DEPAEPE CLEANING & PAINTING

I tried to follow-up on our 5-yr guarantee as our paint was peeling. Never returned a phone call then, out of the blue & unannounced, came to my house with some story about how he was in the hospital & almost died, yada, yada, yada. Promised to let me know a date work could be completed ... never heard from again. If anyone knows where Steve DePaepe is please post it ... my attorney would love to speak with him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Price was the best, but watch out for that. The paint started peeling in year 4 and after many calls to Depaepe for touch up and calls to the BBB, Depaepe never responded except for one time. They showed up, saw the follow up work required, left and I never heard from them again. Based on what I heard from others...just stay away from them.

Incompetent, abusive and did not finish the job. The workers were guys they picked up off the street corner and when I called the boss and said I did not like the quality of the work, he screamed obscenities at me and said things I will not repeat!

Our experience with Depaepe was extremely negative in every way. Work was not completed, or was completed incorrectly in every aspect of the job. Windows were ordered incorrectly, installed incorrectly (so that there are huge gaps allowing air to enter). The shingles were a disaster, and had to be removed. Another contractor re-did the job. Painting was not completed. Parts of the house were not painted at all. Fence was built incorrectly. A second contractor finished the job. Front porch was inferior,and buckled immediately. DePaepe broke 100 year old windows and did not replace them, damaged our neighbor's car, and refused to pay for the repair, and left a huge pile of garbage including paint cans, sawhorses, tarps, on our front lawn. Depaepe did not return calls, and eventually tried to evade service when we sued him. We have heard similar stories from other clients.

AGREED UPON CONTRACT TO PAINT EXTERIOR PORTIONS OF HOME. ORIGINALLY WAS TO BE DONE BY AUGUST 31,2004 AND IS NOT COMPLETED TO THIS DATE. THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIVE TO MY MANY CALLS TO COMPLETE THE JOB SINCE JULY. THEY ARE VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. I AM BEING INGNORED AND NOT VALUED. WE ORIGINALLY MADE IT CLEAR I WAS LOOKING FOR A NEW AND ONGOING RELATIONSHIP WITH A PAINTER, HE DOES NOT SEEM TO CARE OR VALUE THIS. THIS INCONVENIENCE IS EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING AND HAS CAUSED INTERRUPTIONS TO OTHER WORK NEEDING TO BE DONE.

THE QUOTE SAID THEY WOULD PUT 2 COATS ON. AFTER THEY PUT ON ONE COAT, WE ASKED WHEN THEY WOULD DO THE SECOND COAT. THEY SAID THEY APPLIED THE SAME AMOUNT OF PAINT, BUT THEY USED A THICKER ROLLER, SO THEY SAID THAT THIS WAS EQUAL TO 2 COATS. YOU CAN SEE THROUGH THE LAYER OF PAINT WHEN YOU LOOK CLOSELY. WE HELD BACK 10% OF THE COST OF THE FINAL BILL. THE OWNER BECAME VERY UPSET WITH US. THEY HAVE NOT APPLIED THE SECOND COAT. WE WOULD NOT USE THEM AGAIN. HE HAS BEEN CALLING US TO COLLECT THE REST OF HIS MONEY. THE WAY HE HAS HANDLED THIS HAS BEEN VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.

DON''T USE THEM FOR ANYTHING.

USED SEVERAL TIMES. GOOD WORK. POOR EXPERIENCE WITH OWNER ON TELEPHONE.

THE WORKMAN STRIPPED LITTLE MORE THAN THE FRONT PART OF THE HOUSE - THE PART VISIBLE FROM THE STREET. THE BACK OF THE HOUSE WASN''T EVEN SANDED IN SPOTS WERE THERE HAD BEEN OBVIOUS PEELING. THE START OF WORK WAS DELAYED BY A WEEK OR MORE BECAUSE THEY WERE BEHIND SCHEDULE. SEVERAL THINGS WERE UNFINISHED. PAINT MESS REMAINS IN THE WINDOW WELLS AROUND THE HOUSE. DROP CLOTHS AND EMPTY PROPANE TANKS WERE LEFT PILED IN THE YARD. TRIM WAS PAINTED THE WRONG COLOR. THEY DAMAGED A STORM WINDOW WHEN REMOVING IT, WHICH THEY ADMITTED, AND PROMISED TO FIX, BUT NEVER DID. THEY HAVE NOT RETURNED A SINGLE PHONE CALL OF MINE (5 OR MORE) OR RESPONDED TO MY LETTER ASKING THEM TO RETURN TO FINISH THEIR WORK AND CLEAN UP. I AM SUBMITTING THIS 3 OR 4 WEEKS AFTER MY FIRST REQUEST. I HAVE PHOTO DOCUMENTATION OF THEIR SLOPPY WORK. HOWEVER, THE HOUSE DOES LOOK SUPER FROM THE STREET. AND THE CARPENTRY REPAIR WORK WAS FABULOUS (THE CARPENTERS WERE CLEARLY MORE EXPERIENCED AND CAREFUL THEN THE

I LEFT A MESSAGE WITH MY PHONE NUMBER (WHICH HAS VOICE MAIL, TOLD THEM MY PROJECT, AND ASKED A REPRESENTATIVE TO CALL ME. NO ONE EVER CALLED.
