They showed up with a truck way too small, called to request larger truck which took almost 2 hours to arrive. Then changed out the crew and the driver from the crew leaving said **good luck with those guys as he pulled away laughing**. The new crew packed the truck well but one worker dropped a dresser and two other handtrucks of boxes off the ramp. I had multiple broken items. Plus, they unloaded everything into my garage to meet the timeline after almost 2 hrs were wasted in the morning. I was very disappointed!

Please do not hire this company, you will definitely regret it. The movers showed up and from the beginning, their attitude was that the move was going to be longer than it should be. Eventually, because they were going so slow, I had to start moving things with my 14-year-old son. While moving things I observed one of the movers on his cell phone so I guess I had to pay for that as well. I later observed that they packed my outdoor patio furniture cushions (that were soaking wet) with my living room chair cushions which of course soaked a few of my living room cushions. When I called the company they had the nerve to tell me that I advised the movers to move the patio furniture. Packing wet outdoor dirty furniture with dry indoor furniture should not be a no brained for professional movers. Needless to say, it took them over 4 hours to pack a two-bedroom apartment that had 40 boxes (all packed), 2 beds (1 already broken down), 1 dresser, 1 dining room table, 1 couch, 2 antique chairs, and 3 other miscellaneous pieces of furniture. I had 2 small storage closets with boxes they said would add another hour to the move. I and my 14 year old got it done in less than 30 mins by ourselves. When they got to the destination they told me I had to pay them 1700 because it was going to take them 4 hours to offload. At that point, I had enough and called my boyfriend to help me get my things off these peoples truck ASAP. As soon as they heard there was a male on the way there was a change in attitude. I told the lead mover to get my things off the truck pronto. All the boxes were going on on the spot and the few furniture pieces were going into specific rooms. I did not allow them to put anything together because they were deliberately trying to run the clock up to charge me more money. It took them 1 hour to get everything in the house at that point. I have been so disgusted with the poor customer service I will never use Angi's list ever again to find movers. They were obviously not vetted. I am to blame partly because I should have read the reviews on this company first. For anyone thinking of using these con artists, buyer beware.

Advanced a moving and Storage Salesman assured me they would safely move, were experienced in moving grand pianos, and that hiring a separate piano moving company was unnecessary. The men who were sent to my home on moving day did not have the necessary training or equipment needed to move my piano. They damaged it to the tune of $5000. Advanced Moving and Storage is not stepping up and accepting responsibility for the misleading assurances their agent gave me. They have repeatedly lied to me. They have used the $.30/lb insurance as an open invitation to make assurances for services they cannot and should not sell. Basically, they have nothing to lose. Only the customer stands to lose. To add insult to injury, they charged me overtime! The extra time involved was due to them not knowing how to move the piano! Furthermore, when I was exhausted at the end of the day and just wanted to go to sleep, I saw that the man who was sent to assemble my bed (and spent a lot of time trying) did not know how to assemble it! The frame was not at 90-degree angles. It was wider at one end than the other and my box spring was resting on the frame at one end and fell to the floor at the other end. Save yourself the trouble. Look elsewhere for your moving needs.

They did not take the packing aspect of this job seriously. They were supposed to pack for 5 hours on one day, then come back the next day just to move. They packed for 2 hours, after arriving almost 2 hours late and then tried to catch up the next day. I had to back with them for several hours in order for the move to be finished in 1 day. Polite movers, but the management does not have the operations under good control.

Received a partial delivery. Wasnt easy to get them to look for the missing furniture and many boxes. A box marked fragile was dropped so hard everything inside shattered. Furniture was damaged. They raised the price after they had my stuff. Owner is rude. Horrible nightmare! Power drill set was stolen from my home. Be warned.

The customer service on the front end was pleasant. The people I spoke to were very kind. However, the workers hired to do the move did not do a great job. I have had movers pack up my entire house and Tetris style pack a truck in 4 hours. We were moving just across the street with these guys and they didnt fnish in 8hrs and they proceed to leave 15 min early instead of asking if we wanted to extend our time. They left a 2 stack of unused packing paper which we were charged for. Lastly, they walked off with some straps that help move large items.

I haven't moved in 35 years and was a bit worried. Juan, Christian, and Julian arrived on time and worked pretty much non-stop for 7 hours. They knew how to do everything and remembered the furniture and somehow knew where it would go in the new location. Very talented men. They were also very pleasant to spend the day with. They were cheerful, professional, relentless, and very strong. Spectacular effort from them.

Advance came out to my house for an ESTIMATE. It was a townhouse, 1 master bedroom, 1 family room, dining room, office and loft area. MOST of the furniture was sold after the quote so they had very little furniture to move, many boxes and miscellaneous. the quote was $1675. the move out took forever, my 51 year old daughter was on the ramp helping load, I am 74 years....I was moving the clothes storage box on the dolly by myself. When we arrived at the new home (10 minutes away) I was told I owned them $2100 plus the deposit of $173.00. They would NOT remove my belongings unless i gave them an additional $400.00 in CASH. My daughter called the police, they finally agreed to relaase my belongings. I have not given them $173+$1600 certified check and $400.00 in cash. Plus they sent me an addtional BILL for another $379.00. I bought them lunch and drinks, it was 90 degrees outside. I WAS told by Advance that they were not to be fed for 11 hours or given drinks. The move was delayed by 45 minutes while fighting to get my belongings. PLUS....they did NOT TAKE 10 SUVS loads of my belongins. I had my grandson and friends move the rest, the truck was too small. BTW- this house was only lived in by one person. Again, very little furniture only lots of boxes that they DID NOT take.

I had a terrible experience with Advanced Moving (Wood Dale) on Thursday (6/10). I can see from the other recent negative comments that I am not alone. It is hard for me to believe that their Google average of 4.2 or 4.3 is legitimate. Here are 3 good reasons NOT to hire Advanced Moving. I should have looked into this company more closely before hiring. First, the company requires cash payment when the truck arrives at your new house. They calculate an amount based on the estimated time to unload the furniture. They will not unload until they have cash. This should have been a red flag. Making payment before the job is complete takes away any incentive to hustle. There was wasted time both at the beginning of the move and when the truck arrived at my new house. There was more wasted time because the crew insisted on walking all the stuff I wanted in the garage all the way from the street in the front of the house to the back. The garage sits on an alley but for some reason, the driver did not want to move the truck around to the back. I paid for all this wasted time. SECOND, THE MISSING 100 DOLLAR BILL After arriving at my new house, the driver abruptly walked off with my money in the middle of our transaction without counting it. I asked him twice to count it as he was walking away, but he did not. When he returned minutes later a 100 dollar bill was missing. I think it is very likely he took the missing 100 dollar bill. While I was on the phone talking to the dispatcher about this, the driver swore at me as he walked by on his way back to the garage. The dispatcher has not called back to explain this situation. After the driver swore at me, he stayed in or near the truck for the rest of the movie. He would remove items from the truck, but that was it. By this time, the two helpers were moving slowly (a 3 man crew, a driver, and two helpers), so I began to move things into the house as well. I did a lot of work because I wanted to get the job done and get rid of Advanced Moving. THIRD, THE ROLL TOP DESK I paid cash based on an estimated finish time of 4:15. With my help, we were about done at 3:30 with one more item to move, a heavy roll-top desk. The crew then took a half-hour break. Finally, the two helpers began moving the desk towards the front door. By this time the driver was claiming to be sick in the cab of the truck and would not help with the desk. One of the helpers told me he did not think they could get the desk in the house and up to the 2nd-floor office so I called Advanced Moving again. The dispatcher was not available to talk to me, but apparently, he called the driver, who suddenly appeared to help with the desk. While I was still on the phone with a customer representative at Advanced Moving, the 3 man crew got the desk in the front door and left it there, then got in their truck and drove away. I asked several times why they were not taking the desk up to the 2nd floor but got no response. The dispatcher continued to be mysteriously unavailable and has not called me back as promised by the customer representative. And the crew was not careful with wood floors. They also severely bent the front door strike plate on my old house, but apparently did not notice. They were not well trained. Finally, one of the helpers mentioned that the day before had been a tough one. He said they dropped and did a lot of damage to a grand piano. Do not hire Advanced Moving.

Horrible Company hands down !! Very unprofessional movers ( kids ) that do not know how to move furniture let alone finish a job. They show up with smaller trucks then originally promised purposely not to finish the job and demand cash payment before the job is complete. If your looking for a company with unprofessional movers that damage your property, do not complete the job, and hold your belongings hostage, then give them a call! Once they take off with your belongings after damaging your property, they only take cash payments just so that you can get your damaged property that they purposely unload & unwrap in their warehouse with your own movers and your own trucks. Obviously only 5 star ratings are filtered on their Facebook ad!! Please read their reviews on Yelp for a better understanding and a true picture on how they actually conduct Business ! HomeAdvisor, have some integrity and do not list them anymore. I wish I would have read the Yelp reviews. They could not have been worse. For starters, they were between five and seven hours late considering they gave me a two-hour window. The movers were small, exhausted and as soon as I saw them I knew they would have trouble getting some of my heavier pieces down three flights of stairs. I have used other movers and the men were physically capable and worked together in a well-trained, coordinated manner. These overworked, exploited minority workers were NOT professional movers. After they were hours late they had the audacity of telling me I had had to pay another $120 upfront and in cash. If I did not pay it, and they were not done in my allotted time, they threatened to leave my belongings outside. Oh, and conveniently there was no manager in the office to talk to. They somehow miraculously finished in time. It was now 6:00 p.m. and the exhausted movers said they had yet another move to do. Yes, exploited. When I started unpacking I was broken-hearted to find several beloved pieces of furniture badly broken. I was told on the phone by customer service that they would send a repair person to fix them. Instead, I got a $46.00 check in the mail. How devious and insulting. I am telling everyone I know not to use this company. And, beware of Home Advisors listings.

They did not do what their estimator said they would do. Some of the workers were great, some did a poor job, one walked off the job, without a word to anyone and after doing nothing for the day. They overcharged me for their services, and provided poor customer service. It remains to be seen if they will address the damage they caused. I would not use them again, and given that they did not do what they promised, I would not recommend them.
