Comfort Masters has always provided great service for my household. They did a super job installing a new furnace and A/C system in 2016, and have taken good care of it each year since. Today, John Coleman paid his first visit and performed the air conditioning maintenance, along with checking all furnace components, as well. As I've come to expect from Comfort Masters, John was thorough, careful, respectful and quick, getting it all done in a timely manner. My thanks to John and Comfort Masters for a job well done.

First let me say that I have used them in the past and I found their other techs to be professional. I have used and use Angie list when I found Comfort Masters. Made the appointment a week in advance for between 12 and 2pm, their office called and said tech was running late and is 3pm ok. Well furnace is not running and I had use them before so I will wait. The reason I called Comfort Masters was to fix my AC and only charge me for what it takes to fix my AC. Guy shows up a little after 3pm, I said so your running a bit late he said I am not late. So while the tech is examining the furnace and we are discussing age he says that I could lease a new unit for $99.00 a month. Ok, so $99.00 a month for AC and furnace, he said no that is the starting point mine would probably be $160 - $170.00 a month, but it includes everything. Wow same price as a Honda car lease. If I am interested I can contact the company and the leasing rep would come out. Really! $165.00 a month for 12 month = $1,980.00 x 10 years $19800.00 vs lets say $7000.00 unit with low interest loan lets add 10% (simple) interest over 5 year $7700.00 / 60 months $123.33 a month and I own the unit. What if I sell do I still pay rent, maybe the new owner will be happy to pay my lease. Anyways there are more question then answer so forget the lease. You can see how leasing does not make sense, however this did trigger my mind to think that this is just a "screw me" lease from a company I thought I trusted. So he tells me what I need and he will give me an estimate in a little while. Goes to his truck and 15 minutes later presents me with an estimate for $1,000.00 for what it says he is recommending . Recommending $1,000.00 for a non itemized grouped together quote. I needed my AC to work and do I need the $1,000.00 he is recommending, I think I need a capacitor (not sure as of this writing) but if there is no proof I need a motor and fan on a 23 year old unit why would I spend the additional money til it was absolutely proven. Plus I had the fan replaced by them a year or 2 ago so I probably need to buy another one (really!) cause the tech recommends I buy another one. Really, maybe he needs to buy me the fan I paid $400.00 installed a year or two ago. Well any how none of this made any sense to me. I paid the $85.00 inspection fee. The $1,085.00 listed is for the quote and the RECOMMENDED repairs I do not know if they even credit back the $85.00 quote if I do $1,000.00 recommended repair/replacement. I have lost may faith in Comfort Masters of Wheeling Illinois.

I have had a contract with them for 38 years. They installed our unit years ago. They are very good. They check everything and make sure it is in good shape. If anything needs a little part or service of some kind they will do it right then. We have not had any major problems. It takes 45 minutes to an hour for one technician to complete his check up.

They came out to do routine maintenance and they replaced a part that was failing. I would say the charge just about as much as everybody else does. They said 8:00 and they were here at 8:00. I keep going back to Comfort Masters for the convenience and the past experience. I don't believe they have ever steered me wrong. They are pretty thorough. It was less than 2 hours to complete the job. I can't think of anything right off the bat that they need to improve on.

They are good. They handle the maintenance for our heating and air conditioning with a annual service agreement. The service agreement also covers free service calls. You can tell that some of the younger workers haven't been at it that long and some try to push sales on you. The seasoned workers are very good. They are good at leaving the area clean when they are finished.

Great, on time and very professional. Looked over the furnace, confirmed the items the I already knew, brought other/new items to my attention. Checked the thermo-couple was clean, showed me how the gas regulation valve might be having issues (and what symptoms to look for). Demonstrated how the thermostat is causing some issues (did't sell me one but pointed me to hardware store for more options). NOTE: The furnace is over 15 years old and we will probably replace it this year or next. The work was performed on a weekend as we thought the furnace was going out (intermintant service).

Very Good, showed up when they said they would, performed an inspection, found the issue (bug crawled in between the contact of the compressor switch), replaced the component (shorted/fused contacts in the switch), checked the health of the system (over 15 years old!) and got it operating again.

The service men have been professional. If they are running late they are sure to call to let you know. They always call when they are on the way. They were running late once last year and called to let me know. I was not able to stay but they were very accommodating, apologetic and extended my service agreement.

The price was an A because we went through Costco. They got a good deal for us. They did a good job, but we spent a lot of money on the system. One of the pipes was leaking and it took a couple of calls and service visits before they actually solved the problem.

Comfort Masters was called 3 times over the coarse of the last 2 months for service on an 11 year old furnace that wasn't running properly. This is a 850 square foot condo my husband and I own and rent to my parents who are senior citizens. Each time Service Masters came out we incurred a service fee in addition to work performed; replaced a switch the first time, replaced a blower motor second visit, and at the final visit they suggested we replace the entire heating unit in addition to air conditioning unit (which we were having no trouble with) at a cost of $10,300 which they so generously offered a $3,000 discount for a total quote of $7,300. No doubt this cost sound excessive! Having approximately $500 already invested with Comfort Master to date and feeling frustrated and suspicious after their last recommendation and quote we decided to go elsewhere for a second opinion. Another HVAC provider who came out next day and checked the furnace filter. That filter was filthy and consequently replaced. Additionally the furnace was inspected and total cost for visit, inspection and replacement of furnace filter was $155. We were told by this HVAC technician that the high performance filter ($18 each) that my father was using was preventing air flow to the furnace. Consequently the furnace was overheating and turning itself off. He suggested that we use a cheaper and less dense filters in the future. My husband I felt that Comfort Masters was completely out of line suggesting a complete HVAC replacement. We think they were negligent for not determining that the filter needed to be changed in the first place. Furthermore, their quote was excessively high and we are suspect of their taking advantage of the unusually frigid temperature (-8 below during this last service call) and taking advantage of senior citizens to boot.
Description of Work: Replaced a switch, replaced a blower motor and after continued furnace performance issue recommended and quoted replacing entire HVAC units.

We went through Costco services. John Cimaglia, from Comfort Masters, came to the house. He was very polite and answered all questions that me and my husband had. He showed and explained in detail what would be done. The services were scheduled for the next day. The next day, three guys came out, on time, and worked hard all day. Please, note that they were working outside in the cold with at least a foot of snow. Each time they came inside the house they put on floor protectors. They cleaned up very well behind themselves too! On top of the great service, our no furnace is so quit. The iComfort thermostat is pretty neat to, you can control your home temperature through your phone via app.
Description of Work: Removed old A/C, furnace, added a whole home humidifier, iComfort thermostat, and 10 year maintenance.

I used Costco's referral service. After calling the Costco number and giving my address, the service provider called back in 2 days to set up an appointment in a week's time. They showed up promptly and went through the house taking measurements and discussing what I was looking for. He was initially recommending a high end AC (19 SEER) to replace what we had but it seemed higher than what we needed and what others providers were suggesting. We then discussed when it made sense to replace the units and he suggested that if they weren't having problems I could just wait to replace them. He indicated their pricing was the same regardless of whether you called as a service emergency or did it ahead of time. This did not seem to be the case with the other providers who indicated the sales team and the service team had different price books. He said he would get back to me with a bid by e-mail but I never received a bid.
Description of Work: Asked for a bid on replacing two Heating and Air Conditioning systems in our house. Units were working but over 14 years old and I was considering replacing them prior to the winter.

Got up Sunday Morning with no cold air blowing from vents in the house. Checked the AC Unit outside and saw the fan not moving. Checked on Angie's list for HVAC repairs, wife went to the furnance and gave me the Telephone Number off the sticker on the furnance for Comfort Masters Service Experts. I called and within (1) Hour on a hot Sunday arrived Dave Greenfield. Dave listened to my explanation of what appeared to be wrong, opened the outside unit and observed that the Capacitor was bad. Dave did the repair, cleaned the unit, even wiped it down. Checked the inside air for a variance in temperture. Dave was great, great customer service, can't say enough good stuff. will have him back to check the furnance in October. Strongly recommend!!!

Overall they are the worst people to work on my systemThe work is being performed in the Boulder Hil area of Montgomery IL
Description of Work: My elderly parents ( 85 + ) used this company several years ago to install a new furnace and A/C units in their single family home. They then paid approx $500 per year for the Ultimate service plan that covers ALL Parts and Labor. Last year there were about 10 visits to the house and numerous canceled appts. They have been unable to fix the leak in the system resulting in a malfunctioning A/C system. They seem to cancel or call off on about every appointment they make and reschedule for the next day or next week. You can never get anyone on the phone unless they are calling to cancel the appt. They just called as I am writing this review to delay an appt for the third time. It was canceled Tuesday b/c it was raining then rescheduled to Thursday which was canceled and now Friday 9 am appt was moved back till 1 pm.The usual service call consists of some inspection and then they don't have the proper tools and leave until later. One time they left a pressure testing device hooked up for ten days and when they cane back it was cool enough that you did not need A/C and they took it off and left and said they had to wait till next year to find the leak. They always have someone injured or absent or it is too cold or raining or something, Every excuse in the book. These people are either the worst techs in the business or they know that they have my money and I don't. If they treat other people like this they have to be leaving a trail of disappointment and heartache. I am considering looking into charges of elder abuse as they seem content to keep messing with my 85 + y/o parents and not performing their warranty contract.They have been the worst deal going for this type of work.

Both times the salesperson Dave Grubbs was very friendly and knowledgeable. I was impressed that he wasn't pushy and didn't try to push a higher priced model that we didn't need for our purposes. The crew was also very polite and timely. They performed both installations without a hitch and cleaned up after themselves when they were finished. I would recommend them to anyone. You also get a $400 cash card if you go through Costco.
Description of Work: They installed a new Lennox air conditioner and a thermostat. We also purchased a Lennox furnace from them last fall. Both were through Coscto.

This is late in the posting, but I was hoping to hear back from the supplier after we played phone tag. I left several messages and they have failed to return my call. We have used Golden Seal/Service Experts the last few years for our annual prepaid maintenance agreement on our A/C and furnace. For this years furnace check, we asked specifically for 1 of 3 techs that we liked from our prior service. Service Experts said that would be no problem. Well, we ended up with another tech we did not know. The tech was thorough and recommended 4 parts for replacement. I was a little surprised that after 2yrs of annual checkups we were being told now that these 4 parts were weak. When we inquired with the tech why these parts were not discovered to be worn in prior maintenance calls, he did not have a response. He then recommended that we replace out the furnace as it is approx 16yrs old. Since we were not ready to replace the furnace, that appeared to be in good working condition, at this point. and it was coming up on winter, we had him replace out the parts. The total bill was $719 for approx 2 hrs of service and parts. He had also performed his annual cleaning in this 2hr period which was already paid for as part of the prepaid maintenance agreement. When he wrote up the bill, he gave us a $137 discount, which brought the bill to $582. When I returned home that evening, I took all the parts that we requested he leave with us and did a Google on each part number. To my surprise, the parts (4 of them) each averaged around $25-$35 new online. I was surprised and upset. I called the company for an explanation on how they billed us. Dave from Service Experts called back when I was not home. I tried several times to return the call and received no response. I even asked to speak to a manager. To date, no one returned my call. In a nutshell, we believe the tech used scare tactics into having us replace parts which may or may not have been on the verge of failing. Futhermore, they operated on the pretense that they providing us with a discount for being on their maintenance program when in fact, assuming a $100/hr. labor rate, the parts and labor were actually marked up appproximately 120%. To add further insult to injury, they have refused to return any of our phone calls to explain why such a mark up. So much for being a valued customer!

It's a small company. They do the work really quickly. They respond very quickly within 24 hours if we have any problems. They are very competent people who charge reasonably. I'm happy with them. I have a service contract with them where I pay them yearly. They are very good. I like them a lot. I would recommend them.

They were very good and punctual. Had estimate done on on Wednesday and they were able to have unit installed that same Saturday since the weather was about to hit the high 90's. Very impressed with technicians, even pointed out things that were done incorrectly by previous HVAC company I had used. Would definitely use again.

In response to my central AC failing, I called these guys. Very quick response time, came within 2 hours. After that things went south.Service man meet me at the door the comment, it will be $49 to even talk to him and EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING is extra. While looking over my house was not unpleasant but very noticeably unsocial and acted as though I should be VERY gratefully he bothered to came help me out. Finaly went out side and took apart my AC unit and starting listing prices one by one.Remove rodent nest $50Check wire insulation $75Check condenser $150Test for shorts $125Several other prices mentions which I don't remember.Wasn't until I said just put it back the way you found it and how would yo like that $49, that he all the sudden decided he wanted to be my buddy.Businesses that are well managed have well managed and well trained people. If his companies managers lets their people treat customers that way, I just wont do business with them.
