They were great at every step. Very responsive and professional, and didn't try to oversell services. Their estimate was already lower than another, plus they obtained $800 worth of Nicor and ComEd rebates that weren't available with another company. They arrived right on time and did a great job.

Overall, I would give them an A. They were great. On price, I guess I would give that A too. I don't really know I honestly didn't compare like I should of. But I had a really good initial feeling from the owner. And it seemed to be simply, and his suggestions were pretty reasonable too. I would probably give him an A across the board I had a really good experience with him.

We were very happy with the Energy360 crew. They were all personable, obviously experienced, competent, and efficient. And they all seemed to care about doing a good job. Once the job was done, we had over a 25% reduction in "air infiltration rates" which gave us an extra rebate from Nicor, which came off our invoice. Of the 3 estimates we got, they were not the cheapest, however, their knowledge and thoroughness (e.g., buildiing drywall boxes around can light boxes) is by far what tipped us in their direction. That, plus they were able to build a nicely constructed storage surface for us, placed where it would be accessible, and interfere minimally with our insulation needs. We will definitely recommend them to others for this type of job.
Description of Work: Air seal attic by sealing all gaps and air leaks around electrical and plumbing penetrations, sealing top plates of interior and exterior walls if accessible, closing off dropped soffits, open wall cavities, and any other bypasses from attic to living space below. Install 14" of cellulose insulation to existing in attic to reach a minimum of R-49 (1012 sq ft). Add soffit chutes where required for proper ventilation. Enclose six (6) recessed lights with drywall. Create a storage area in attic using 3 sheets 4' X 8' 2" foam board and 3 sheets 4' X 8' of ó" plywood to be laid over existing attic floor. Install wood curb around storage area approximately 40 LF. Using 2-part spray foam insulate exposed HVAC ductwork. Build wood curb around hatch, insulate back of hatch with 6" of Thermax (foil-faced foam board), add weather stripping for tighter seal. Vent one bath fan through roof using insulated hard pipe and a dampered vent Blower door testing performed on the home before and after work is completed to measure and monitor the air leakage reduction. Health and safety tests will be performed on the furnace and water heater to test for proper draft and any possible carbon monoxide spillage.

They were phenomenal from the start. They came out in a couple days of the initial call and we went over the problem areas we were looking to solve. The top one being a very cold master bedroom above the garage. They drilled test holes in the garage sealing to find there was insulation in the rafters, but a 6 inch space between the insulation and the floor of the room above. They also looked at the knee wall and attic. They quoted to blow and pack insulation in the knee wall, attic and garage. We were going from an R9 to R42. I had received a quote last year from a different company for insulating the knee wall and attic for $6000. The other company told me there was nothing that could be done about the master bedroom above the garage. We accepted the quote and they came out about 3 weeks later. 3 people were onsite and the original estimator was there to tell them exactly what was quoted. As they started the work, they found an additional area that we thought was inaccessible as it was an addition. We immediately added it to the work for a few hundred dollars. They did a great job. They were clean, courteous, and knowledgeable. They measured air flow before and after the job and there was a 24% reduction in the house. The house feels warmer and more insulated. I felt we received a fair price for good quality work.

Superbly well. Had to change dates twice as were working around several other contractors as we dealt with severe hail damage and our decision to also replace the windows as several were either broken or swollen and we could not open them. Everyone we talked with - from the initial estimator to the scheduler to the team that did the actual work -- were most responsive. Starting with the estimator, unlike two other contractors I contacted (which also had high Angie's List scores), there was never an attempt to and quot;up-selland quot;. Think the name was Jim. Whoever it was, he took the time to explain to me - and very patiently to my wife who had many questions -- the benefits and costs of various options. The installers were very careful and did a wonderful cleanup after the work was done. How well the siding pieces went back up was not an issue for us as we knew that once the windows were replaced, the siding was going to be replaced. Hence, I cannot speak to that aspect of the work. But given how careful they were with everything else, I would think that they would be good at that as well

Energy360 was very professional and did a great job. They worked hard and stayed late in order to finish the job with the least amount of disruption to my house. The estimate was completed promptly, but the work started quite a few weeks later. They explained it was their busy season. They explained everything and did a very thorough job. They know their stuff! Before and after the work, they ran an air penetration test to determine the air leakage of the home. The test validated their work. My upstairs used to be very hot in the summer, now it is amazingly comfortable. Great job!

I contacted Energy360 to inquire about hiring them to weather-seal exterior doors at my home. After speaking a few seconds with Jim, the line was disconnected. I phoned again, reached voice mail and left a message asking for a return phone call. Several hours later without a return call I phoned Energy360 a third time. At this point a woman answered who asked about the type of work I was calling for. When I mentioned weather sealing on doors she paused to speak with someone off line, then returned to the phone to advise me I would be better off hiring a handyman for this type of work. This leaves me with the impression that Energy360 is only interested in a certain size and type of job which I consider contrary to the stated mission on their web page. Based on the lack of professionalism with which I feel I was treated - disconnection, no return call, refusal to consider work - at this point I have a very negative opinion of Energy360 despite the many positive reviews that led me to them initially.

Hello [member name removed]. I believe that it was me that you originally spoke with that morning. I apologize for your experience. I recall getting disconnected during our conversation and at that same moment having a prospective employee show up for an interview. I also recall my admin coming to my office later in the day and asking about whether we were able to come out to address a situation involving only some weatherstripping of doors. I told her that we were probably not a good fit and to suggest a handyman service that was more accustomed to doing small jobs at affordable prices. As with any organization, we are not a perfect fit for every situation and if we tried to be we would fail at most. With that said, everyone who reaches out to us deserves to receive a prompt and professional response to their inquiry. Again, I apologize for the delay in response and if the message that you received was not what you were looking for. We will endeavor to do better in the future.

Jim came out and assessed multiple problems with the air sealing and insulation in three attics in our home. He clearly explained what Energy 360 would do to solve the problems. His crew came out and performed the work over two days. They were neat, polite and did a very thorough job- no problems. They arrived on time and completed the job on time, exactly as promised. I would use them again ....highly recommended!

Energy 360 cleared out the old insulation in 2 large crawl spaces and applied spray foam insulation. We also had them insulate an attic area that had been an area of concern after we had an ice dam last winter. Jim, the estimator, looked at the attic area and determined where the spray insulation was needed the most. They were prompt and professional. They covered areas that needed to be protected with plastic and cleaned up after the job was done. I would definitely recommend the company.

Even as of mid December 2013, this was shaping up to be a horrible winter. We already had a lot of snow and bitterly cold temperatures. That led to a lot of dangerous-looking icicles hanging from the roof line of our commercial building. Our roofer said the problem was inadequate insulation. I dialed around Angie's list in search of a good insulation company and found energy360. Jim Scherpels was responsive, professional and knowledgeable. He came out to assess the problem within a couple of days of my phone call to him. He thoroughly explained what we needed to do to properly insulate this building not only to take care of the icicle problem, but also to improve the building's energy efficiency. He promptly forwarded an estimate, which clearly stated what the company would do for us. And within days, he had crews at our building doing the job. energy360 did a meticulous job cleaning up the space after they were done blowing in the cellulose. They did a meticulous job repairing the areas of the ceiling that they had to open up to blow in the cellulose, and they found problems (such as a detached heating duct) that they brought to our attention so that we could fix them. About one month after they completed the job, I had to contact them about a problem one of our tenants had with her can ceiling lights following the insertion of insulation. After talking to the energy360 folks, they were able to tell me what an electrician needed to look for; they were confident that the can lights were IC-rated, and the insulation should not be the problem. Again, they were very responsive and professional and knowlegeable. Sure enough, the problem was not the insulation; the tenant had 100-watt lightbulbs in fixtures rated for only 75-watt bulbs. The lighting problem was caused by the tenant. Short story: energy360 did a fabulous job for us, and when I have another insulation project, I will call them.

A year ago, I called to get an estimate for 2 new windows and information on how to make my basement more insulated. It took time to get the appointment scheduled and I advised them that they longer we put it off, the more likely I am going to need to hold off till the end of summer due to my schedule. A few months ago, I started emailing the company letting them know that I was ready to move forward. I started to get leery because nobody responded but I persisted and contact them directly. They were good about finding the old emails and getting me set up for the next step. Understandably, they needed to have another person come back out. They had to cancel the day of the appointment because of truck failure. Either I keeping having bad luck or they aren't that organized. Regrettably, there was no consideration for my time or gratitude for giving them endless opportunities to move forward. In my opinion, it is a bad sign when it takes hard and quot;workand quot; to give a company my money.

Hello [member name removed]. I am sorry that we failed to live up to expectations in this instance. As I explained on the phone that day, the gentleman that was coming out to do your measurements had a transmission failure resulting in several missed appointments including yours. Our only option at the time was to contact those clients and reschedule the appointments so as not to leave people waiting. In your case I believe you were contacted several hours in advance of our scheduled appointment time. At that time you informed me that you were not interested in rescheduling to another day and that you were no longer interested in retaining our services. Again, I apologize for the issues that you encountered with our firm and wish you all the best in addressing your needs with another contractor. I hope that your experience with them is nothing but a positive one.

From the start this company was very professional. Michael, the sales guy came to my house as scheduled via phone. He was on-time and ready to go. We did a blower test to find out where the air was leaking from within my house and how I could save money on my utilities. He was knowledgeable, friendly and honest. Within a week or so, Michael provided me with a quote/estimate and the report details for work to be completed on my house. We scheduled the work and three guys showed up on-time and were also very professional. They worked very hard in the hot weather and completed the job within 6 hours which included trips to the store for supplies and lunch. Once work was completed, the forman reviewed the work with me so I could sign off on the job. I was very happy with the work and cleanup they did on my house. I highly recommend this company and would definately use them again! In the process of getting quotes/estimates on a new project for spray foam insulation in my basement walls. My small and only concern was the air-sealing of windows. It seemed somewhat expensive as we change the work order during installation due to not being able to re-vent a fan that would have taken more time and money than allotted on original quote. One of the guys caulked all (11) windows inside my house to prevent air in and out which took one tube of caulk and about 45 minutes to complete. He did a great job. Since we used the Energy Impact Rebate program which saved me on the out of pocket money, I believe the pricing was reasonable for the amount of work and insulation. Despite my concern, I am still highly recommending this company for home insulation. I am excited to see how much money I am going to save monthly on my utility bills.

The home energy audit was done in mid-April and revealed lots of air leakage on account of woefully inadequate insulation. After receiving the report and going over the recommended corrections (i.e., more insulation), we decided to go through with hiring the company to perform the insulation work. The insulation installation was a two-day project given the size of our house. Everyone we worked with was very friendly and extremely professional. Our temperature in our home no longer fluctuates as extremely as it used to and we've noticed that the house is just more comfortable to be in after the work was performed. We would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for these types of services.
