Stringer Blacktop Sealcoating

Mediocre They charge more than other companies but promise to seal cracks. Cracks were filled in but not with enough volume to be sealed. They also left my house messy. They blew wood chips all over pricy and a coat of dirt on my newly painted garage. Not very happy

Not very well. Once I made the call to express my interest in having the job completed, they sent someone out to look over the driveway and present a final estimate that included the work described above. FIRST: Clean cracks and pavement thoroughly. Apparently, that means taking a powerful blower and walking up and down the driveway a few times to blow off any loose debris. I had anticipated that something of the sort might happen so I spent a few hours the day before using a pressure washer and blasting out all cracks of weeds/etc to thoroughly prep the surface for Stringer. I STRONGLY ADVISE you to do the same. SECOND: Fill major cracks with elastic crack filling compound. That simply never happened. When the job was being performed, I asked the Stringer employee if the cracks would be filled (pointing out substantial cracks) to which he said that he made the sealer thicker to fill in the cracks and that doing so will work better than crack filler anyway. Well, the thicker sealer suck deep into the cracks as if nothing was filled at all. I called up the company to complain (added pictures of the problem) to which I was told that there are too many cracks to be filled, and that it would take too long to fill them correctly. This response is simply unacceptable considering a sales representative looked over my entire driveway BEFORE the estimate was given and listed filling the cracks as part of the job!! If he told be that the driveway was in such disrepair and that it would be $500 to complete the job correctly, that would have been FINE! Stringer ended up coming back out to fix the issue, but ended up just putting another layer of sealer on the driveway, still leaving major cracks exposed. Never was one crack filled with crack filling compound. If your driveway is in very good condition, I'm sure Stringer will do a fine job. You still will want to prep the driveway yourself. Be weary of any company that will not complete a job as promised.

After leaving a VM message, received a call back within a day. I was in a rush to get this project done before family visitors arrived late next week. The owner stated that he couldn't get to me for 9 days and told me, "you should have planned better". He was crabby, rude and condescending to me (prospective customer). No worries, I found someone else via Home Advisors who actually answered their phone real-time and they're coming out in two days to do the work. Done!

Initial sealcoating was performed on 5/12. There were problems with the application- large spill (not cleaned up) on sidewalk and oil spots not cleaned prior to sealcoating. When called to report problems, response was quick and rescheduled for 5/20 to correct problems. They never showed up on 5/20 and we received no notice. We called 3 more times and got rescheduled again for another day (5/27). When they returned, they sealcoated the driveway again; however, it was performed miserably- plants were destroyed with paint, and another spill happened on a stone-paved walkway (and wasn't cleaned up). What's worse, is that they didn't even fix the original problem (sidewalk stain and oil spills)! We called 2 more times to address these set of problems and never heard back- so we're now saddled with a driveway with 2x as many issues as before. We will NEVER use Stringer again- and the neighborhood has taken notice. Since this, six other driveways have been sealcoated by competitors with jobs performed admirably.

First time user of this service. Very easy to contact and get an estimate. Service was performed on the day scheduled. Seal coat was applied neatly and efficiently. Worker was respectful, friendly and polite. I would have given an "A" grade across the board save for 2 things: (1) I was expecting the job to be done first thing in the morning, which is what the estimator told me. The truck showed up at 2:45pm, which screwed up my entire day. (2) When I called on the day of the service and left a message inquiring when the service would show up my message was not returned. When I called a second time, whomever answered the phone was a bit surly, although he did manage my expectations as to when the service would show up. Neither of these 2 things would prevent me from recommending or using Stringer again, but Stringer won't be elected to my Customer Service Hall of Fame! I'll know better next time I hire them, however.

Called and left a voicemail message and sent a message on their website to see what the cost would be to have our driveway seal coated and if they service our area. NO return call or even a message after 3 days! Therefore, I called them back to only hear that they DO NOT service the city I live in. Would have appreciated a response to my messages and not to have called them to find this out! This was a total waste of 3 days that I could have had another company out to my home to do the job! PLEASE RETURN YOUR CALLS AND IN A TIMELY MANNER!

Stringer was prompt and very fairly priced. They showed up when scheduled and completed their work in a timely manner.

They did a great job, A+. The customer service is good. They came out when they said they would come out and everything was done according to schedule.

Resealed our driveway for us while we were on vacation. It looks great and there is no sign of any early wearing away of the sealant.

The two employees who did the work were courteous, clarified what needed sealcoat (the apron to the drive was not included) prior to beginning the work. They notified me when the work was done, and gave me timelines for returning normally on the driveway to their place. As of now, I have no complaints. (The work was completed 15 minutes ago.)

My call was returned right away. I had an estimate that same day. I scheduled with them for last Thursday and something came up and I was not able to have them come out. They were great and reschueduled. The man that sealcoated my driver was very professional and very neat. I had cracks and grass in my driveway that was removed and power washed. I plan to use this company again. It's so wonderful when everything works out. I just recommend them to a friend.

Company did a great job. solid layer of coat. Company did get sealcoat on some brick pavers but did a nice job of cleaning up after being notified. very happy w/ results. would highly recommend.

The job was completed on the scheduled day. However not a single crack was filled prior to application of sealcoating. I subsequently sent photos to Mark inquiring about the crack fill which is noted as part of the work to be completed on the website and invoice. I received a call from Ken two days later, sounding quite defensive, he indicated the cracks were less than half an inch deep and therefore could not be filled. This was of course was true since the seal coat had filled some of the crack but still left them all visible. Ken offered no other solutions and made no attempt to address my dissatisfaction. He did offer me to have a good day though.

I give these guys credit for coming back free of charge to fix the poor work they did the first time. If you are looking for a blacktop sealing company that allows you to re-do the job every year (because their product washes off each winter) then these are the guys for you.

I was looking to have some cracks repaired and sealcoating applied to my driveway. I called Stringer and he gave me an estimate over the phone because he had done work for the previous owner of my house. Because I called late in the season I was put on a wait list, but was contacted about a week later saying that someone would be by the next day. The workman came while I was at work. It looks like all he did was apply the sealcoating, nothing additional was done to seal up any of the cracks in the driveway. If I'd known it was just going to be sealcoating I would have gone with someone else who would have done the job for less money.

I provided my information to Stringer's website online (very easy to navigate) and received a response the next day. The quote was a day or two later after they inspected the driveway. We thought the quote was reasonable, mentioned it to our neighbor, and arranged a date for the sealcoating of our shared driveway. We were asked to trim any vegetation hanging over the edge of the driveway. On the day of our appointment we were told to have our cars out of the driveway by 9 am and they would be there sometime after that. Two men ( very cordial) rung my doorbell at 10:20 in the morning to tell me they were there to do the sealcoating and they had completed BOTH driveways by 11:05 am. They did a fantastic job. They blew all the debris off the driveway before sealcoating. They were fast, efficient, and very neat; no spatters! They strung tape at the end of the driveway so that no one would accidentally drive in. I am writing this two weeks after the job, and after some rain and it looks like they just finished it. We are very satisfied with the work.

Very well they came the day after I called. I wasn't home but when I came back it was all done. They appeared to clean the work area and sealed the driveway well. Some of the larger cracks were not completely sealed which I expected since our driveway is not in the best shape. It looks a whole lot better than before. Good Value and worth it instead of me wasting 1 day and not even coming close to the quality they did. I will use again next year.

I think they were not the lowest price because I got a quote for $120. I chose them because they said they were going to fill the cracks by hand. The top would not be ideal, although, they told me my cracks were too big to fill. It seemed like nothing was filled in. they just dumped a layer of the coating material. They did not check if it was good. Overall, it was satisfactory, but I would say they could be better. I would probably use their services in the future, but I would need to talk to them before hiring them again.

They were very responsive, planned, and worked around my schedule. The project was completed when scheduled and they cleaned up after themselves. I could not ask for anything more.

We would use them again. They showed up on time. They missed a couple of small spots and I called them up and they sent somebody out to cover it up.

I called Stringer's number and was told they could come out that Friday to sealcoat my driveway. They did so and left a "barrier" so that cars could not drive over my driveway and ruin the sealcoat before it dried. The job was done thoroughly and professionally. The worker left ONLY the driveway coated! Thank you, Stringer, for another ine job.
