A storm knocked a large 35-year old tree in my yard and it was leaning on telephone/internet lines and the power Line. I called ComEd and they said since you still have power, we’ll get to when we get to it, but it was only a matter of time before the tree move more and took out the lines. I called Davey based on a friend's recommendation and a certified arborist was there within 45 minutes, gave me a quote to remove the tree within 15 minutes, had a crew out on the property 3 hours later, and finished the 6-hour job that day. I can’t say how cost competitive they were, but their responsiveness and speed to get the work done to avoid an outage were worth every penny. I would definitely use them again.

The response to my call was very quick and an appointment to assess the scope of the job was scheduled. Matt came out and described what they would do and gave us the proposal immediately. Within a week they came and did the trimming as agreed upon.

They removed some trees. I thought both companies prices were good, but Davey's was lower. So that's why I went with that company. They did good work. They seemed to be on it,and work independently. They followed the instructions I gave them, and it worked out well. They showed up at 8am in the morning and were gone by the time I got home from work. The representative that I spoke with was very professional.

We were real happy with them. I was very pleased with them, there were no complaints at all. I guess we probably got two or three estimates and we went with this first one from them. They were certified to work near power lines. They came out and they had the right stuff. We have a very strict village ordinances here, so whatever they do has to be approved by the village.

I have used Davey Tree for thousands of dollars worth of tree services over the past several years. Projects have always been done on a flat fee basis and the work has always been good. For a recent tree trimming project, however, the rep convinced me to hire them on a time and materials basis -- at a rate of $255 per hour for a three man crew. He neglected to tell me that I would be billed for "travel time" and "dump time" which, when the bill came, appeared to add nearly 1.5 Hours to the bill (nearly $400). When I questioned the amount, the rep was immediately defensive and then stopped returning phone calls for the next several weeks. in the meantime, I simply gave up, paid the bill, and vowed never to work with Davey again. The manager contacted me later and offered me a free half hour of tree fertilization to make up for the hassle. He meant well, but since I feel like I got ripped off for several hundred dollars, it really only added insult to injury..

It was perfect. I've used them for years. They're a very good company, very conscientious, excellent. If you had a scale from 1-10, I'd give them an 11.

They did a good job. They did what my wife asked them to do. We were pretty satisfied. My wife uses them all the time.

Every application so far has been done professionally with a call prior to the visit alerting me of the job being done. Met with the individual doing the work discussing what was being done and providing suggestions on other things I may do or have the Company do. Very professionally and respectfully as well.

The staff cleaned up after themselves. I didn't even know they were there except some saw dust residue left over. I would recommend them to a friend. I have used them for 20 years.

They did an excellent job. Conditions were challenging and they rose to the challenge and accomplished the work. They were very prompt. They told us the time frame of the work and came when they said they would.

There were a few different crews for the different jobs, maybe five people total. They arrived between nine and ten AM, and they left at around two PM, but one guy came back to grind down the stump. They were fine, they called me before they arrived to see if they could start early.

They were very knowledgable in the care and pruning of oak trees and would not prune the Oak Tree until after the first hard frost. Many other companies offered to prune earlier, which could harm the tree. The crew was on time and responsive to our special requests. I will use them again.

Their charge depends on each service. The Hawthorns is three treatments at $70 each and then the fertilization is $210. They're incredibly responsive. We made a number of calls to different tree services in the area. Couple of them said that they would be out, but then never showed up or returned calls. Other ones showed up, but then didn't forward any kind of quote and then couple of other just didn't call back.

The Davey Tree Co in South Chicago are very honest, are easy to get a hold of, they send out mailings, and they are not pushy at all. They gave me advise on how to take care of my trees on my own like pruning on my Dogwood when they could easily have said we'll do it.

It was easy to schedule the work. The crew was punctual and cleaned up well. When the crew was almost done, we noticed a branch we had forgotten to mention that we wanted trimmed and they trimmed it for us. The trees look very good and we are pleased with their work.

We couldn't be happier. They were able to come on short notice and remove the tree and some additional branches of other trees that were crowding the lines coming into the house. The tree was approximately 60 Ft tall and very close to the lot line and an installed wood fence. They were able to remove the tree, down to about 4 inches above the ground (a place to put a planter), removed the wood, clean the yard and leave minimal traces of the work done. In all instances they were professional, and even came back to take care of another small trimming project when they were in the area. We are very pleased with the service and continue to call on them to make sure our trees are in good condition.
