Roof works

Description of Work: Remove old roof and install new roof.

Description of Work: No service was provided This is my first posting on Angie's List. I accidentally put the following information in the wrong box. I guess this site doesn't allow cutting and pasting it to move it and it is too much for me to re-type it. This is the start to finish story: My aged mother is in need of a new roof. She made an appt. with RoofWorks for 8 to 8:30 Saturday AM 7/9/2011. I learned of this on Friday the 8th. Due to my mother's history of hiring contractors who have taken advantage of her and leaving "issues/messes" for her children to straighten out, we have started to assist her in hiring contractors. (With her permission I called Roofworks Friday early evening.) I left a message on their voice mail stating essentially the above italicized statement. I also said that I would like to ask them a few questions before the appt, (because of the limited time before the appt.) but that the rest of my questions could be handled afterwards. When I awoke Saturday morning about 11:30 (I am disabled and require a lot of sleep), my husband told me that "George", the roofer from Roofworks, had called and since my husband told him I was asleep, he (George) left the message that 'She (my mother) seemed pretty sharp. He didn't want to get in the middle of any thing and maybe we should find a different roofer.' When I heard this I called George, found the voicemail again, and left a message asking him to please call me so we could straighten out this apparent miscommunication. It is now Saturday late evening and I still have not heard from him. I also called my mother later today to see if he kept his appt. or called her. Not only did he not keep his appt. or call her, he did not return the call she made to him, after waiting for him for hours after the appt. time. While no work was done. I don't feel that this contractor meets the qualifications expected from an Angie's List contractor.
