NORTH SHORE REPAIR INC

Repairman came promptly to repair a refrigerator we have in the garage that had stopped working. He seems to have replaced the defroster and thermostat (?) to get the frig cooling again. I was satisfied with the service at that point. However, one month later, my credit card was charged a second time by the company for no reason. Repeated phone calls, messages, etc to the company over 3 weeks were unsuccessful in fixing the problem. Only after contacting my credit card company was the problem fixed. I just don't understand how a business can charge you twice for a job, not fix the problem, and refuse to return multiple phone calls to address, fix, or apologize for the situation. Very unprofessional, very lazy, and very stupid to be that unresponsive to a customer who had a reasonable grievance.

I called the company at 10:30 a.m. and explained that I needed a service call for my fridge as soon as possible. The repairman, Jesse, called me back in approximately 1 hour and said he could come out in about an hour. He arrived within the hour, was well-dressed and well-spoken. He took apart the fridge, did some tests and told me that I needed both a new thermostat and a new control board and that he could repair the fridge for approximately $350.00. He then told me that the compressor was going bad, but was not broken yet. He said he could repair the fridge and that the work would be guaranteed for one year, but that the compressor was "on the way out" and could go tomorrow, next week or next year. A new compressor would cost over $750, and at that point it would be better to just get a new fridge. I asked what he would do. He replied, "Ma'am, I could do the repair and take your money, but the fridge in on its last legs. If I were you, I'd think about getting a new one." I think Jesse saved me from throwing good money after bad. Overall, I think this company provided excellent, honest service. I would highly recommend them.
