Gave a quote one year ago before our construction project. Answered questions by phone when we were able to proceed. Once scheduled, work was done thoroughly, on time, and with no mess left behind.

They sell a proprietary product. Their product is only available through them. It’s a very good design and the additional equipment supplied was all first rate. They did a good neat job and were prompt. Everything was as represented. I signed up for the annual inspection. They will, upon request and payment, come out annually to make sure everything is working fine.
Description of Work: They installed a backup sump pump with battery and alarm. They did the necessary masonry work to hook into my drainage system

The alarm on my back up sump pump kept going off. I assumed my primary had stopped working but I didn't know what to do. This happened on the Friday night of Labor Day weekend . I called Trusty Warns multiple times and could not get in touch with anyone. I had to call a local plumber to come and turn off the alarm. On Saturday morning, I reached an operator at Trusty Warns who then had the technicians come right out. They replaced my primary sump pump Since it was under warranty, I was only charged for labor and the cost of a new pit cap, which was needed. The technicians were courteous, knowledgeable and professional. I am happy with he work they did. My only complaint is that I couldn't reach anyone on Friday night when I was having the problem. This inability to reach a live person cost me an after hours service charge call from another plumber ($150).
Description of Work: I had purchased a primary and battery-back up sump pump from Trusty Warns 2 years ago.

My husband sent them an email late morning on Sunday (Nov 4th) and someone called him Sunday evening. My husband explained what was happening. The are sending us the replacement part FEDEX today. THANK YOU! We were very suprised to hear back so quickly and especially on a Sunday. We really appreaciate their going above and beyond in our time of need.
Description of Work: We live in NJ and use the Trusty Warn battery backup system for our sump pump. During SANDY, we have been without power for 7 days (so far) and have been running on a generator about 8 hours a day. During the non generator times we use the battery back up system from Trusty Warns. The alarm relay was sticking and the pump was running when it shouldn't, draing the power potentially burning out the pump.

They are punctual and extremely professional. I would recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: Trusty Warns installed and maintains my sump pump. They have the backup battery for the sump pump. I got a new sump pump two years ago and now I have a maintenance contract with them; they come out once a year to inspect it. Every year they review with me how to check the sump pump and backup battery; I check it three times a year. They come in the fourth time and do the maintenance on it.

Not well. On the evening of December 22, 2010 (at approximately 9:00 PM), I discovered a flooded floor drain in the utility room of my finished basement. After trying to contain the water and the damage, I immediately called Trusty Warns' after-hour support. They had previously installed a back-up sump pump, which never kicked-on. I spoke to the after hours technician shortly after 9:00 PM. After waiting for a call-back, I called another plumber who was at my house within an hour. Trusty Warns did not call back until 1:00 AM on December 23, 2010. In fairness to Trusty Warns, the problem was not with my sump pump or the back-up. The problem was with the ejector pump for my downstairs, below-grade bathroom. That said, I did not know that when I discovered the flood I paid a significant price for the back-up sump pump and installation. For that, I would have expected a more timely reply from Trusty Warns to my emergency call.
Description of Work: Floor drain in basement was flooding. Trusty Warns had previously installed a back-up sump pump, which had just been serviced. The back-up pump never kicked on. I called their after hours emergency line for assistance. I received a call-back 4 hours later. Not a very timely response for a flooding emergency.

I think the price was reasonable since they only charged me a half hour more for the inconvenience of the cabinet.
Description of Work: They replaced an older sump pump that was about 10 years old. It was a difiicult installation. I had built a cabinet over the sump pump pit and they had to crawl under the cabinet to replace it.

Description of Work: Our back-up marine battery sewer system was originally installed by them 7/25/90 after two devastating sewer back-ups. This system has worked very well for us. Several times we did not know that power had been shut off to our overhead sewer system, and this back-up system kept us from flooding. On the whole, we have had excellent servicing, and have been advised in advance when to replace various parts, often not for another year or two. We do have our unit serviced annually. Mike was our last technician, very knowledgeable and thorough. We highly recommend this company.

In a February 2009 thaw, I saw that my backup sump pump was running(the primary had failed). I called to schedule an appointment and they had nothing available for 3 weeks. I explained that I believed the problem was related to a valve they had installed and asked for an appointment sooner. Their response was that my sump pump brand was something they would have nothing to do with, and that the record showed they had replaced a "leaky" valve in Fall 2008(this was a lie, the valve they replaced was not leaky). Finally I was able to fix the problem myself by simply unscrewing they valve they had installed. All I wanted was straight answers from them. At this point, I wish I had kept my old loud valve, because I don't trust the work that they did. I would never use this company's "services" again.
Description of Work: At my request, the company installed a check valve in my primary sump pump in fall 2008. The valve they replaced was operating fine, but made a loud noise upon shut-off.

Description of Work: Annual checkup of primary system and Trusty Warns System, along with laundry pump system. The Trusty Warns pump had to be replaced with a new one. These systems come with a 4 year warranty, and the Trusty warns that was replaced lasted way beyond the Warranty period. We have been in this house for over 30 years, and this is only the second one we have purchased. I can't even tell you exactly when we purchased the one just replaced; had to be 15-18 years ago.

I called them at 10:30 that night for an emergency call. They didn't respond until 7:30 the next morning and said it would be $180 since it was an emergency and I told them that was ridiculous because they didn't respond quickly and it was 8:00 in the morning, not after hours. I contacted a plumber instead and he noticed that the installation was done incorrectly. They checked out the entire system and apparently while they were doing that they tied the shutoff switch to a post and that prevented the pump from shutting off. It worked fine before they came out. When I called Trusty Warns back to talk to them about it they just said "I'm not going to take the word of a plumber" and hung up on me without really hearing me out. They have a 30-day warranty on their service calls and they refused to honor it because they had told me I needed a whole new sump pump, despite the fact that it is working properly now.
Description of Work: My sump pump was making a buzzing sound so I called them out since they installed it. They sent out 2 people, one experienced and the other was a trainee. The trainee did the work and they decided I needed new batteries. Once they installed the batteries the buzzing stopped and I figured everything was fixed. A few weeks after they came out the sump pump kept running and never shut off. It took all the water out of the well and I thought it would burn out.

They had always serviced my system. I called them to have them come out to service the system and they told me they are no longer servicing my system. They gave me the name of another contractor who does the work but I have no way of knowing if the guy they recommended is any good because he has no ratings on Angie's List. Trusty Warns installed the unit and they are the only ones who install that type of system and I would like them to continue servicing the unit because otherwise I will have to buy a whole new backup system. They said they aren't servicing the system because of the way it was installed.
Description of Work: I bought my house 21 years ago and they had previously installed my system and they have been servicing it ever since.

I am very impressed with the quality of work from Joe! He was extremely professional, taking the time to explain the process, provide recommendations and giving us an understanding of how the system works.
Description of Work: Joe installed a Trusty Warns backup pump system, complete with two gel backup batteries. He also suggested that given the current configuration of the PVC pipes on the sumps, they should be reconfigured so as to not encourage backflow if water were to come in from the storm sewer. He was very careful when drilling a hole in the brick for the new drain pipe. Joe did all of the work we requested and some!

Technician arrived exactly at scheduled time and did a great job. He was very polite and the installation was done in a very professional manner. Trusty Warns specializes in sump pump systems and they use their own products. You can tell that they care a lot about backup sump pumps and how they actually work and are very concerned about doing the job right (meaning: no more flooded basements). They have an excellent service department and will keep coming back until the job is done exactly to your satisfaction. (without charging you more)
Description of Work: Installed new S4.5 MP Battery backup pump system with a charger, two gel batteries, sensors, etc. Plus they replaced two batteries on other 7 year old Trusty Warns system. Removed (useless) cheap Home Depot ''watchdog'' systems, did all the drain pipes, even reworked some of the existing piping, disposed of old batteries. etc.
