I went to visit the shop and talk to them about reupholstering 8 dining room chairs. I was impressed with my salesman, Al, who right away understood what I was looking for and showed me fabrics they had in the shop. He was low pressure and told me I could certainly look around other places for fabric too. Luckily they had a fabric I loved at the shop and so I bought it from them. Universal sent someone to pick up my chairs right away and told me it would take about 2 weeks to complete the job. I was in no rush as we were going to be out of town, and in fairness, told them that. It did take about 4 weeks before my chairs were returned. We are very happy with the job done and will go back to this company for any upholstery projects in the future. I have already recommended them to friends. Their price was lowest of the estimates I got for this job.

They are very efficient. Worked with Eugene and he clearly prepared the proposal which we found to be reasonable for the work that was being done. He included Leon and their head seamstress in evaluating the project before starting the job. Along the way I was contacted to verify a measurement on the four dining chair cushions since the old set had lost it's shape thereby affecting a true measurement. We decided it best to bring in one of the chairs for their professional inspection. I was grateful that they brought this to my attention before proceeding and then the seamstress also suggested that we increase the size slightly to allow for better comfort and fit. The work was completed in a short period of time and we are extremely pleased at the end result !

I had a great experience with Universal Upholstery. I needed 2 large boat seats repaired and recovered, and they did an excellent job, including matching the old colors. Leon went to great effort searching through his workroom for in-stock material, so he wouldn't have to place a special order (which significantly increases the cost). The seats were well done, and the work completed in about 2 weeks. I was so pleased with the seats, that I returned with 2 more cushions.

I was satisfied with the work and price. I would use them again. I contacted them and a couple of other places that Angie's List provided. A couple of the other ones are pretty expensive while this guy is one of the most economical. I don't recall if he had many recommendations or comments but what he did have was good. I visited their location and they do all kinds of things, the automotive almost seemed like a sideline because they do a lot of furniture and things. I told them I'd like to see the interior of the vehicle after they had torn it apart to see what kind of shape it's in. After they took it apart they had me come in and take a look at it so they were very cooperative. The quality of the work is good and I'm happy with the outcome.

Everything went great. I could never have expected how well everything went. These guys know their stuff inside & out. They are worth every fair penny they charge. I have a whole new respect for these craftsmen.
