+ -1 moreThey have superb service. They are most helpful. They can fix anything I bring them. They even teach me how to do things myself such as changing a light socket. They know and call me by name. There is always someone there to help. They are just excellent. Mr. Sanders runs a good shop!

Description of Work: It is a pleasure to shop at Millen Hardware, as I have for years. If you have even a hint of a quizzical look, a store employee approaches to ask if he can help. They always have what I need and they don't just point me to it. They take me to the shelf. They provide excellent help. They make sure that this woman, who knows little about hardware, always gets full instructions and the right answers. Sometimes they have to send me to another vendor for a product - and they do so willingly. Ed Saunders runs a great shop. Great customer attitudes abound. His son Doug knows everything about the Marklin HO trains I adore. In my view Millen is THE preferred hardware store in the area.

+ -1 moreTHIS STORE IS WELL STOCKED, NOT ONLY WITH JUST ABOUT ANYTHING YOU WOULD NEED, BUT ALSO WITH SUFFICIENT STAFF TO ASSIST WHEN NEEDED. SURE BEATS ROAMING MILES OF ISLES IN A BIG BOX AND THEN FINDING SOMEONE WHO'S CLUELESS.

+ -1 moreTHE STAFF HAS HELPED GUIDE ME THROUGH EVERY STAGE OF REVAMPING MY NEWLY PURCHASED HOME. WHEN I BEGAN, I HAD VERY LITTLE KNOWLEDGE ON HOME IMPROVEMENT. THEY ARE EXTREMELY PATIENT AND KNOWLEDGEABLE. THEY HAD ABSOLUTELY NO PREJUDICE ABOUT ME AS A WOMAN, TRYING TO DO THE WORK MYSELF. THEY LISTENED INTENTLY AND RESPONDED APPROPRIATELY. I REALLY FEEL THAT I HAVE A PARTNER IN THE PROCESS, AN EXPERT ON CALL, AND THAT HAS BEEN WONDERFUL. EVEN THOUGH I AM ON A BUDGET, ANY TIME I NEED INFORMATION, OR I KNOW THAT THE PRICE DIFFERENCE IS MINIMAL - I WILL VISIT THEM OVER THE BIGGER CHAINS EVERY TIME.

BUT, IF YOU WANT HELP FIGURING OUT HOW TO DO SOMETHING OR CHOOSING A PRODUCT, EVERYBODY ON MILLEN'S FLOOR KNOWS WHAT THEY'RE DOING IN HOME MAINTENANCE AND UPGRADING. IF THEY DON'T CARRY A PRODUCT YOU WANT, THEY CAN ORDER IT OR WILL REFER YOU TO A PLACE THAT CAN TAKE CARE OF YOU. FOR MOST SMALLER ITEMS (NOT LUMBER, ETC), THOUGH, MILLEN HAS CARRIED WHAT I WANTED. BUYING HERE IS A MUCH QUICKER AND MORE SATISFYING EXPERIENCE THAN IN ONE OF THE LOWER PRICED BIG HARDWARE STORES.
