Stay far away from Stamith Painting (JES Services). I did three projects with Justin and all three jobs were were a disaster. One of his guys showed up to a job via taxi. He didnt have any money to pay for the taxi and told the homeowner she needed to pay the $100 taxi bill. On another job, Justin was hired to hang wallpaper and it took them three tries. We had to order two extra rolls of wallpaper and hired someone else to finish the job. There is no supervision. The guys that he hires are not painters. They have very little job training and dont know the meaning of job prep. They paint around switch and outlet covers even after being asked to remove them. Seriously, stay away from this company. Just not worth it. Quality is terrible.

They did not complete work on time, in part because they ordered the wrong radiator cover. They asked for the payment due at the halfway point of the job on the second day of work; it was not completed for six more weeks. One day no one showed up for work and we had to call them several times before they responded, saying they had to deal with an emergency. One day their crew left, without saying anything to us, leaving open pipes and us without water for several hours. I had to call them to get someone in to finish the plumbing. Another incident was when we were left without heat overnight due to faulty electrical work; an electrical breaker would not close, and it was on the same circuit as the boiler. Although they said they had the same work crew for 10 years, it was obviously not true for the two guys who did most of the work for us. My wife did not like to hear the almost constant cussing while they were working. They also said trash would be removed daily; it was not. Once, they left their trash in our recycling bin. There was, and continues to be a problem with the shower door not fitting properly, and a thumping in the pipes. They said it would work itself out, but if it didn't they would fix it in six months. Of course, also saying that there might be an additonal charge. At the completion of the job, the work crew left the exhaust fan light and grill attached with tape. A day or two later, it fell to the floor. The case for the exhaust fan had not been mounted flush with the ceiling, and there was a gap between the ceiling and the exhaust fan box. Although, they initially said they would fix this, they sealed the gap with tap and made a bracket to attach the grill and light to the box. I wanted to go to arbitration concerning the quality of the work but my wife convinced me it was better to make the final payment and be rid of them.

This is the first review I've ever felt compelled to write. JES Construction helped us transform our nearly 100 year old two flat into a home that we could comfortably welcome our first child to. They remodeled our kitchen, nursery and third bedroom. This was a need epiphany I unfortunately came to six months pregnant. JES was so considerate of my neurotic idiosyncrasies an very kindly adhered to my needs and crazy time constraints . This was particularly true for the nursery; agents used on wood, paints, etc. - they had an answer for my every concern. We also had a kitchen with asbestos tiling which they were masterful in not only removing to code, but also preserved the wood floor below. Something I couldn't have dreamed was possible. I truly can't say enough good things about this company.
