They were amazing! I was able to get a an appointment right away. Bob was extremely professional & kept me posted about his arrival time & how long it would take. I couldn't be happier & my garden is looking great!

First, this guy never answers his phone; you have to leave a voice message and he calls back. The problem with this, I learned, is if he does not want to talk to you he never calls back. He charged me $375.00 to re-connect two drains, a faucet and a gas line, which seemed pretty expensive to me but that is not my complaint. When the plumber that did the work was finished, I mentioned that I thought I smelled a gas leak and he told me there was a leak, but he repaired it. I said it still smelled like it was leaking and he said that it was not, that I probably either smelled the gas from the old leak or it was in my mind. Over the next two weeks, it seemed that there were faint odors of gas, but I was not sure; until I opened the cabinet under the cook-top and was inundated with the smell of gas. I called Nicor and they sent a tech out who immediately turned off my gas and told me that the fitting on the line was wrong and it would be illegal to turn the line back on until that was replaced. I called Northfield Plumbing and left a voice message explaining what was happening and I needed someone to come and do the repairs. I heard nothing from them so two days later I left another voice message, to no avail. I ended up leaving a total of three voice messages, with no response. Then I remembered that I had the cell phone number of the plumber who had done the work and I called him and he answered. I explained what the situation was and he came and made the repairs. A few days later I received a bill for $129.18. I called the company, got the voice mail and left a message that I did not think that I should have to pay again for work that they had performed that could have been dangerous to me and my family. I said in the message that if he wanted me to pay him I would need to talk to him first; if he agreed that this is not something for which I should be paying he did not need to call me back. I never heard from him, so I thought he had dropped it. On 3/29/16 (5 months later) I got another bill for the service and I called several times to no avail. I paid the bill as I do not want this piece of garbage to put a lien on my house, but I am trying to spread the word about this company for others to protect themselves from shoddy, dangerous work and a rip-off mentality.

They have always done high quality work at reasonable prices and are consistently punctual and efficient. I have recommended them to multiple other people, who have also had similar experiences.

Larry Murnin did all of the work in a professional and workman like manner. Cleaned up after himself and removed old plumbing fixtures. Tested all new plumbing for leaks. I have used Northfield Plumbing in the past and found them to be excellent plumbers.

They were honest and said that we did not need our sewer line cleaned.

They were very responsive and their pricing was reasonable. They were professional, punctual and the quality of their work was good.

Bob and Tim did a great job. They were always on time, finished on time and did a really nice job of cleaning up when they were through. The plumbing was extremely well done, and got compliments from the other pros who worked on the job (electrician and carpenter).

The plumber came on time. He fixed a clog that I couldn't get at with my snake and replaced worn parts under the sink. He was quick, the work was professionally done, and the price was very reasonable.

"Bob" arrived at the scheduled time on the morning of January 31, 2007, except for a minor delay parking his van (parking space is frequently scarce in my neighborhood). He was polite and went about his work in a methodical manner. He seemed to know what he was doing, and was willing to explain the various steps of the repairs. When he was done he presented me with an invoice listing in detail the materials and labor involved. The price he charged seemed quite reasonable. To the extent I can judge so far, Bob's repairs were successful, except for the steam radiator, which still knocks and pings for a while when it starts up, although his efforts may have lessened the noise somewhat. Also, I haven't had a chance to verify the repair to the leaky bathtub faucet. This would require putting in an access panel to check whether any water was still leaking down to my downstairs neighbor's unit, and I haven't gotten around to that yet, so I haven't used that bathtub since the repair.

They were very responsive, found the problem immediately, were incredibly efficient, and explained everything to me in detail. I'd highly recommend them to others!
