Description of Work: I can't say enough good things about Russ. He came exactly when expected. He answered all my questions. He set up my computer and brought it to a new beginning. He installed new software for me to use to keep it healthy and showed me how to use it. He acted as middleman with my internet provider to iron out the wrinkles. He even used his own equipment to speed the process along. He stayed extra time to make sure everything was done and right. His price was less than expected... it should have been | much more. A few days later I had to ask a couple more questions and his response was again fast and complete. My computer experience is a thousand times more enjoyable now thanks to Russ.

Description of Work: Russ diagnosed the failing hard drive on our computer, recovered the files from it, and set up and installed them on the new computer, which he gave us some recommendations on selecting. He was very knowledgable, but explained things so I could understand them. He did an outstanding job, and his charges were very reasonable. We will look to him for our future computer solutions, and I have already recommended him to several friends. He did a great job!

Description of Work: Performed diagnostics to determine what was causing system operating issues. Found and fixed file corruption and some Virus/trojans which were cleaned off the system. Also ran tune up and updated latest Window and other key software updates. Russ was responsive upon my first call and was able the address the issues within a few days which we considered very reasonable.

Description of Work: Our desktop computer was not working. We found RD Cutting Edge thru Angie's list. We called Russ midmorning on Monday and he picked up our desk top at 2:30 pm and it was repaired the following day. I don't think our computer has ever worked so good. He cleaned it out, repaired it and did some updates. I would not hesitate to use him again. He also answered all of our questions regarding Smart Phones and we happily followed his recommendations. He is the ultimate professional and we highly recommend him.

Description of Work: Russ Dehlinger, owner, built a personal computer from parts I purchased separately. I purchased all the components necessary, both hardware and software, to build a high end personal computer. This included case, power supply, motherboard, cpu, memory, video card, hard drives, Blue-ray DVD drives, etc. I brought all the components to Russ's office for him to assemble. Russ promptly installed everything, loading all software and drivers to the point where the PC was running like a finely tuned sports car. It continues to run extremely fast and efficiently.

Description of Work: Everything about Russell's services was top-notch and extremely helpful. First I spoke with Russell about what problems we were having and what kind of equipment we had. He gave me a price and time estimate on the phone and I agreed to hire him. He obtained our equipment serial numbers so that he knew exactly what he would be working with and could save time when he got here, which shows his professionalism. First, he reviewed our wireless network and diagnosed the issues. We had multiple problems going on: Xbox Live and Netflix would boot us offline frequently, our VOIP phones had spotty sound and jitter, our router was not operating efficiently and sometimes our computer was slow. We have 5 boxes on our desktop in a complicated set-up to the computer: two external hard drives, a modem, a Linksys box for the phone and a Cisco router. Russ updated the router firmware and showed me how to do this on my own (about 1-2x per year); in spite of our having bought a "state of the art" router 7 months earlier, it already needed 4 updates! He found a faulty cable in our wiring set-up, recommended a new modem that would save us money and work better and faster (instead of renting a modem from Comcast), recommended that we install a HDMI cable from the Xbox to the TV and explained how to efficiently reboot the system after a power failure. The job took twice as long as he had estimated, but he did not charge me extra, which is very impressive. He left the house so I could run out and buy a new cordless phone. He returned exactly when he said he would. He brought a phone from his home to test our connection and set up our new phone system. He talked with our phone company to get the best set-up to avoid call interruption and sound drops.

Description of Work: I called Russ to clean my desktop and hopefully speed up performance. Russ did what I asked and a lot more. He noticed that I had not updated several of my critical software platforms. He brought these platforms up to date. He also recommended and additional 1 GB of RAM to enhance processing. The additional 1 GB of RAM was $45.00 above the $120.00 but that included the installation of the chip. Russ also installed several free software tools from the Internet. They were and will continue to be very useful in maintaining my computer system.

Description of Work: Analyzed damaged computer. Recovered all files. Provided quote to repair or replace. Provided excellent advice concerning configuration of new computer. Was punctual, courteous,very knowledgable and efficient - no surprises.

Description of Work: My computer crashed. RD saved me. I am finishing my Ph.D. dissertation, and my newer-model laptop had been sorely neglected. From viruses to Vista vulnerabilities, he not only rescued my data, did a complete rebuild, and upgraded my hard drive, but respectfully and patiently explained what he did, why he did it, and what I need to do to maintain a healthier laptop lifestyle. His "post-op" instructions and written "prescriptions" are so instructive that I've shared them with family and friends as words of wisdom. He is profoundly kind, thorough, professional, expert, and fast. I trusted him with my precious data: and he rescued them (and me).

Description of Work: Russ spent a lot of time researching computers/accessories to recommend to us based on our responses to his queries. He diagnosed our technical problems and even found and fixed a few he found in the process. He provided clear, easy-to-understand answers to our questions about the equipment he installed for us (Roku wireless router, HP Printer/Fax/Scanner, Netflix account on PC/TV, new laptop computer). He was in no hurry to do the job thoroughly and was very professional. His website is very informative. Will use again.

Description of Work: helped me decide what to do with a laptop that was causing me problems - he gave me price ranges for services, including some that he does not do and ultimately I decided to try and resuscitate the laptop with a new fan (for desktops would have been no problem but for laptops it was outside the scope of what he typically does) rather than grab the data off the hard drive and start over (for which he gave me a good price quote).

Description of Work: There were problems with 2 different computers that we purchased, so we had Russ Build us a computer. The new computer is much faster, better quality and less costly. To anyone that does not know much about computers, Russ is the man for the job. He is patient and very knowledgeable. Russ alwo gave us several tutorials to get us through the new programs.

Description of Work: my hard drive was totally corrupted by a virus. Russ restored virtually all of the files, and helped to upgrade the entire system.

Description of Work: The computer in question frequently was in a loop that would not allow it to go to the desktop. Once the desktop was reached, the IE would not activate. Firefox was working but had a very strange homepage. The system ran very slowly, dropped the internet connection quickly, and would not shut off except with the physical off button. Spybot, ad-aware and Super anti-spyblaster had all been run. The computer was totally unreliable and fairly new. It was causing it's user (a senior citizen) tremendous stress. I had visions of shoes going through monitors...... Russ redid the system, updated IE and Firefox, removed viruses and malware, reorganized the disk and created a back-up. He eliminated all problems and returned the system to better than original. He did it promptly and at the quoted price.

Description of Work: Russ removed 6 trojan viruses that had infected my laptop and my Passport. He uninstalled the McAffee and installed free Norton 360 from Comcast and did a full system scan. Russ set up my all in one printer on my desktop and wireless print from laptop to desktop.

Description of Work: I have a 7yr old Dell that was running very slow. I figured it was time to invest in a new computer, so I purchased a Dell laptop. transfer files, music and pictures from the desktop to the laptop. Russ also set up a backup for the laptop. The estimate for this work was $200 and that is what I paid. Russ also included several free programs.
