very tight timeframe and at a comfortable price. They worked with us on the inevitable plan revisions and made great suggestions, all with good humor and patience. They were terrific!

BUYER BEWARE- Frank came to our house in October to give us a quote to resurface our cabinets, put in a new counter and sink. The cabinets were installed on December 1, 2020. Everything seemed to be above board. Frank was very nice, very professional. Two cabinet doors were measured incorrectly. Frank said he ordered the new doors and would call us when they arrived. He asked for full payment on December 1 and we agreed since everything seemed to be alright and he had been responsive to our calls. Two days after the installation our dishwasher stopped working. We called Frank because he had done work on the electrical installation. He never responded. We would call him, text him, several times a week, asking that he call us back regarding our doors and dishwasher. He never responded. It is now almost February 2021. We still have not received our kitchen doors that were wrongly measured. We have had to purchase them ourselves and hired someone install them. We have never heard back. Even if all work is completed, imagine what his response might be to warranty work. I am in the process of filing a small claim suit to get my money back. Buyer beware.

Frank and his team are easy to work with and his group was efficient and respectful. The project took 3 weeks, but I only did not have use of my kitchen for 2 days total (in different weeks). The price was reasonable and the kitchen looks great. He was very willing to help me figure out what I needed, offer suggestions and helped me save money. Also, out of all the people I called for a quote, he was the most accommodating and the fact that my job may have been considered small did not seem to bother him. I highly recommend him and his team.

Working with Frank and his crew on our kitchen remodel was a wonderful experience from start to finish. We've had experience with renovations in the past, and this was by far our best experience. Frank was transparent and good at communicating. We stayed completely on budget (aside from a few things we added at the end), and the timeline for the most part was met as promised. (We were aiming to be done by Christmas, and aside from the cabinet crown molding and 4 drawer faces, everything was done). Chris, whom did most of the work in our kitchen, was fantastic. Personable, great workmanship, and provided suggestions and input based on his experience. Frank and Chris were also very easy to work with as we wanted to own some of the design elements but needed the helping installing them - i.e. farmhouse sink, backsplash, lights, island design, etc. Frank and Chris were clear about the specs that needed to be met, we purchased the items, and then they installed/built them. It was an easy partnership, and we would work with G&G Kitchen and Bath Restoration again.

We selected G and G after reviewing bids from other contractors and checking references. In both projects, kitchen and bathroom, G and G was very flexible with our meeting times and dates, timely with the layout revisions and adjustments, and responsive to questions. G and G’s recommended vendors for materials such as flooring, cabinets and granite were top notch but not overly costly. It is always hard to live without a kitchen or bathroom and Frank and the crew were focused on getting it done but getting it done RIGHT. Our Kitchen project – 2007 – took approximately 4 months, required the removal of a wall, moving the placement of the refrigerator, stove and dishwasher, and redoing all of the lighting to consist of recessed cans and pendants. We selected cherry cabinets, black granite, glass backsplash, and installed a VERY large island that seats 3 to 6 with a large workspace. The granite seating area needed reinforcing underneath and Frank worked with us to ensure it looked inconspicuous. Frank even designed ‘cubbies’ with electrical access for phone and tablet charging and storage. When you look at the cubbies you cannot see the charging cords or the devices! Finally, Frank designed a special storage location in the island for a wooden stool. I’m sure G and G would tell you we were ‘particular’ clients but the team accommodated all of our unique choices and needs. Our bathroom project – 2012 – took approximately 3 months and required removal of a jet tub, installation of a heated tile floor, installation of a VERY large shower with dual shower heads, floor to ceiling glass tile pillars and glass enclosure, and a free standing elliptical shaped tub with a tub filler. G and G was adaptable and flexible to all of our changes and unique requests such as electrical outlets under the sink to hide the electric toothbrushes. G and G also updated a second bathroom with new cabinets and counter top. We are very happy with G and G's craftsmanship and service . The crew was timely, polite and clean. We knew where they were in each stage of the projects and if there were delays, we were aware of the issue immediately (i.e. back order of tub filler, special design needs due the granite configuration). Frank is in constant communication with the crew and you, visits the site and follows up on the final ‘punch list’. Great contractor!

Beautifully! I couldn't be any happier the pricing and turn around time was exactly as promised! My husband and I will definitely use G&G again for other projects. The workers were very polite and clean. Frank came to our home and showed us samples and gave us some excellent ideas and guided us through the project flawlessly. He was always easy to get ahold of and returned calls promptly.

**This posting is regarding a job that is currently underway. We will follow-up with another post once the job has been completed, but we wanted to make others aware of the struggles we are experiencing before they select this contractor.** We selected G & G from 3 contractors for our kitchen remodel. The scope of work in the kitchen included cabinet refacing, a few cabinet modifications, a new countertop and backsplash tiling. We are also constructing a wine nook where a current built-in desk existed. Our main concern in this review is regarding the estimated timeline for the project. Frank estimated a week and a half, but planned for two weeks to be safe. While this was longer than the one week guaranteed by another contractor, we liked Frank and felt he would deliver a beautiful finished product. We are currently approaching the end of week five, and there are still many components that are unfinished. In fact, no work has been done in the last two and a half weeks. Frank assigned one employee to be the dedicated installer for the project. He worked the first 5 days. On the 6th day, he was reassigned to another ‘emergency’ project. He worked days 7-9. On day 10, he left for a 2-week vacation. Frank told us that he was sorry he misestimated the install timing, but the project would be on hold until the installer returned from vacation. While this was frustrating, it was a moot point since they ran out of materials. Frank said this never happens, yet they ran out of 3 different materials: the refacing panels, trim and quarter round. After discovering they were short on materials, they waited a week to place the order for additional materials. It has been 3 weeks since the new order was placed, and Frank is blaming the lead times of the manufacturer. The materials are estimated to arrive on September 29, and work is currently scheduled to restart on October 3. Our 2-week project has become an 8-week project. The tile order that was placed was also not estimated correctly. A second order was placed for the remaining tile, and the contractor had to come out an additional day for the installation. This will not impact the overall timeline of the project, but it is another example of poor project management. G & G’s standard contract calls for 100% payment before install. We highly recommend that if you select G & G, you modify the contract and reserve a portion of the payment to be paid at completion. The work that has been completed so far looks pretty good. We are disappointed with the quality of some of the work, but Frank has committed to a final walk-through to repair these issues. As stated, we will post an update once the job is complete. In the meantime, we hope that this information is useful if you are considering working with G & G on a remodel.

Excellent! Frank came to give us an estimate. He is so very personable and nice. He was patient, answered all of our questions and brought samples and pictures of other jobs completed. When we decided to have them do the job, he asked if we felt pressured into hiring him. We did not. He was not pushy at all. I love that! The guys that came to do the work worked very hard and kept the job moving. This is a messy job but they cleaned up every day. I had also purchased some knobs for another bathroom and asked if they would install them for me and they did it at not extra charge. Great company to work with.
