+ -1 moreCalled in to schedule oven repair because our oven was not heating up. They immediately set up an appt to come out the same day and the initial service call was reasonably priced. Al our service tech quickly diagnosed the problem as a broken element and did a few more tests to make sure it was only the element that was broken. He told us he had to order the part and it would be $320 installed. We needed the oven repaired so we were fine with it. When he left, he left a breakdown of the repair that just shows the tax at about $8 which means the parts cost about $90. This meant my $70-80 initial service call would become about another $160 service call for 10 minutes for him to plug in the new heating element. When he arrived to install the element, i wasn't far off as he did test the element as was gone within 15-20 minutes. They did a good job. Once the part arrived it took a few days to schedule the new part installation and there followup service calls are expensive.

+ -1 moreAfter trying the dishwasher, he determined it might have been a small clog and got the dishwasher running properly again. He also checked all the hoses and examined the motor and said it was a clog that probably caused the problem. Made a suggestion that once in awhile to place a bowl of vingar in the bottom rack and let the dishwasher run its complete cycle and that would keep any clogs from forming. He only charged me for the service call. He was very professional. This is the second time I called this service and have been pleased with their efficient service.
Description of Work: Bosch dishwasher wasn't working properly. He examined and then tested the dishwasher and got it working again.

+ -1 moreVery patient tech explained why my washer was not draining water during the spin cycles. Parts and labor cost more than a new washer, so we won't be using them to repair. However, if the machine was salvageable, I would have given them the go-ahead.

+ -1 moreTech says Clock Control panel is defective - not sending 110v The Clock Control replacement is simple board swap out. I'm a computer tech - two connectors off/on, four screws I pay tech for his service, I order a new panel, I put it in. Still no bake, no broil Called AAA Appliance Service Center again. Cust service rep will not give the bad news himself. Passes call to a service manager. She starts her spiel which of course ends with her saying that I messed up installing the new board and that if they have to come out again it's another $100+ for labor for starters. I stated that the problem was misdiagnosed. She insisted no, that I must have not known how to install the panel. I said if I have to pay them again, maybe it's time for me to move on to a different company. She said that would be fine. I said look for me on Angie's list. The Tech seemed competent and was very polite and nice. But he misdiagnosed the problem. No biggie, it happens. I have little complaint with that. Where it went sour was the customer service call afterward. What should have happened was they should have offered to send a different tech to check the diagnosis. If the original diagnosis was right, I would pay. If the original diagnosis was wrong, then they should not charge again. But because of their attitude that the customer is wrong, and if the customer - who's money we already have - wants to go elsewhere, that's fine with them... then I cannot recommend this company. Fail.
Description of Work: Problem: Seven year-old Maytag Oven - no bake, no broil - range top works. I had replaced the igniter earlier to be sure it wasn't a $25 part. Tech arrives, takes oven apart, performs diagnostic services and says the control/clock panel is defective. Puts oven back together. Bill for service: $157

+ -1 moreI called AAA Appliance Service Center on Monday, the repairman came out the next morning within the time period promised, identified the problem, ordered a new part right then that will be delivered soon to my house, showed me what happened and how to install the new part correctly when it comes (a simple installation and my preference), and did all this within an hour. Really appreciated his patience in showing me what to do, and the quality of his work. (The price includes the cost of the new part).
Description of Work: After I cleaned out my dishwasher filter and neglected to reinstall a part correctly, my dishwasher started to have smoke come out of it when I started to run it through a cycle.

+ -1 moreWe called AAA Appliance because of a burning odor the dishwasher had when running. Dave arrived during the time slot scheduled and was very professional, knowledgeable and pleasant. I had many questions about the dishwasher in general and he patiently answered them. He did a thorough inspection of what could possibly cause the odor, including inspecting the panel and testing the circuit board. Two wires were found to been fused together due to an incorrectly sized part when installed. Dave replaced the wire ends and caps, ran the machine to test it and it's fixed! He also gave us a quote for possibly replacing two motors in the future, in the remote chance they may fail due to wiring issue. (They are currently working just fine.) I will definitely call AAA for future appliance repairs and have already recommended them to friends and family. It's good to know there are still companies that feel it's important to have friendly, professional employees. Thank you, Dave!

+ -1 moreAlfonso was punctual, respectful, and polite. He took basic steps to complete the job as efficiently as possible. By doing so, he saved me a lot of time and money. He started by asking a few questions, then looked up the service manual and tried to see if there were troubleshooting procedures he could do. He also thought to (or was prompted to, not sure) shut off the breaker to the glass, electric cooktop to see if that would reset the electric board. It did not, but good thought. He followed the procedure to turn on the burner, found that the manual had the procedure incorrect, and explained the correct way. If he went for the guts to see if it was an electrical problem first, he would have had to remove and uninstall the oven, a separate unit. That would added a lot of time and expense to the job. Will definitely call again for future service.
Description of Work: My Dacor cooktop had what I thought was a malfunctioning burner. Called AAA to diagnose and repair.

+ -1 moreIt went perfectly. Tom, the technician was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful!!! I will certainly use them again if needed, and would and will recommend them to anyone who needs their appliances serviced.
Description of Work: The first appointment was to check a stove for a gas leak. Tom, the technician came and carefully checked everything, and cleaned the stove, and made sure there wasn't any leak. The top cover of the stove was rusted out in many areas, and checked to see if it can be replaced. Luckily, they were able to order another range top, and he said he would have the company call with the details of how much it would be etc. I received a call the very next morning, and ordered it. They told me it would take a few days but a day later I was called that they had it and I arranged for him to come out and install it. They didn't charge extra to come out again, and the part was very reasonable. All in All it was a Great Experience with this company!!!

I called a few other places and was told no one could come out that same day, which would have meant waiting until Monday for a repair. Thus I was delighted to hear that AAA could send someone out the same day. Dave came that afternoon and fixed our dishwasher in a fairly short time. He was very polite and made sure to cover his shoes every time he went in and out. He was also good-natured when interacting with my talkative son. Next time we have an appliance problem, I will give AAA another call.
Description of Work: Fixed our dishwasher, which had some plastic bits wrapped around the motor. Also gave some maintenance advice.

+ -1 moreA switch appeared to be broken on my Bosch dishwasher. AAA sent out a technician who only looked at and diagnosed one part of the dishwasher and did not do a thorough examination. When the technician returned with a part ten days after his first visit, he observed a problem with another, very problematic part of the machine that had blown up and in fact had been recalled (this piece was blackened and obvious). This is something he would have easily seen if he had taken the time initially to look at the whole dishwasher. This was early in November. Another part then had to be ordered and installed by Bosch itself, and this occurred after the Thanksgiving holiday. AAA's lack of quality, response, and professionalism left me without a dishwasher during the holiday - and a house full or people. When I called to ask for a refund, the owner sent me a partial refund. I called back and asked for the rest, which she never sent. I called several times and emailed twice, and she was unresponsive.
Description of Work: A broken part of my Bosch dishwasher needed to be replaced.

+ -1 moreCalled AAA on 12/5 morning--they were there in a few hours and diagnosed the problem and ordered the part. Was surprised to get a scheduling call the next morning as the part was already in. About 30 hours from my initial call, we were all fixed. Technician was knowledgeable, prompt, and efficient. Couldn't ask for better service. I did think the price was high--2 service calls at $157 per--neither lasted more than 20 minutes-- to replace a part that cost about $225. But I'd still use them again for all their good points.

+ -1 moreI contacted AAA in the morning and was that a repair technician would arrive between 1 and 5 PM that day. Unfortunately, the repairman did not arrive until 5:15-but this was the only minus that I can give the company. Once the technician Dave arrived he got right to work and quickly diagnosed the problem. He provided me with a detailed write up of the part that was needed (which he had with him) and completed the job. His total time at my home was less than one hour and the refrigerator was running again. I was very pleased with the service and forgot totally that I had to wait so long for the service call. I will definitely use this company again in the future if I need service.

+ -1 moreThe convection oven portion of our 12 year old Dacor double oven stopped working this summer. I went on Angie's List and choose AAA Appliance Center based on the reviews and I was not disappointed with my experience. I liked that I was able to speak to someone when I called to schedule the appointment, and was able to get service promptly. George, the service technician was knowledgeable and professional. The new motor had to ordered and it came in a day or two. I was having company and needed my oven for the weekend of cooking I had planned. George had to return twice, to make adjustment to the oven. I don't recall the problem now, but I was very satisfied with the attention and expediancy of the service I received. The oven works just fine now, is much more quiet and dinner was a smashing success.
Description of Work: Replaced stretched hinges, burned gasket and motor of convection fan.

The exact problem is an Asacol, which is a Swedish brand that doesn’t even exist, and it’s very expensive and very hard to get it fixed because there aren’t any and it’s difficult to get them. My dryer was not working and it made a horrible noise like everything would fall off. Finally I called this place and they said they were Asacol providers and we can get it done, so they sent somebody in to check what was wrong and it took about two weeks to get the parts, so it was hard for them, but once they got them they guy came and he fixed it.
Description of Work: I used AAA Appliance Service Center to fix my dryer. The previous already published report (below) was transcribed from a phone call, and clearly the name of the appliance wasn't understood. It's ASKO (and not A sacol). I meant to say that ASKO is not a very popular brand, and it's difficult to get parts to fix it. The work was done, but the serviceman had to come back, because two days later, I couldn't get it to work. He came, discovered the vent was clogged, told me I should call someone to do the job, and didn't charge for that second visit. A special thank you to the guy named 'Arturo' who did a fantastic job. He even recommended me the vent cleaners, and I double checked with Angie's List, to see the ratings. They were great. (I'm sending another message with a review of the vent company). The dryer is working just fine.
