We had a horrible smell in our basement, brought out a mold expert who detected no mold but who detected high levels of moisture in our basement wall and thought the smell was likely wet insulation. He recommended ServPro of Winnetka/Wilmette/Skokie among a few other companies to tear into the wall and determine/fix the problem. I called a couple of companies, ServPro had the best service over the phone so we had them out to provide a quote. Their quote seemed reasonable given the scope of work and they were able to begin within a few days. They peeled back the carpet, took down the drywall from two basement walls, found and replaced the wet insulation, sprayed some sort of protective barrier on the wall (so mold won’t grow in the future?), and put everything back the way it was. There was no visible crack in the foundation so they pointed me to a couple of exterior sources that are possible sources for the water getting in “over” the foundation wall (a bad window sill and a bad drain pipe). Overall I was quite pleased with their professionalism, quality of work, and price.

A sump pump had overfilled and they brought it back to a safe environment. I liked their thoroughness and punctuality. They provided sound education on things. The crew was very nice.

We had a mold issue in one of our rooms, and got quote from four companies some recommended by our mold testing hygienist (Jeff's company being one of them) and some found through Angie's list. . Jeff's quote was itemized and transparent, and his pricing was very competitive. In addition to being on time and responsive, Jeff was very professional and knowledgeable. He was one of the only two who came with a moisture meeter and tested the moisture level on our dry wall. To make sure that the roof was properly dried before the final coat was applied, he recommended to send his crew back on the 2nd day to finish the final coat. This would undoubtedly add to the 'inconvenience' of the job scheduling and might even increase his cost. But I felt that he was willing to make an extra effort to the job right. Jeff was also very honest, informing us that our mold problem was minor and did not try to sell a big job. This was very refreshing in the industry. In the end, we chose another company due to its popularity on the Angie's list. But in retrospect, we wish that we had worked with Jeff's company instead. Hopefully that we won't ever need mold remediation again. But if we did, we would definitely go with Jeff.

During replacing floors in our condo at Wolcott, the flooring guys discovered a small area of mold on the underside of the subfloor. They were unwilling (unable) to remove it themselves and were worried that the mold would spread if they disturbed it. We called Servpro and Jeff came out that day and evaluated everything. We scheduled work for two days later. Their guys were very quick and efficient, laid out exactly their plan of action and performed it as we had hoped! Would highly recommend Servpro and Jeff.

The initial review and proposal by this company was much more specific than their competitors. Their proposal met the specifics of a protocol that had been developed for this job. I was impressed by the team who spent 2 days at my home. Young professionals who knew exactly what they were doing and who kept me informed. Well done!!!

Servpro was absolutely the best company I could have called for this emergency. While professional & expert, they respected my input & told me the pros & cons of each possiblity. I was never out of the loop, but at the same time, I trusted their expertise. I am sure my baserment is free of mold & bacteria.

The work turned out great. My insurance took care of the cost.
