 + 0 moreThis was our second time using firm. First time everything was great and we rated all "A's" on Angie's. In May, we asked him to do more work for us. This time, it took 14 weeks to get the chairs back, promised 4 weeks, maximum. After numerous calls (messages not returned), visits to shop, etc. we got them, but he did not do the throw pillows. His "helper had been gone for a while and things were crazy." Promised throw pillows the following week. That was mid-August. By early November (again no returned calls, etc.) we'd had enough and wrote a letter indicating we would have "to pursue other means," as he still had over $400 worth of our materials. He sent us a check for the fabric.
Description of Work: Re-upholstering 2 chairs, ottoman and make some throw pillows.

Description of Work: I called Henry to re-upholster some couch seat cushions and make back and accent pillows. I spoke to him several times on the phone, although he was very difficult to get a hold of, and confirmed an appointment for a Saturday afternoon. I called him the Wednesday or Thursday before to re-confirm and he said to just show up and he would be there. (Note, he would not pick up the items and said if he did he would charge me $250 to do it). So, I loaded the car with the two seat cushions, 5 back pillows, and 4 accent pillows along with the fabric and drove to his store in Winnetka (I live in downtown Chicago) only to find the store locked and that no one there. I left him several messages on his machine while standing outside and then afterward and was hoping to hear back from him with an explanation...I'm still waiting. Needless to say, I will not be using Henry to re-cover my couch cushions or for any of my other upholstery needs.

 + -1 moreI can't say enough about this company. The guy came out and did a free estimate. Once we got the material, I called him and he came and picked both chairs up that same day. He returned the chairs the day after. He was very responsive and punctual. The job was perfect.
Description of Work: They reupholstered two high back chairs. The chairs were 30 years old. They also did spring work and cushion work with a tufted back. They charged $500.00 per chair.

 + -1 moreHE WAS SUPPOSED TO MEET ME AT MY HOME AT 10 AM THIS MORNING. I CALLED HIM AROUND 4:30 THAT SAME DAY AND HE CAME UP WITH EVERY EXCUSE IN THE BOOK AS TO WHY HE DIDN'T COME. WHEN I TOLD HIM THAT HE SHOULD HAVE CALLED AND THAT I WAS GOING TO NOTIFY ANGIE'S LIST, HE TOLD ME TO SHUT UP!!! I'LL NEVER CALLED HIM AGAIN.

 + -1 moreIT TOOK US FIVE TRIES BEFORE WE GOT A HOLD OF THEM TO FIND OUT ABOUT GETTING WORK DONE. WHEN WE DID HE TOLD US HOW MANY YARDS OF FABRIC TO BUY AND TO GET BACK TO HIM ONCE WE HAD IT. AS BEFORE WE HAD TO TRY THREE TIMES BEFORE HE CALLED BACK. WE SET UP A DATE TO PICK UP THE CHAIR THE FOLLOWING TUESDAY AT 9AM. HE NEVER SHOWED UP TO PICK IT UP AND HAS NOT RETURNED ANY OF MY CALLS SINCE. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME WE HAVE HAD ANY TROUBLE WITH SOMEONE WHO WAS RATED HIGH BY OTHERS.

 + -1 moreDESPITE HAVING SLIGHTLY TOO LITTLE FABRIC FOR THE FEATURES I WANTED, THEY MADE IT WORK. EXCELLENT WORK AND SERVICE, AT 50% LESS THAN THE OTHER ESTIMATES I WAS GIVEN. THEY CAME TO MY DOOR, PICKED UP THE COUCH, WERE ABLE TO USE ONLY 14 YARDS TO NOT ONLY COVER THE COUCH, BUT ALSO DO A SKIRT AND ARM-COVERS. AMAZINGLY GOOD WORK, TOO! THEY HAD MY COUCH BACK TO ME THE NEXT WEEK, DELIVERED RIGHT TO THE SAME SPOT IN MY LIVING ROOM.
