The move went very smoothly. We had some big fragile pieces of furniture and everything came through perfectly. The movers were polite and professional. And, Mike Boerman was a pleasure to work with. We would use this company again and recommend them.

I have nothing but praise for Boerman Moving and the whole experience with them. This move was absolutely perfect from start to finish and it wasn't a small move. We were moving 1 1/2 households from 2 different addresses in Buffalo Grove, IL to 2 units in a storage facility in Las Vegas. The price was reasonable and fair and there were no surprises. Mike Boerman came to the houses to give me a quote and everything we agreed on, whether written or verbal, was followed through on. The driver and crew supervisor, Sam, was very professional, as were his crew. They wrapped and protected all the furniture and anything else that needed protecting, including a piano. Everything was handled with care, nothing was damaged and no marks or bangs were made to the walls in the house as they were moving things out. The crew worked really well together, both in Illinois and in Nevada with the second crew. Sam was with both. My husband was very impressed with the care Sam showed with his crews, especially in Nevada because of the heat. Sam made sure they took breaks, stayed hydrated and did everything with great humor. Moving is a stressful experience and there's no way around that, but I can honestly say that when I'm ready to move the second half of my house, I will not be stressing about the movers. Boerman it is!

I found them on Angie's List through another company. My daughter moved from here to Maryland. Their estimate was below what I thought it was going to be. It was the same crew that picked it up that dropped it off. They were very, very good. They were nice, helpful, and understanding. I would absolutely use them in the future.

The prices were fair. Everyone was polite and competent. They did exactly what they said they would.

My first interaction with MIke who came out to give the estimate was very positive. He was very nice, professional and he gave me the lowest quote of 4 moving companies. Pick up of our belongings went well, the driver Rich was nice as was his helper, however there were only 2 of them and the load took 6 hours. Guaranteed delivery was to take place between the 10th and the 12th, however we were called by the move coordinator to say the delivery wouldn't be until the 13th. When our load arrived, there was a new driver and we found out that our belongings were transferred from the original truck to this truck. OUr things were packed so poorly.....I was outraged when I saw the truck doors open. Packed to the brim and falling over, our treadmill was not wrapped and standing, wobbly on it's end. Fragile boxes were on the bottom and smashed, our dining room chairs fell from the truck as they tried to unpack the tier. The driver, (Lloyd Guffey) as he dropped things from the truck said "oh, don't worry it's fine". He was by far the most rude, unprofessional, smart alec person I've ever interacted with. Not only that he was LAZY! He sat in the driver's seat of the truck for a good 1/3 of the time of unload (which by the way took 7 hours!) Keep in mind we only had a small 2 bedroom house full of belongings and no couch or large furniture (6000 lbs). I began to help the second mover because he was working his butt off while Lloyd sat on his butt. After realizing so many things were damaged in the move.....(China and vases, dining room chairs, lawn mower, coat rack, pressure washer, treadmill mat and scratches on the treadmill, desk.......I could go on and on...) I called Nancy our move coordinator to let her know how unhappy I was with the whole situation, she listened politely and that was about it........no real apology, no follow up, no call to the driver to ask what was happening...nothing. The driver asked who I was calling and I told him that I was unhappy with how things were being handled....he walked away and rolled his eyes. This was by far the WORST move I've ever had, I will NEVER, EVER hire Bekins again, and I suggest that you don't either. Because not only will your stuff arrive late... it will arrive broken as well. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!

They were great. I had a ton of antiques. There was not any damage. They arrived on time and they were clean and presentable. This is a family run operation that has been around for decades. They keep their employees. They have employees, not contractors. I felt very comfortable with them taking care of my stuff.

I was quoted at 5.5 hours with 4 men for the initial move. It took them over 9 hours. The movers were on their cell phones and sitting around on the truck. I was moving with them and many times felt that I was working harder. I have a 3 bedroom house that was already completely packed. After I complained they said they could reimburse me for only one hour and would assure me that they would give me a new crew for the move in, which they did not as two of them were from the previous crew. The move in went much better, however I still paid over $500 more than I was quoted. The phone personnel were very friendly and helpful and the movers were polite. That being said, I went with them for their reputation, but I would not recommend after our experience.

Very well. I wanted to save as much money as possible by moving most of my things myself (with family), but was looking for a company to do just the big stuff. I was concerned that because of the distance (only 4 miles) and the fact that it wasn't a HUGE move, that movers wouldn't be interested. I received 3 quotes and two of them made it obvious (in their price) that they weren't really interested. Boerman gave me a fair quote of 3 laborers and the truck cost for 5 hours. Total actual time was just over 5 hours so the estimate was spot on, in my opinion. The workers were clean and courteous and took very good care of a few antiques and my television and large cabinets. Great job!

The crew arrived within a reasonable amount of time and worked very efficiently throughout the day. We had several large and difficult items to move (treadmill, basement fridge, etc.) which they handled well. Only a couple of minor nicks on the walls which can be easily fixed. Note; we moved everything else ourselves, they only handled the furniture and items that couldn't fit into an SUV, along with three wardrobe boxes.

Estmimator Mike Boerman very nice and easy to deal with. Packers were quiet, and did the work quickly (very focused on their work and didn't talk a lot). Movers were great -- strong, and very careful. The tricky part was the 4 floor townhome -- tight stairs. We got everything up (had to remove some legs) with no marks on the walls! Amazing! We needed professionals and we got them! The only negative was that the move took a long time -- 11 1/2 hours for movers. Because of the tricky townhome we could have used 3 very experienced movers, and we had one very experienced mover, one careful newer mover, and a younger guy who wasn't nearly as good (and couldn't be used for tricky stuff). It seemed as though we could've used possibly 4 guys, OR 3 very experienced guys. The estimate was over more than $100 because the movers actually took off their time (nice guys). Very professional! Worth the price.
